Drinfeld Twists and Algebraic Bethe Ansatz of the Supersymmetric t-J Model
We construct the Drinfeld twists (factorizing -matrices) for the
supersymmetric t-J model. Working in the basis provided by the -matrix (i.e.
the so-called -basis), we obtain completely symmetric representations of the
monodromy matrix and the pseudo-particle creation operators of the model. These
enable us to resolve the hierarchy of the nested Bethe vectors for the

Modelling and device simulation of photonic crystal surface emitting lasers based on modal index analysis
We present a novel semi-analytical method utilising modal index analysis, for modelling the field resonances of photonic crystal surface emitting lasers (PCSELs). This method shows very good agreement with other modelling techniques in terms of mode calculations, with the added advantages of computational simplicity, the calculation of threshold gain, and rapid analysis of finite structures. We are able to model the effect of external lateral feedback and simulations indicate that the near-field peak can be electronically displaced and the threshold as well as the frequency can be controlled through external in-plane feedback, paving the way to dynamic control of PCSELs
Coherently coupled photonic-crystal surface-emitting laser array
The realization of a 1 × 2 coherently coupled photonic crystal surface emitting laser array is reported. New routes to power scaling are discussed and the electronic control of coherence is demonstrated
Electrochemical synthesis of mesoporous gold films toward mesospace-stimulated optical properties
Mesoporous gold (Au) films with tunable pores are expected to provide fascinating optical properties stimulated by the mesospaces, but they have not been realized yet because of the difficulty of controlling the Au crystal growth. Here, we report a reliable soft-templating method to fabricate mesoporous Au films using stable micelles of diblock copolymers, with electrochemical deposition advantageous for precise control of Au crystal growth. Strong field enhancement takes place around the center of the uniform mesopores as well as on the walls between the pores, leading to the enhanced light scattering as well as surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS), which is understandable, for example, from Babinet principles applied for the reverse system of nanoparticle ensembles. © 2015 Macmillan Publishers Limited. interference and diffraction with quantum approach. Otherwise, they can be

Particle Motion Around Tachyon Monopole
Recently, Li and Liu have studied global monoole of tachyon in a four
dimensional static space-time. We analyze the motion of massless and massive
particles around tachyon monopole. Interestingly, for the bending of light rays
due to tachyon monopole instead of getting angle of deficit we find angle of
surplus. Also we find that the tachyon monopole exerts an attractive

Neutrino Clustering in the Galaxy with a Global Monopole
In spherically symmetric, static spacetime, we show that only j=1/2 fermions
can satisfy both Einstein's field equation and Dirac's equation. It is also
shown that neutrinos are able to have effective masses and cluster in the
galactic halo when they are coupled to a global monopole situated at the

The Nuclear Sigma Term in the Skyrme Model: Pion-Nucleus Interaction
The nuclear sigma term is calculated including the nuclear matrix element of
the derivative of the NN interaction with respect to the quark mass,
. The NN potential is evaluated in the
skyrmion-skyrmion picture within the quantized product ansatz. The contribution
of the NN potential to the nuclear sigma term provides repulsion to the
pion-nucleus interaction. The strength of the s-wave pion-nucleus optical
potential is estimated including such contribution. The results are consistent

Drinfeld twist and symmetric Bethe vectors of the open XYZ chain with non-diagonal boundary terms
With the help of the Drinfeld twist or factorizing F-matrix for the
eight-vertex solid-on-solid (SOS) model, we find that in the F-basis provided
by the twist the two sets of pseudo-particle creation operators simultaneously
take completely symmetric and polarization free form. This allows us to obtain
the explicit and completely symmetric expressions of the two sets of Bethe

INSIG1 influences obesity-related hypertriglyceridemia in humans
In our analysis of a quantitative trait locus (QTL) for plasma triglyceride (TG) levels [logarithm of odds (LOD) = 3.7] on human chromosome 7q36, we examined 29 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) across INSIG1, a biological candidate gene in the region. Insulin-induced genes (INSIGs) are feedback mediators of cholesterol and fatty acid synthesis in animals, but their role in human lipid regulation is unclear. In our cohort, the INSIG1 promoter SNP rs2721 was associated with TG levels (P = 2 × 10−3 in 1,560 individuals of the original linkage cohort, P = 8 × 10−4 in 920 unrelated individuals of the replication cohort, combined P = 9.9 × 10−6). Individuals homozygous for the T allele had 9% higher TG levels and 2-fold lower expression of INSIG1 in surgical liver biopsy samples when compared with individuals homozygous for the G allele. Also, the T allele showed additional binding of nuclear proteins from HepG2 liver cells in gel shift assays. Finally, the variant rs7566605 in INSIG2, the only homolog of INSIG1, enhances the effect of rs2721 (P = 0.00117). The variant rs2721 alone explains 5.4% of the observed linkage in our cohort, suggesting that additional, yet-undiscovered genes and sequence variants in the QTL interval also contribute to alterations in TG levels in humans
