Quantum trajectories, feedback and squeezing

Quantum trajectory theory is the best mathematical set up to model continual observations of a quantum system and feedback based on the observed output. Inside this framework, we study how to enhance the squeezing of the fluorescence light emitted by a two-level atom, stimulated by a coherent monochromatic laser. In the presence of a Wiseman-Milburn feedback scheme, based on the homodyne detection of a fraction of the emitted light, we analyze the squeezing dependence on the various control parameters.Comment: 8 pages, 2 figures, "Noise Information & Complexity @ Quantum Scale" Proceeding

Analytical Model of the Forward Operation of 4H-SiC Vertical DMOSFET in the Safe Operating Temperature Range

A new analytical model of 4H-SiC DMOSFETs that is useful to explore their thermal stability is presented. The model is capable to describe, with closed form equations, the DC forward behavior of devices in a wide temperature range, including the effects of parasitic resistances and oxide interface traps. The model allows to analyze the on-set of electro-thermal stability of 4H-SiC DMOSFETs both in triode and in saturation region, and to monitor the impact of the series resistance and traps on reliable operation of devices. The accuracy of the model has been verified by comparisons with numerical simulations that evidence the effect of trap densities in the range [0-1014] cm-2eV-1 for operating temperatures up to 500K. Comparisons with experimental data of 1.2kV and 1.7kV commercial devices are used to validate the model

Influence of temperature and dimension in a 4H-SiC vertical power MOSFET

A study of the impact of dimension and temperature on a state of the art 4H-SiC power vertical DMOSFET has been carried out using drift-diffusion calculations in conjunction with electrical characterizations to extract physical parameters and doping profiles in a 6 μm channel length device. The model presented in this paper includes the effect of trapping in the channel/oxide interface. Using these parameters, the performance of corresponding lateral and vertical scaled devices are studied. Electrothermal simulations showing self-heating effects are also carried out. The results are qualitatively discussed with the help of an analytical physical model, which considers the interplay between the different device resistances. At low drain bias, the drain current is increased by 42.86% (ID = 5 A at VG = 20 V) when reducing the dimension vertically, whereas it is decreased by 28.57% (ID = 2.5 A at VG = 20 V) when reducing the dimension laterally. These effects are enhanced at high drain bias. In addition, the effect of dimension reduction for breakdown voltage, electric field and impact ionization is investigated. A substantial reduction in breakdown voltage was found when the vertical dimensions were decreased as compared to the lateral dimensions

La valutazione on-going dei Programmi di Sviluppo Rurale 2007-20131

The on-going evaluation is established as part of Rural Development Programmes 2007-13 (RDPs) and includes the ex-ante, mid-term, ex-post evaluations and all the other activities which the Managing Authorities (MAs) consider useful for improving quality, efficiency and effectiveness of the programme. The Common Monitoring and Evaluation Framework (CMEF) provides a comprehensive set of guidance documents on the general principles, tasks and governance of evaluations, measure fiches, common evaluation questions, common indicators and their choice, definition and use. The Italian experience is that, beyond accountability purposes, the on-going evaluation support the continuous learning on the programme implementation and the capacity building of the MAs

Fisheries of coastal and inland aquaculture areas are preparing for a second phase of local development using the Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Fund (EMFF) for the 2014-2020 period. Local communities will have new opportunities to address territorial challenges, combining European structural and investment funds (ESIFs) to deal with issues such as added value for local seafood products and aquaculture, for the improvement of the integrated management of coastal areas, support for fishing communities, and fish farmers and manufacturers to become both local drives and beneficiaries of the blue economy. The paper discusses distinctive elements of fisheries, aquaculture regional policy and Lucan processes along the coastal territory
