Woman's role as owner/manager in the framework of Albanian business
Even in the current civilized society, the women have not yet taken heir deserved place. Despite the obvious difficulties in Albania, as well as in the rest of the world, the number of female owners is increasing every day. As their businesses are new, most of them are in the introductory phase of their existance (survival, consolidation and control). Women as managers are facing several problems related to the lack of resources and inadequate knowledge and skills in management. The difficulties are increased by the fact that they are women. However, based upon the analysis of the characteristics of a strategic model of management in business owned by woman, we can state that the behaviour of female entrepreneurs is equal to that of male counterparts, but with some characteristics in the management style.Auch in der heutigen 'zivilisierten' Gesellschaft hat die Frau noch immer nicht den Platz eingenommen den sie verdient. Ungeachtet der offensichtlichen Schwierigkeiten in Albanien, wie auch im Rest der Welt, steigt die Zahl weiblicher Firmeneigentümer täglich. Die Mehrheit von ihnen befindet sich aber noch in der Anfangsphase ihrer wirtschaftlichen Existenz. Reforms of the public sector management in Albania
The problems treated and the often calumniated problems about public administration in Albania gave an impulse to our research. In inquiring through the comparative analysis of the tow public and private sector, we tried to certify the hypotheses that the public administration has enough problems, and that the reform in a certain point have positive indications, but there’s place for improvement. We could say that the paths leading to the integration of the large European family are, among others, the effective reforms in the public sector management, too.peer-reviewe
CONFRONTATION OF ALBANIAN LEADERS WITH GLOBAL CRISIS AND THEIR CHARACTERISTICS
The Albanian leaders were not prepared to face the requirements of a capitalist economy due to the transition of Albania, from a centralized economy to a market economy. Many state enterprises and institutions in Albanian were privatized, and local and global competition required from the organizational leaders to growingly face issues warranted long-term solutions. Organizations and businesses of every kind were facing a challenging environment of where to operate. New emerging requirements made a large number of organizations not flexible to the new financial local situation. Consequently, development appeared as an impossible objective to be achieved. Being unable to avail themselves of scarce opportunities caused difficulties to many local organizations and managers. The managers, owners, employees and consumers were unprepared in response to this situation, and this has brought about dissatisfaction. The theoretical and empirical analysis in this study will elaborate the role of leaders and managers in achieving the objectives of organizational effectiveness, and the steps to overcome financial crisis difficulties in Albania
Albania, an ex-communist country during the transition period: problems and challenges
This paper intends to give a brief history of the Albanian Economy before and during the transition period, to analyze the transformation of Albanian Society toward an economy based on private property and the free initiative of free people, and to highlight some of the problems and challenges Albania is currently facing. Motivation and Its Impact on Organizational Effectiveness in Albanian Businesses
Organizations wish to perform successfully in the market and if possible to have a sustainable economic growth. However, in the current circumstances of globalization and strong competition, technology is advancing at a rapid pace, hence making the market an unsafe environment. The business organizations (BOs) would have to make full use of all resources available. It is already a well-known fact that human resources or organization personnel constitute a key asset for achieving success. Yet, what makes the employees of a BO satisfied or motivated to achieve the planned objectives? In this research, we analyze some of the factors influencing the motivation of employees to enhance their performance. Through empirical and theoretical analysis, the study will identify the relationship between the motivation of employees and organizational effectiveness and finally the increase of BO revenues. The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact produced by the motivation of employees on organizational effectiveness. Personnel motivation will involve criteria such as employees’ bonus, good communication within the working premises, and satisfaction at their job place
What about the leader in Albanian reality?
It is so much written about leadership today and the leader's features are so much investigated, that one can hardly be original trying to put down some lines about the subject. Without pretending to bring new ideas, authors of this article will try here to bring new insight about leadership in a not very much studied culture like that of Albania. The following paper does take a social and organisational view of the phenomenon, trying mostly to point out the cultural influences on leadership, specific features fed by specific historical circumstances.Es ist schon viel über Führung geschrieben worden und die Führungseigenschaften wurden so eingehend erforscht, dass es wahrscheinlich nicht allzu originell ist, darüber zu schreiben. Ohne neue Ideen vorzugeben, versuchen die Autoren dieses Artikels, neue Einsichten von Führung in einer nicht sehr geläufigen Kultur wie der Albaniens zu geben. Der folgende Aufsatz gibt eine soziale und organisatorische Sicht der Dinge und versucht verstärkt, die kulturellen Einflüsse auf die Führung darzustellen, die von spezifischen historischen Umständen genährt wurden
