The text reflects on disobedience concerning informal art education. The aim is to trace possible directions of what artistic research today can represent for the scientific, social, and educational world in terms of the emancipatory potential it can foster. The text addresses the issue of disobedience from three perspectives. It reviews three historical experiences of artists who deal with the educational-pedagogical practice. It explores the digital archives of two curatorial projects, depositaries, and activators of dissident knowledge. The European GreenBuilding Projects Catalogue 2014

In 2005 the European Commission launched the GreenBuilding Programme (GBP). GreenBuilding is a voluntary programme aiming at improving the energy efficiency of non-residential buildings in Europe on voluntary basis. The programme addresses owners of non-residential buildings to realise cost-effective measures which enhance the energy efficiency of their buildings in one or more technical services. The programme covers both existing and new buildings. The GreenBuilding Programme reached its 8th year of activity and has now achieved its original target of collecting data from over 1000 buildings. The Joint Research Centre (JRC) has therefore decided to close down the GreenBuilding Programme by 1st of October 2014.JRC.F.7-Renewables and Energy Efficienc

This report aims at showing the present status of energy consumption in the EU-28, in the four main energy consuming sectors: residential, tertiary, transport and industry. During the last years, there have been efforts by the European Union to cut down on energy consumption and improve energy efficiency. From 2000 to 2014, there have been various initiatives that aim at reducing final energy consumption. 9th International Conference on Energy Efficiency in Motor Driven Systems

The 9th International Conference on Energy Efficiency in Motor Driven Systems (EEMODS'15) was be held in Helsinki (Finland) on 15-17 September, 2015. The EEMODS'15 conferences have been very successful in attracting distinguished and international presenters and attendees. The wide variety of stakeholders has included professionals involved in manufacturing, marketing, and promotion of energy efficient motors and motor driven systems and representatives from research labs, academia, and public policy. EEMODS’15 provided a forum to discuss and debate the latest developments in the impacts of electrical motor systems (advanced motors and drives, compressors, pumps, and fans) on energy and the environment, the policies and programmes adopted and planned, and the technical and commercial advances made in the dissemination and penetration of energy-efficient motor systems. In addition EEMODS covered also energy management in organizations, international harmonization of test method and financing of energy efficiency in motor systems. Compactness and invariance properties of evolution operators associated with Kolmogorov operators with unbounded coefficients

In this paper we consider nonautonomous elliptic operators ${\mathcal A}$ with nontrivial potential term defined in $I\times\mathbb R^d$, where $I$ is a right-halfline (possibly $I=\mathbb R$). We prove that we can associate an evolution operator $(G(t,s))$ with ${\mathcal A}$ in the space of all bounded and continuous functions on $\mathbb R^d$. We also study the compactness properties of the operator $G(t,s)$. Finally, we provide sufficient conditions guaranteeing that each operator $G(t,s)$ preserves the usual $L^p$-spaces and $C_0(\mathbb R^d)$

Review of 50 years of EU energy efficiency policies for buildings

The reduction of energy demand in buildings through the adoption of energy efficiency policy is a key pillar of the European Union (EU) climate and energy strategy. Energy efficiency first emerged in the EU energy policy agenda in the 1970s and was progressively transformed with shifting global and EU energy and climate policies and priorities. The paper offers a review of EU energy policies spanning over the last half century with a focus on policy instruments to encourage measures on energy efficiency in new and existing buildings. Starting from early policies set by the EU in response to the Oil Embargo in the 1973, the paper discusses the impact of EU policies in stimulating energy efficiency improvements in the building sector ranging from the SAVE Directive to the recently 2018 updated Energy Performance of Buildings Directive and Energy Efficiency Directive. The review explores the progress made over the last 50 years in addressing energy efficiency in buildings and highlights successes as well as remaining challenges. It discusses the impact of political priorities in reshaping how energy efficiency is addressed by EU policymakers, leading to a holistic approach to buildings, and provides insights and suggestions on how to further exploit the EU potential to save energy from buildings
