Purpose: To investigate contact and fumigant toxicity of the essential oil of Bidens frondosa and its isolated constituents against booklice (Liposcelis bostrychophila). Methods: The essential oil of B. frondosa was obtained by hydro-distillation and analyzed by gas chromatography (GC) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) with HP-5MS column. The active constituents were purified from the oil by bioactivity-guided fractionation. Contact (impregnated filter paper method) and fumigant toxicity (sealed space) of the oil and its isolates were determined. Results: Thirty-two compounds, representing 98.88 % of the total oil, were determined and the major constituents of the essential oil were caryophyllene oxide (20.50 %), borneol (17.66 %), 4-terpineol (17.26 %), and β-cedrene (6.94 %). The essential oil displayed fumigant toxicity against booklice, with a median lethal concentration (LC50) of 507.35 μg/L while the isolated constituents, borneol and 4-terpineol, had LC50 values of 2.20 mg/L and 335.24 μg/L against booklice, respectively. The essential oil also exhibited contact toxicity against L. bostrychophila with an LC50 value of 210.73 μg/cm2. Borneol, caryophyllene oxide, β-cedrene, and 4-terpineol showed acute toxicity against booklice with LC50 of 98.04, 84.62, 458.79 and 211.35 μg/cm2, respectively. Conclusion: The results suggest that the essential oil and its isolates possess potential for cultivation into natural insecticides or fumigants, for control of insects in stored grains. Keywords: Bidens frondosa, Liposcelis bostrychophila, Contact toxicity, Essential oil, Boolice, Stored grains, Natural insecticides, Fumigant

Objective: Explore the deep vein catheter connect portable infusion pump infusion for small doses than ordinary needle joint regulation fluorouracil infusion of gastrointestinal tumor chemotherapy is better. Methods: Continuous intravenous chemotherapy in terms of efficacy and side effects is superior to the traditional pattern of impact of chemotherapy. In order to coordinate the development of continuous intravenous chemotherapy of malignant gastrointestinal tumor, ensure the smooth implementation of the chemotherapy to reduce such effective permeability and the occurrence of phlebitis, from the traditional ordinary needle joint control infusion infusion with small dose fluorouracil method instead I now use the deep vein catheter (PICC or CVC) combined with a portable infusion pump continuous intravenous chemotherapy. Results and conclusion: Joint portable infusion pump for deep vein chemotherapy can improve the quality of life of patients, alleviate patients pain, improve drug efficacy.

A Transmissive X-ray Polarimeter Design For Hard X-ray Focusing Telescopes

The X-ray Timing and Polarization (XTP) is a mission concept for a future space borne X-ray observatory and is currently selected for early phase study. We present a new design of X-ray polarimeter based on the time projection gas chamber. The polarimeter, placed above the focal plane, has an additional rear window that allows hard X-rays to penetrate (a transmission of nearly 80% at 6 keV) through it and reach the detector on the focal plane. Such a design is to compensate the low detection efficiency of gas detectors, at a low cost of sensitivity, and can maximize the science return of multilayer hard X-ray telescopes without the risk of moving focal plane instruments. The sensitivity in terms of minimum detectable polarization, based on current instrument configuration, is expected to be 3% for a 1mCrab source given an observing time of 10^5 s. We present preliminary test results, including photoelectron tracks and modulation curves, using a test chamber and polarized X-ray sources in the lab

Phenyl C71 butyric acid methyl ester (PC71BM) has been adopted as electron acceptor materials in bulk heterojunction solar cells with relatively higher power conversion efficiency. The understanding of the mechanism and performance for the devices based upon PC71BM requires the information of conformations, electronic structures, optical properties, and so forth. Here, the geometries, IR and Raman, electronic structures, polarizabilities, and hyperpolarizabilities of PC71BM isomers are studied by using density functional theory (DFT); the absorption and excitation properties are investigated via time-dependent DFT with B3LYP, PBE0, and CAM-B3LYP functionals. The calculated results show that [6,6]PC71BM is more stable than [5,6]PC71BM due to the lower total energy. The vibrational modes of the isomers at IR and Raman peaks are quite similar. As to absorption properties, CAM-B3LYP functional is the suitable functional for describing the excitations of PC71BM because the calculated results with CAM-B3LYP functional agree well with that of the experiment. The analysis of transition configurations and molecular orbitals demonstrated that the transitions at the absorption maxima in UV/Vis region are localized π-π* transitions in fullerenes cages. Furthermore, the larger isotropic polarizability of PC71BM indicates that the response of PC71BM to applied external electric field is stronger than that of PC61BM, and therefore resulting into better nonlinear optical properties
