Spherical collapse in quintessence models with zero speed of sound
We study the spherical collapse model in the presence of quintessence with
negligible speed of sound. This case is particularly motivated for w<-1 as it
is required by stability. As pressure gradients are negligible, quintessence
follows dark matter during the collapse. The spherical overdensity behaves as a
separate closed FLRW universe, so that its evolution can be studied exactly. We
derive the critical overdensity for collapse and we use the extended
Press-Schechter theory to study how the clustering of quintessence affects the
dark matter mass function. The effect is dominated by the modification of the
linear dark matter growth function. A larger effect occurs on the total mass
function, which includes the quintessence overdensities. Indeed, here
quintessence constitutes a third component of virialized objects, together with
baryons and dark matter, and contributes to the total halo mass by a fraction ~
(1+w) Omega_Q / Omega_m. This gives a distinctive modification of the total

Extraversion and neuroticism in sexually dysfunctional men suffering from erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation: a cross-sectional study
The role of personality traits in sexual complaints and dysfunctions is ever more evident. However, the literature is very scarce as to the possible relationships between such personality traits and specific sexual dysfunctions like ED, PE or both, their subtypes as to time of onset and severity levels. The main aim of the present study was to investigate if Neuroticism and Extraversion have different roles and trends in men suffering from PE and/or ED, both lifelong and acquired. Moreover, we verified if, by adopting DSM-IV-TR and DSM-5 criteria for diagnosing PE, some differences emerged in percentages of diagnosed cases. The sample consisted of 222 patients aged 18-70. The International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF-15) was used to assess erectile function, and the Premature Ejaculation Severity Index (PESI) was used to assess the severity of PE dysfunction. Neuroticism and Extraversion were measured with the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire-Revised (EPQ-R). In our results, Neuroticism and Extraversion were dependent on the kind of sexual dysfunction and its severity. These results suggest that type,

Robust MPC-Based Gait Generation in Humanoids
We introduce a robust gait generation framework for humanoid robots based on our Intrinsically Stable Model Predictive Control (IS-MPC) scheme, which features a stability constraint to guarantee internal stability. With respect to the original version, the new framework adds multiple components addressing the robustness problem from different angles: an observer-based disturbance compensation mechanism; a ZMP constraint restriction that provides robustness with respect to bounded disturbances; and a step timing adaptation module to prevent the loss of feasibility. Feasibility-Driven Step Timing Adaptation for Robust MPC-Based Gait Generation in Humanoids
The feasibility region of a Model Predictive Control (MPC) algorithm is the subset of the state space in which the constrained optimization problem to be solved is feasible. In our recent Intrinsically Stable MPC (IS-MPC) method for humanoid gait generation, feasibility means being able to satisfy the dynamic balance condition, the kinematic constraints on footsteps as well as an explicit stability condition. Here, we exploit the feasibility concept to build a step timing adapter that, at each control cycle, modifies the duration of the current step whenever a feasibility loss is imminent due, e.g., to an external perturbation. The proposed approach allows the IS-MPC algorithm to maintain its linearity and adds a negligible computational burden to the overall scheme. Simulations and experimental results where the robot is pushed while walking showcase the performance of the proposed approach
A commercial macroalgae extract in a plant-protein rich diet diminished saturated fatty acids of Oncorhynchus mykiss Walbaum fillets
Seaweeds are considered novel feed ingredients, nutraceutical compounds and source of pigments and proteins. They appear to possess bioactive properties, such as hypolipidemic, antioxidant and immune-stimulative actions; furthermore, their proteins are considered just as nutritious as terrestrial vegetables. In the present work, rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss Walbaum) was fed for 95 days with three diets: a fishmeal-based positive control diet (C+), a vegetable protein-based negative control diet (C−) and a diet similar to C − where 5% of soybean concentrate was replaced by a commercial blend of seaweeds (T). The monitored parameters were fish performance, physical and marketable characteristics, fillet oxidative status and fatty acid content. The estimated indices of enzyme activities involved in lipid metabolism were calculated. Fish performances were reduced in C − and T fish; C − and T fillet fatty acid (FA) profiles globally showed the same pattern and were distinct from C+, i.e. with a lower content of polyunsaturated FAs and a higher content of monounsaturated and polyunsaturated n6 FAs; contrarywise, saturated FAs were significantly lower in T group in comparison to the other two groups (p <.01). The estimated indices of enzyme activity highlighted differences between dietary groups; desaturase activities of C18 and n3 FAs were higher in T in comparison to C− (p <.001). A slight impoverishment of antioxidant activity was found in T compared to C + group. Dietary seaweeds seemed to be capable of influencing fillet FA composition as well as the activity of enzymes related to lipid metabolism. On risk-based maintenance: A comprehensive review of three approaches to track the impact of consequence modelling for predicting maintenance actions
Since gas plants are progressively increasing near urban areas, a comprehensive tool to plan maintenance and reduce the risk arising from their operations is required. To this end, a comparison of three Risk-Based Maintenance methodologies able to point out maintenance priorities for the most critical components, is presented in this paper. Moreover, while the literature is mostly focused on probabilistic analysis, a particular attention is directed towards consequence analysis throughout this study. The first developed technique is characterized by a Hierarchical Bayesian Network to perform the occurrence analysis and a Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis to assess the magnitude of the adverse outcomes. The second approach is a Quantitative Risk Analysis carried out via a software named Safeti. Finally, another software called Synergi Plant is adopted for the third methodology, which provides a Risk-Based Inspection plan, through a semiquantitative risk analysis. The proposed study can assist asset manager in adopting the most appropriate methodology to their context, while highlighting priority components. To demonstrate the applicability of the approaches and compare their rankings, a Natural Gas Regulating and Measuring Station is considered as case study. A design method for improving assembly and environmental sustainability in packaging solutions: a case study in household appliances
By using a functional requirement analysis, through Design for Manufacture and Assembly and Design for Environment principles, this paper aims at showing a new design method to improve the overall assembly features and environmental sustainability of a packaging solution. This method provides to rank functional requirements according to three different design specifications and also to the number of relationships they have with each other. At the same time, a ranked order of importance for the packaging parts has been realised, considering the number of performed functions. The purpose of this method is to support the designers in focusing their attention on the most important packaging parts and, at the same time, giving them a clear idea of which are the most important functional requirements to be satisfied. This study has been focused on domestic household packaging, but the provided method can be extended to any particular packaging solution and its findings are still valid. According to the Design for Environmental perspective, the actual and the new resulting packaging solutions have been then compared through Life Cycle Assessment method. The results have shown the new packaging solution being able to cut down the environmental impacts, on average, of approximately 30%
