OBJECTIVE: The acetabular buttress-plate has been widely used in treating difficult cases with satisfying clinical results. However, the biomechanical properties of a postoperative acetabular fracture fixed by the buttress-plate are not clear. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the biomechanical properties of stability after the anterior tube buttress-plate fixation of complex acetabular fractures in the quadrilateral area. METHODS: A construct was proposed based on anterior construct plate - 1/3 tube buttress plate fixation for acetabular both-column fractures. Two groups of six formalin-preserved cadaveric pelvises were analyzed: (1) group A, the normal pelvis and (2) group B, anterior construct plate-1/3 tube buttress plate with quadrilateral area fixation. The displacements were measured, and cyclical loads were applied in both standing and sitting simulations. RESULTS: As the load was added, the displacements were

Computed tomography imaging of early coronary artery lesions in stable individuals with multiple cardiovascular risk factors

OBJECTIVES: To investigate the prevalence, extent, severity, and features of coronary artery lesions in stable patients with multiple cardiovascular risk factors. METHODS: Seventy-seven patients with more than 3 cardiovascular risk factors were suspected of having coronary artery disease. Patients with high-risk factors and 39 controls with no risk factors were enrolled in the study. The related risk factors included hypertension, impaired glucose tolerance, dyslipidemia, smoking history, and overweight. The characteristics of coronary lesions were identified and evaluated by 64-slice coronary computed tomography angiography. RESULTS: The incidence of coronary atherosclerosis was higher in the high-risk group than in the no-risk group. The involved branches of the coronary artery, the diffusivity of the lesion, the degree of stenosis, and the nature of the plaques were significantly more severe in the high-risk group compared with the no-risk group (all p < 0.05). CONCLUSION: Among stable individuals with high-risk factors, early coronary artery lesions are common and severe. Computed tomography has promising value for the early screening of coronary lesions

Short video marketing : what, when and how short-branded videos facilitate consumer engagement

Purpose This study explores whether and how four main factors of short-branded video content (content matching, information relevance, storytelling and emotionality) facilitate consumer engagement (likes, comments and shares), as well as the moderating effect of the release time (morning, afternoon and evening) in such relationships. Design/methodology/approach This study uses Python to write programs to crawl relevant data information, such as consumer engagement and short video release time. It combines coding methods to empirically analyze the impact of short-branded video content characteristics on consumer engagement. A total of 10,240 Weibo short videos (total duration: 238.645 h) from 122 well-known brands are utilized as research objects. Findings Empirical results show that the content characteristics of short videos significantly affected consumer engagement. Furthermore, the release time of videos significantly moderated the relationship between the emotionality of short videos and consumer engagement. Content released in the morning enhanced the positive impact of warmth, excitement and joy on consumer engagement, compared to that released in the afternoon. Practical implications The findings provide new insights for the dissemination of products and brand culture through short videos. The authors suggest that enterprises that use brand videos consider content matching, information relevance, storytelling and emotionality in their design. Originality/value From a broader perspective, this study constructs a new method for comprehensively evaluating short-branded video content, based on four dimensions (content matching, information relevance, storytelling and emotionality) and explores the value of these dimensions for creating social media marketing success, such as via consumer engagement.© 2023 Emerald Publishing Limited. Objectives: This study aims to analyze the conditions of ovarian preservation during adnexal torsion surgery, and safetyof ovarian preservation.Material and methods: A retrospective analysis of 130 patients, who underwent surgery for ovarian benign tumor pedicletorsion in Fujian Provincial Maternal and Child Health Hospital from June 2013 to June 2018, was conducted. This studyanalyses the possible risk factors affecting the operation method using multiple logistic regression and analyses the complicationsand the recovery of ovarian function after the treatment of the ovarian preservation. Results: Among these patients, 58 received ovarian cystectomy, while 72 received ovariectomy. There was no significantdifference in terms of age, preoperative blood, operation time and surgical bleeding volume between the two groups(p > 0.05). However, there was a significant difference in preoperative adnexal blood flow, abdominal pain to the surgicalinterval, and a collection of torsion cycles (p < 0.05). There was an increased risk of ovarian resection in patients whose bloodflow of the annex disappeared, whose time of abdominal pain was long, and whose number of twists were significant. Forthe preservation group, there were no increases in postoperative complications. Conclusions: According to clinical indicators, such as preoperative adnexal blood flow, abdominal pain to the interval ofsurgery and the number of torsion cycles, it was determined whether it was feasible to keep the ovary. Retaining the ovaryis safe, effective and feasible in adnexal torsion
