Research on temperature field and microstructure distribution of cross wedge rolling based on square billet

    Get PDF
With the deepening and popularization of the cross wedge rolling process, the requirements for the cross wedge rolling blanks have become wider and wider. Relying only on the traditional round blanks will restrict the promotion of the cross wedge rolling process to a certain extent. The emergence of the square billet is a breakthrough in the selection of raw materials, but related research is relatively scarce. Therefore, this paper conducts a finite element simulation for the rolling process of the square billet. Four characteristic points are taken on the longitudinal section of the billet to track the temperature change. Research on the law of field changes. At the same time, the change of the grain size and dynamic recrystallization percentage of the rolled piece during the rolling process is studied. Simulation and experiment are combined to obtain the change rule of the average grain size of the characteristic points of the longitudinal section of the billet with time

Tilting separation analysis of bottom-up mask projection stereolithography based on cohesive zone model

    Get PDF
Compared with top-down stereolithography, bottom-up mask projection stereolithography can reduce the start filling volume of vat and is able to build components with high-viscosity materials. For general photosensitive materials, a separation process is required to detach the cured layer from the resin vat surface in order to accomplish the fabrication of current layer. The separation process can be achieved without damaging the part by utilizing appropriate platform motions including pulling-up, tilting and shearing, and covering inert film on the vat surface. The tilting separation is used in both industrial and academic area. However, there is a limited corresponding study compared with pulling-up separation. The mechanism of tilting separation and its effects on separation force and fabrication process are not clear. In this paper, an analytical model based on cohesive zone model was formed and a specialized experimental system was built. Experimental studies on the tilting effects on cohesive stiffness and fracture energy were conducted by collecting and analyzing separation force data. The results showed that changing exposure area function or the part fabrication orientation changed the cohesive stiffness, and increasing tilting separation velocity caused different increase in fracture energy when using different inert films. The results of this investigation can be used to choose the reasonable platform motion and process parameters by considering the part geometry and the characteristics of both inert film and materials

Origins and evolution of WUSCHEL-related homeobox protein family in plant kingdom

Published 6 January 2014WUSCHEL-related homeobox (WOX) is a large group of transcription factors specifically found in plants. WOX members contain the conserved homeodomain essential for plant development by regulating cell division and differentiation. However, the evolutionary relationship of WOX members in plant kingdom remains to be elucidated. In this study, we searched 350 WOX members from 50 species in plant kingdom. Linkage analysis of WOX protein sequences demonstrated that amino acid residues 141-145 and 153-160 located in the homeodomain are possibly associated with the function of WOXs during the evolution. These 350 members were grouped into 3 clades: the first clade represents the conservative WOXs from the lower plant algae to higher plants; the second clade has the members from vascular plant species; the third clade has the members only from spermatophyte species. Furthermore, among the members of Arabidopsis thaliana and Oryza sativa, we observed ubiquitous expression of genes in the first clade and the diversified expression pattern of WOX genes in distinct organs in the second clade and the third clade. This work provides insight into the origin and evolutionary process of WOXs, facilitating their functional investigations in the future.Gaibin Lian, Zhiwen Ding, Qin Wang, Dabing Zhang, and Jie X
