Teachers' recognition of school bullying according to background variables and type of bullying
How teachers identify and judge school bullying may affect their willingness to intervene in bullying situations and influence their strategies for doing so. This study aimed to investigate whether there were significant differences in teachers' identification of bullying incidents according to background variables (gender, teaching experience, and education level). The participants of this study were 150 primary school and middle school teachers in Taiwan, A 24-item Recognition of Bullying incidents Questionnaire (RBIQ) was used in this study to explore whether teachers can identify physical, verbal, and relational scenarios as bullying or non-bullying incidents. A mixed-model two way ANOVA was used to analyze this data. Results revealed that teachers' teaching experiences significantly interacted with behavioral types, and teachers' education levels also sigm candy interacted with behavioral types. In addition, no gender differences in the identification of bullying were observed. Overall, teachers were more likely to identifi physical bullying incidents than relational ones. The results of this study suggest that teachers should participate in training to help them identify bullying incidents, particularly when these involve relational bullying
Bending Stress Analysis of Laminated Foldable Touch Panel
AbstractThe touch panel technology has been developed in recent years, and the foldable touch panel is one of the newly attractive characteristics. This article focuses on the bending stress analysis of foldable touch panel, composed of plastic substrate PET, adhesive layer, plastic layer PI, organic layer and conductive layer ITO to form a seven-layer laminated structure. By applying four-point bending, the stress distribution of the touch panel under different radius of curvature was analyzed. The results show that the maximum von Mises stress occurred in the ITO layer and the maximum von Mises stress increased from 0.497GPa to 1.242GPa with decreasing radius of curvature. The region near the center of the touch panel has higher von Mises stress, and the relation between the radius of curvature and the maximum von Mises stress exhibits a non-linear feature
Housing and stock market nexus in the US
Purpose: The research aims to study the causality between the US stock and housing markets in the period from 1890 to 2014. Design/Methodology/Approach: The Granger-Causality bootstrap rolling-window test is used for studying the causality between the stock as well as real estate markets in the US. Findings: The results provide robust evidence that the causality running from the housing in the stock markets has positive effects between 1918 and 1922, 1926 and 1931, 1953 and 1955 but negative effects between 1932 and 1934 and from 1971 to 1972, displaying the occurrence of a credit-price effect. In contrast, the S&P 500 stomped the housing market between 1965 and 1970, when the wealth effect dominated in the US economy. Specifically, when the negative causality of both markets happens, investors gain by allocating housing and stocks assets as various portfolios. Practical Implications: This finding specifies that housing markets may be employed to predict stock markets and vice versa in the US. Studying both markets’ causality offers policymakers and practitioners more situation on where the market may be going and how it works over time. Originality/Value: Original research.peer-reviewe
A COMPARISON OF SINGLE- AND DOUBLE-LEG RUNNING VERTICAL JUMPS IN VOLLEYBALL
Single- and double-leg vertical jumps are often performed in volleyball games. But the contribution from individual leg in single- and double-leg running vertical jump skills in volleyball has not been revealed. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences between single- and double- leg running vertical jumps (1-LRVJ and 2-LRVJ) on the biomechanical characteristics. Ten male college volleyball players voluntarily participated in this study. Two volleyball running vertical jumps were executed randomly. Three trials of each running vertical jump were recorded for each subject. Data were collected using six infra-red Qualisys motion capture cameras at 180 Hz sampling rate and two AMTI force platforms at 1800 Hz sampling rate, respectively. The jump height of 2-LRVJ was significantly higher than 1-LRVJ (P< .05), In push-off phase, 1-LRVJ had less angle change, but greater moment and higher impact force (P< .05). These results suggested that 1-LRVJ product higher leg stiffness with 2-LRVJ, it also increase higher risk of injury. We suggested using two- leg jumping style to enhance jump high, and avoid lower limbs injury
BIOMECHANICAL ANALYSIS DURING COUNTERMOVEMENT JUMP IN CHILDREN AND ADULTS
This study was to examine the biomechanical characteristics of children and adults during countermovement jump. Seven children and seven adult males were recruited to the study. A Peak high-speed camera (120Hz) synchronized with a force plate (600Hz) were used to record vertical jumping action. The kinetic parameters were calculated by using inverse dynamic method. Results showed that the children had both immature joint function prior to propulsion and inadequate knee and ankle joints function during propulsion. It is concluded that a lack of form in jumping strategy was performed during vertical jumpings in the children's group in terms of the kinetic methods was performed. This information may be used in following studies about countermovement jump, avoiding some important information needed only by kinematic analysis, it will be more complete to apply kinetic analysis for children movement researches
A Polygon Model for Wireless Sensor Network Deployment with Directional Sensing Areas
The modeling of the sensing area of a sensor node is essential for the deployment algorithm of wireless sensor networks (WSNs). In this paper, a polygon model is proposed for the sensor node with directional sensing area. In addition, a WSN deployment algorithm is presented with topology control and scoring mechanisms to maintain network connectivity and improve sensing coverage rate. To evaluate the proposed polygon model and WSN deployment algorithm, a simulation is conducted. The simulation results show that the proposed polygon model outperforms the existed disk model and circular sector model in terms of the maximum sensing coverage rate
