Características morfogênicas de Brachiaria ruziziensis em sistemas de consórcio com milho

The objective of this work was to study the consortium of corn with Brachiaria ruziziensis regarding the morphogenesis of the forage. The field experiment was conducted on November 2012 to April 2013, in an area of UNIOESTE, campus Marechal Cândido Rondon, Paraná State. The experimental design was randomized blocks in 2x3 factorial design, with three replications. The treatments consisted of two spacings (45 and 90 cm), conducted in three types of cultivation (B. ruziziensis; B. ruziziensis with corn in the row; and B. ruziziensis with corn between the row). The morphogenical characteristics evaluated were: rates of leaf appearance, leaf elongation, number of green leaves and leaf life span. The leaf elongation rate of B. ruziziensis cultivated alone was higher in the spacing of 90 cm. Signal grass intercropped with maize constitutes a good alternative to be explored by farmers.Objetivou-se com este trabalho estudar o consórcio de milho com Brachiaria ruziziensis no que se refere às características morfogênicas da forrageira. O experimento foi conduzido em campo, no período de novembro de 2012 a abril de 2013, em área experimental da UNIOESTE, campus de Marechal Cândido Rondon, PR. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi o de blocos ao acaso em esquema fatorial 2x3, com três repetições. Os tratamentos foram compostos por dois espaçamentos (45 e 90 cm), conduzidos em três modalidades de cultivo (cultivo da B. ruziziensis exclusiva, cultivo do milho com B. ruziziensis na linha de semeadura e cultivo do milho com B. ruziziensis na entrelinha de semeadura). As características morfogênicas avaliadas foram: as taxas de aparecimento foliar, alongamento foliar, número de folhas vivas e duração de vida das folhas. A braquiária consorciada se mostrou mais produtiva que a braquiária exclusiva, quanto ao número de folhas vivas e duração de vida das folhas. A taxa de alongamento foliar da braquiária exclusiva foi maior no espaçamento de 90 cm. A braquiária em consórcio com o milho constitui-se uma boa alternativa a ser explorada pelos produtores rurais

Characterization and Hydrodesulfurization Activity of CoMo Catalysts Supported on Boron-Doped Sol-Gel Alumina

A series of hydrodesulfurization (HDS) catalysts was prepared by impregnation of Co and Mo on sol-gel B-Al2O3 supports with B/Al ratios of 0, 0.02, 0.04, 0.08, 0.20, 0.32, 0.49, and 0.61. The thiophene HDS and dibenzothiophene (DBT) HDS activities were both maximal for the catalyst with B/Al = 0.04, with respective values 70% and 42% higher than those for an industrial reference catalyst. These maxima in HDS activity correlated with the previously reported presence of isolated BO4 surface species. These BO4 species were responsible for a local maximum in the acidity of the B-Al2O3 supports when B/Al = 0.04. In contrast, the formation of mixed oxides (A9B2 and A2B) or B2O3 that also resulted in enhanced acidity of the B-Al2O3 supports had a detrimental effect on the HDS activity. The 4,6-dimethyldibenzothiophene (4,6-DMDBT) HDS activity over the CoMo/B-Al2O3 catalysts decreased when the B/Al ratio was increased. This was attributed to the strong direct desulfurization character of the CoMo catalysts supported on the B-Al2O3 supports, because high hydrogenation ability toward the C=C double bonds is essential prior to sulfur removal from 4,6-DMDBT. The excellent performance in the thiophene and DBT HDS of the CoMo/B-Al2O3 catalysts is particularly useful for ultra-deep HDS of light fractions
