Brunnian Braids and Lie Algebras
Brunnian braids have interesting relations with homotopy groups of spheres.
In this work, we study the graded Lie algebra of the descending central series
related to Brunnian subgroup of the pure braid group. A presentation of this

Polyploidization delay in rat hepatocytes under liver growth inhibition by hypokinesia
A study of young rats, weighing 55 to 59 g, after being for 10 days in conditions of limited mobility, shows a retardation of body growth as well as that of liver growth. The decrease in the rate of growth is accompanied by a reduction of cell proliferation and by delay polyploidization of hepatocytes in the liver of experimental rats. Macroeconomics modelling on UK GDP growth by neural computing
This paper presents multilayer neural networks used in UK gross domestic product estimation. These networks are trained by backpropagation and genetic algorithm based methods. Different from backpropagation guided by gradients of the performance, the genetic algorithm directly evaluates the performance of multiple sets of neural networks in parallel and then uses the analysed results to breed new networks that tend to be better suited to the problems in hand. It is shown that this guided evolution leads to globally optimal networks and more accurate results, with less adjustment of the algorithm needed
High-quality positrons from a multi-proton bunch driven hollow plasma wakefield accelerator
By means of hollow plasma, multiple proton bunches work well in driving
nonlinear plasma wakefields and accelerate electrons to energy frontier with
preserved beam quality. However, the acceleration of positrons is different
because the accelerating structure is strongly charge dependent. There is a
discrepancy between keeping a small normalized emittance and a small energy
spread. This results from the conflict that the plasma electrons used to
provide focusing to the multiple proton bunches dilute the positron bunch. By
loading an extra electron bunch to repel the plasma electrons and meanwhile
reducing the plasma density slightly to shift the accelerating phase with a
conducive slope to the positron bunch, the positron bunch can be accelerate to
400 GeV (40% of the driver energy) with an energy spread as low as 1% and well
preserved normalized emittance. The successful generation of high quality and
high energy positrons paves the way to the future energy frontier lepton

Organization of the channel-switching process in parallel computer systems based on a matrix optical switch
After a classification and analysis of electronic and optoelectronic switching devices, the design principles and structure of a matrix optical switch is described. The switching and pair-exclusion operations in this type of switch are examined, and a method for the optical switching of communication channels is elaborated. Finally, attention is given to the structural organization of a parallel computer system with a matrix optical switch
Object Picture of Quasinormal Modes for Stringy Black Holes
We study the quasinormal modes (QNMs) for stringy black holes. By using
numerical calculation, the relations between the QNMs and the parameters of
black holes are minutely shown. For (1+1)-dimensional stringy black hole, the
real part of the quasinormal frequency increases and the imaginary part of the
quasinormal frequency decreases as the mass of the black hole increases.
Furthermore, the dependence of the QNMs on the charge of the black hole and the
flatness parameter is also illustrated. For (1+3)-dimensional stringy black
hole, increasing either the event horizon or the multipole index, the real part
of the quasinormal frequency decreases. The imaginary part of the quasinormal
frequency increases no matter whether the event horizon is increased or the
multipole index is decreased.Comment: 4 pages, 5 figure
