PRL1, an RNA-Binding Protein, Positively Regulates the Accumulation of miRNAs and siRNAs in Arabidopsis
The evolutionary conserved WD-40 protein PRL1 plays important roles in immunity and development. Here we show that PRL1 is required for the accumulation of microRNAs (miRNAs) and small interfering RNAs (siRNAs). PRL1 positively influences the processing of miRNA primary transcripts (pri-miRNAs) and double-stranded RNAs (dsRNAs). Furthermore, PRL1 interacts with the pri-miRNA processor, DCL1, and the dsRNA processors (DCL3 and DCL4). These results suggest that PRL1 may function as a general factor to promote the production of miRNAs and siRNAs. We also show that PRL1 is an RNA-binding protein and associates with pri-miRNAs in vivo. In addition, prl1 reduces pri-miRNA levels without affecting pri-miRNA transcription. These results suggest that PRL1 may stabilize pri-miRNAs and function as a co-factor to enhance DCL1 activity. We further reveal the genetic interaction of PRL1 with CDC5, which interacts with PRL1 and regulates transcription and processing of pri-miRNAs. Both miRNA and pri-miRNA levels are lower in cdc5 prl1 than those in either cdc5 or prl1. However, the processing efficiency of pri-miRNAs in cdc5 prl1 is similar to that in cdc5 and slightly lower than that in prl1. Based on these results, we propose that CDC5 and PRL1 cooperatively regulate pri-miRNA levels, which results in their synergistic effects on miRNA accumulation, while they function together as a complex to enhance DCL1 activity
Bridge Diffusion Model: bridge non-English language-native text-to-image diffusion model with English communities
Text-to-Image generation (TTI) technologies are advancing rapidly, especially
in the English language communities. However, English-native TTI models
inherently carry biases from English world centric training data, which creates
a dilemma for development of other language-native TTI models. One common
choice is fine-tuning the English-native TTI model with translated samples from
non-English communities. It falls short of fully addressing the model bias
problem. Alternatively, training non-English language native models from
scratch can effectively resolve the English world bias, but diverges from the
English TTI communities, thus not able to utilize the strides continuously
gaining in the English TTI communities any more. To build non-English language
native TTI model meanwhile keep compatability with the English TTI communities,
we propose a novel model structure referred as "Bridge Diffusion Model" (BDM).
The proposed BDM employs a backbone-branch network structure to learn the
non-English language semantics while keep the latent space compatible with the
English-native TTI backbone, in an end-to-end manner. The unique advantages of
the proposed BDM are that it's not only adept at generating images that
precisely depict non-English language semantics, but also compatible with
various English-native TTI plugins, such as different checkpoints, LoRA,
ControlNet, Dreambooth, and Textual Inversion, etc. Moreover, BDM can
concurrently generate content seamlessly combining both non-English native and
English-native semantics within a single image, fostering cultural interaction.
We verify our method by applying BDM to build a Chinese-native TTI model,
whereas the method is generic and applicable to any other language
Breaking Free from Fusion Rule: A Fully Semantic-driven Infrared and Visible Image Fusion
Infrared and visible image fusion plays a vital role in the field of computer
vision. Previous approaches make efforts to design various fusion rules in the
loss functions. However, these experimental designed fusion rules make the
methods more and more complex. Besides, most of them only focus on boosting the
visual effects, thus showing unsatisfactory performance for the follow-up
high-level vision tasks. To address these challenges, in this letter, we
develop a semantic-level fusion network to sufficiently utilize the semantic
guidance, emancipating the experimental designed fusion rules. In addition, to
achieve a better semantic understanding of the feature fusion process, a fusion
block based on the transformer is presented in a multi-scale manner. Moreover,
we devise a regularization loss function, together with a training strategy, to
fully use semantic guidance from the high-level vision tasks. Compared with
state-of-the-art methods, our method does not depend on the hand-crafted fusion
loss function. Still, it achieves superior performance on visual quality along
with the follow-up high-level vision tasks
On pairs of equations involving unlike powers of primes and powers of 2
In this paper, it is proved that every pair of sufficiently large even integers can be represented by a pair of equations, each containing one prime, one prime square, two prime cubes and 302 powers of 2. This result constitutes a refinement upon that of L. Q. Hu and L. Yang

Synthetical Analysis on Geological Factors Ccontrolling Coalbed Methane
AbstractThe gas-controlling property is the important content for the coalbed methane (CBM) theoretical research, and it has the important role for guiding the CBM exploration and development. The evolution features of the coal-bearing strata and structure and the current CBM preservation condition are the keys determining the CBM enrichment and reservoir formation. In the case that the earth curst is stable in the sedimentary period of the coal-bearing strata and after the coal-bearing strata are deposited, the coal seam deposited by the coal-accumulation has the large and stable thickness, the earth curst is stably subsided after the coal-accumulation period or the strength of the structural movement is low and the uplifted amplitude is little, then it is favorable for the CBM enrichment. In the area there the coal-bearing strata have the simple structure, the enclosing rock of coal seam is stable and compact, the seam buried depth is deep, and in the stagnant area with the simple hydrogeological condition, the CBM-controlling property is well. The research on the CBM-controlling property is restricted by the exploration degree, with respect to the area with the low exploration degree, the research on the CBM-controlling property could be combined with the exploration results of the area with the high exploration degree, on the basis of analysing the CBM distribution features and control factors of the area with the high exploration degree, adopting the analysis method such as the geological analogy and so on, it conducts the research work from the evolution features of the coal-bearing strata andstructure and the current CBM preservation condition
Expression of Ets-1, Ang-2 and maspin in ovarian cancer and their role in tumor angiogenesis
<p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>Various angiogenic regulators are involved in angiogenesis cascade. Transcription factor Ets-1 plays important role in angiogenesis, remodeling of extracellular matrix, and tumor metastasis. Ets-1 target genes involved in various stages of new blood vessel formation include angiopoietin, matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and the protease inhibitor maspin.</p> <p>Methods</p> <p>We used immunohistochemistry (IHC) to detect the expression of Ets-1, angiopoietin-2 (Ang-2) and maspin in ovarian tumor and analyzed the relationship between the expression of these proteins and the clinical manifestation of ovarian cancer.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>Ets-1 expression was much stronger in ovarian cancer compared to benign tumors, but had no significant correlation with other pathological parameters of ovarian cancer. However, Ang-2 and maspin expression had no obvious correlation with pathological parameters of ovarian cancer. Ets-1 had a positive correlation with Ang-2 which showed their close relationship in angiogenesis. Although microvessel density (MVD) value had no significant correlation with the expression of Ets-1, Ang-2 or maspin, strong nuclear expression of maspin appeared to be correlated with high grade and MVD.</p> <p>Conclusions</p> <p>The expression of Ets-1, Ang2 and maspin showed close relationship with angiogenesis in ovarian cancer and expression of maspin appeared to be correlated with high grade and MVD. The mechanisms underlying the cross-talk of the three factors need further investigations.</p
