Active learning aims to strengthen and facilitate the stimulus and response of students in learning, so the learning process becomes fun, not boring for them. By providing active learning strategies for students can help their memory, so they can be delivered to the learning objectives successfully. This is not considered in conventional learning. The purpose of this study is to determine the application of learning through the active student learning approach in SMP Negeri 2 South Dampal and to find out the obstacles and solutions encountered in the application of learning through the student active learning approach. The research method used is a qualitative approach by describing and interpreting the meaning of data. Furthermore, to obtain data in accordance with the problem, data collection is done by observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentationThe results showed that the application of active learning can be achieved well, by observing students' attitudes and changes both in cognitive, affective, and psychomotor values

The purpose of this study is to describe the application of the cooperative learning model type Think-Pair Share that can improve student learning outcomes in set operations in class VII A MTs Alkhairaat Kalukubula. This type of research is class action research which refers to the design of Kemmis and Mc. Taggart, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subject of this study was VII grade A MTs Alkhairaat Kalukubula students. Data collection techniques were obtained through observation, written tests, interviews and field notes. This study consisted of two cycles, and each cycle was carried out in two meetings. The results showed that the application of the cooperative learning model type Think-Pair Share can improve student learning outcomes in set operating material in class VIIA MTs Alkhairaat Kalukubula by following phases, namely: (1) giving orientation, (2) think, (3) pair, (4) share, and (5) award

ABSTRACT Three isolates of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) from the fermented food product, Budu, were identified as genus lactobacillus (Lactobacillus casei LA17, Lactobacillus plantarum LA22 and L. paracasei LA02), and the highest population was Lb. paracasei LA02. The antibacterial agent produced by the isolates inhibited the growth of a range of gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms. Antimicrobial sensitivity test to 18 different types of antibiotic were evaluated using the disc diffusion method. Inhibition zone diameter was measured and calculated from the means of five determinations and expressed in terms of resistance or susceptibility. All the LAB isolates were resistant to colestin sulphate, streptomycin, amikacin, norfloxacin, nalidixic acid, mecillinam, sulphanethoxazole/ trimethoprim, kanamycin, neomycin, bacitracin and gentamycin but susceptible to erythromycin, penicillin G, chloramphenicol, tetracycline, ampicillin and nitrofurantion

Exploring the impact of select anchor groups for norbornadiene/quadricyclane single-molecule switches

To achieve the ultimate limit of device miniaturization, it is necessary to have a comprehensive understanding of the structure–property relationship in functional molecular systems used in single-molecule electronics. This study reports the synthesis and characterization of a novel series of norbornadiene derivatives capped with thioether and thioester anchor groups. Utilizing the mechanically controllable break junction technique, the impact of these capping groups on conductance across single-molecule junctions is investigated. Among the selection of anchor groups, norbornadiene capped with thioacetate and tert-butyl groups exhibits higher conductance (G ≈ 4 × 10−4 G0) compared to methyl thioether (G ≈ 2 × 10−4 G0). Electronic transmission through the considered set of single-molecule junctions has been simulated. The computational results for electron transport across these junctions align closely with the experimental findings, with the thioacetate- and tert-butyl-substituted systems outperforming the methyl thioether-capped derivative. In terms of junction stability, the methyl thioether-capped system is the most resilient, maintaining consistent conductance even after approximately 10 000 cycles. Meanwhile, the likelihood of observing molecular plateaus in both the thioacetate- and tert-butyl-substituted systems declines over time. These findings substantially advance both the design and understanding of functional molecular systems in the realm of single-molecule electronics, particularly in the context of molecular photoswitches.QN/van der Zant La
