Picture-based task definition and parameterization support system

    Get PDF
Applications for task definition and automation are valuable tools to automated software engineering area. This paper describes a solution to support a parameterized task definition using screen capture images. The approach allows the capture of a sequence of actions defined by the user. Through the captured sequence of actions, the approach assists in the implementation of task automation processes. Based on picture-driven computing the proposed tool aims to reduce the challenges that users face while trying to define tasks. This approach provides also a foundation for the creation of picture-driven based tests for interactive systems, enabling to test any interactive system but also allowing for the definition, parameterization and execution of tests that might involve the use of several independent interactive systems.info:eu-repo/semantics/acceptedVersio

Implementation of six sigma methodology for the elimination of contamination in Fine Pitch connectors

Quality drives companies to evolve, providing what customers need or even exceeding their expectations through products and services that play their functions properly during their lifetime. From this perspective, this study aims to solve a concrete defect that occurs during the assembly process of an electronic product for the automotive industry. One of the new challenges in the electronics industry is the contamination issue in Printed Circuit Boards (PCB). Contamination can be defined as any type of particles (residues) that are deposited on PCB surface or within a component, causing unwanted behaviours in the electronic device. In the present study, the investigated contamination is organic in nature and is originated by the solder flux. The solder flux is released during the welding process, being deposited inside the PCB Fine Pitch connectors. The DMAIC method was adopted as a Problem Solving tool. This method was selected to ensure the elimination of this type of defect. To support the investigation, the 5W2H and Is/Is Not quality tools were used. The investigation was developed by a multidisciplinary team. After the root-cause identification, the connectors provider was involved to assist in the development of an effective and low cost solution. The final solution resulted in the placement in the connectors of a protective cap. This solution, besides protecting the connectors, allowed a new collaborative relationship along the supply chain

Arq Neuropsiquiatr. 2006 Sep;64(3B):865-8. Hypersomnia in Whipple disease: case report. Maia LF, Marta M, Lopes V, Rocha N, Lopes C, Martins-da-Silva A, Monteiro L. SourceDepartment of Neurological Disordes and Senses, Hospital Geral de Santo António, Largo Prof. Abel Salazar, 4099-001 Porto, Portugal. Abstract Whipple disease (WD) is a rare systemic infection caused by Tropheryma whippelii. Neurological involvement has been recognised in 40% of patients, either as initial manifestations or during the course of the disease. We report on a 45 years-old man with WD with initial, persistent and irresistible episodes of daytime somnolence. The patient was HLA-DQB1*0602 positive (genetic marker for narcolepsy). WD diagnosis was suspected on clinical and MRI basis and confirmed by histological and immunohistochemical study of duodenal biopsy. Forty months later all clinical features improved, narcoleptic-like episodes disappeared and cerebral MRI and CSF normalised. Longitudinal neurophysiological studies revealed persistent sleep pattern abnormalities with sleep fragmentation, paucity of slow wave and of REM sleep. The disruption of the hypocretin circuitry in the hypothalamic - diencephalic region triggered by the infection was the probable cause of the hypersomnia and narcopleptic symptoms. WD should be added to the list of causes of secondary hypersomnia

Antimicrobial resistance patterns of Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Derby and Typhimurium isolated from pigs slaughtered in southern Brazil

Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar (S.) Derby and S. Typhimurium were commonly isolated from slaughter pigs and pork. Thus, the monitoring of the resistance profile exhibited by strains of both serovars should be regularly conducted. This study aimed to assess the antimicrobial resistance pattern of strains isolated form pig carcasses and to investigate the genetic relatedness with isolates from intestinal content and lairage environment. Thirty-four S. Derby and seventeen S. Typhimurium strains isolated from carcasses (n=30), intestinal contents (n=16), and lairage environment (n=3) were tested. The antimicrobial resistance was determined by the agar disk diffusion test according to the document M31-A2 of the CLSI using twelve antimicrobials
