This study identifies a typology of learning workers by investigating profiles of individuals participating in adult education. Using latent class analysis, we examined four classes and their associations with covariates

A Study of Signal Integrity Issues in Through-Silicon-Via-based 3D ICs

    Get PDF
Abstract-In this paper, we study the signal integrity issues of throughsilicon-via (TSV)-based 3D IC layouts. Unlike the most existing work, our study reports the coupling noise among all nets and all TSVs used in a real processor design implemented in 3D. Our RTL-to-GDSII design flow consists of commercial tools, enhanced with various add-ons to handle TSV and 3D stacking. Using this tool flow, we generate GDSII-level layouts of 3D implementation and perform sign-off-level signal integrity analysis. Based on our 2D vs 3D GDSII comparisons, we found that the overall noise-level of 3D is worse than 2D, but 3D designs have the advantage of significantly reducing the total number of the nosiest nets

Packing Buffer for Efficient Irregular Data access in SIMD Processors

    Get PDF
The performance of an SIMD (Single Instruction Multiple Data) processor is bounded by the memory bottleneck; most of which is due to the overhead for preparing aligned vector data. In this paper, we have added a hardware unit to an SIMD processor to reduce the alignment overhead. The proposed packing buffer contains a small size multi-port memory block for which multiple addresses are generated by using a vector index register. Since the packing buffer has a small size, it requires neither complex hardware nor increased CPU cycle time. DSP benchmarks are used to measure the performance efficiency.이 논문은 지식경제부 출연금으로 ETRI와 시스템반도체산업진흥센터에서 수행한 IT SoC 핵심설계인력양성사업, 그리고 삼성반도체 주식회사의 지원을 받아 수행한 연구결과입니다

The modulated structure and frequency upconversion properties of CaLa2(MoO4)4:Ho3+/Yb3+ phosphors prepared by microwave synthesis

CaLa2_x(MoO4)4:Ho3+/Yb3+ phosphors with the doping concentrations of Ho3+ and Yb3+ (x = Ho3+ + Yb3+, Ho3+ = 0.05; Yb3+ = 0.35, 0.40, 0.45 and 0.50) have been successfully synthesized by the microwave sol-gel method. The modulated and averaged crystal structures of CaLa2_x(MoO4)4:Ho3+/Yb3+ molybdates have been found by the Rietveld method, and the upconversion photoluminescence properties have been investigated. The synthesized particles, being formed after the heat-treatment at 900 °C for 16 h, showed a highly crystallized state. Under the excitation at 980 nm, CaLa2_x(MoO4)4:Ho3+/Yb3+ particles exhibited strong 545 and 655 nm emission bands in the green and red regions. When the Yb3+ :Ho3+ ratios are 9 : 1 and 10: 1, the UC intensity of CaLai.5(MoO4)4:Yb045/Ho0.05 and CaLai45(MoO4)4:Yb0.50/Ho0.05 particles is the highest for different bands. The CIE coordinates calculated for CaLa2_x(MoO4)4:Ho3+/Yb3+ phosphors are related to the yellow color field. The Raman spectrum of undoped CaLa2(MoO4)4 has revealed about 13 narrow lines. The strongest band observed at 906 cirT1 was assigned to the n1 symmetric stretching vibration of MoO4 tetrahedra. The spectra of the samples doped with Ho and Yb, as obtained under the 514.5 nm excitation, were dominated by Ho3+ luminescence over the wavenumber range of >700 cm-1 preventing the recording of the Raman spectra
