The ant-parasitizing genus Pseudacteon Coquillett (Diptera: Phoridae) from China with description of three new species
The ant-parasitizing genus Pseudacteon Coquillett is reported for the first time in China. Three new species, P. quadrisetalis Liu & Cai, sp. n., P. obtusatus Liu & Cai, sp. n. and P. hexosetalis Liu & Wang, sp. n., are described and illustrated
Supersymmetric Extension of the Minimal Dark Matter Model
The minimal dark matter model is given a supersymmetric extension. A super
SU(2)L quintuplet is introduced with its fermionic neutral component still
being the dark matter, the dark matter particle mass is about 19.7 GeV. Mass
splitting among the quintplet due to supersymmetry particles is found to be
negligibly small compared to the electroweak corrections. Other properties of
this supersymmetry model are studied, it has the solutions to the PAMELA and
Fermi-LAT anomaly, the predictions in higher energies need further experimental
data to verify.Comment: 14 pages, 7 figures, accepted for publication in Chinese Physics C,

(2R,4R)-3-(tert-Butoxycarbonyl)-2-(3-chlorophenyl)-1,3-thiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid monohydrate
In the title compound, C15H18ClNO4S·H2O, the thiazolidine ring displays a half-chair conformation. In the crystal, the water molecules are linked to the organic acid molecules via intermolecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds
Moby: Empowering 2D Models for Efficient Point Cloud Analytics on the Edge
3D object detection plays a pivotal role in many applications, most notably
autonomous driving and robotics. These applications are commonly deployed on
edge devices to promptly interact with the environment, and often require near
real-time response. With limited computation power, it is challenging to
execute 3D detection on the edge using highly complex neural networks. Common
approaches such as offloading to the cloud induce significant latency overheads
due to the large amount of point cloud data during transmission. To resolve the
tension between wimpy edge devices and compute-intensive inference workloads,
we explore the possibility of empowering fast 2D detection to extrapolate 3D
bounding boxes. To this end, we present Moby, a novel system that demonstrates
the feasibility and potential of our approach. We design a transformation
pipeline for Moby that generates 3D bounding boxes efficiently and accurately
based on 2D detection results without running 3D detectors. Further, we devise
a frame offloading scheduler that decides when to launch the 3D detector
judiciously in the cloud to avoid the errors from accumulating. Extensive
evaluations on NVIDIA Jetson TX2 with real-world autonomous driving datasets
demonstrate that Moby offers up to 91.9% latency improvement with modest
accuracy loss over state of the art.Comment: Accepted to ACM International Conference on Multimedia (MM) 202
Prosaposin in seminal plasma on the day of oocyte retrieval is associated with normal fertilization and embryo development in in vitro fertilization cycles.
The prospective study including 166 participants aims to evaluate the association between seminal prosaposin and the outcomes of in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycles in humans. The generalized linear model (GLM) was used to analyze the associations between seminal prosaposin concentrations and normal fertilization rates and good embryos proportion. The generalized estimating equation (GEE) was used to evaluate the association between embryo parameters and the prosaposin concentrations. Each model was adjusted for age of the couples, female basal FSH, AFC and BMI, starting dose and oocyte yield of IVF cycles and smoker. GLM models suggested that prosaposin was significantly associated with fertilization rate ( P = 0.005) and good embryo proportion ( P = 0.038) while none of the semen parameters (sperm concentration, motility, progressive motility, normal morphology rate, postwash sperm concentration and motility) was significantly associated with the parameters in the cohort. Using GEE, it was also shown that prosaposin was positively associated with the occurrence of early cleavage and negatively associated with uneven cleavage pattern on day 3. In both the overall population and the normozoospermia patients, the prosaposin was significantly associated with pregnancy with adjustment with covariates. In conclusion, our data suggested that seminal prosaposin concentration could provide more information regarding normal fertilization and embryo development in IVF than traditional semen parameters
Ethyl 1-cyclopropyl-6,7-difluoro-8-methoxy-4-oxo-1,4-dihydroquinoline-3-carboxylate
In the title compound, C16H15F2NO4, the dihedral angle between the three-membered ring and the quinoline ring system is 64.3 (3)°. In the crystal structure, intermolecular C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the molecules, forming a column running along [101]
Abundance Analysis of Barium Stars
We obtain the chemical abundances of six barium stars and two CH subgiant
stars based on the high signal-to-noise ratio and high resolution Echelle
spectra. The neutron capture process elements Y, Zr, Ba, La, Eu show obvious
overabundance relative to the Sun, for example, their [Ba/Fe] values are from
0.45 to 1.27. Other elements, including Na, Mg, Al, Si, Ca, Sc, Ti, V, Cr, Mn,
Ni, show comparable abundances to the Solar ones, and their [Fe/H] cover a
range from 0.40 to 0.21, which means they belong to Galactic disk. The
predicts of the theoretical model of wind accretion for binary systems can
explain the observed abundance patterns of the neutron capture process elements
in these stars, which means that their overabundant heavy-elements could be
caused by accreting the ejecta of AGB stars, the progenitors of the present
white dwarf companions in the binary systems.Comment: 24 pages, 6 figures, accepted for publication in ChJA
