Evaluation of the Financial Situation of a Company

Cílem diplomové práce je zhodnocení finanční situace a výkonnosti podniku. Teoretická část práce se zabývá zejména elementárními metodami finanční analýzy a ekonomickou přidanou hodnotou jako měřítko výkonnosti. Tato teorie je dále v praktické části aplikována na konkrétní podnik. Je zde proveden výpočet vybraných ukazatelů finanční analýzy a ekonomické přidané hodnoty. Na základě získaných výsledků je zhodnocena celková situace podniku s doporučením na řešení případných nedostatků.The objective of this master´s thesis is evaluation of the financial situation and the efficiency of a company. The theoretical part is focused on the elementary methods of the financial analysis and the Economic Value Added as an efficiency measure. This theory is then applied to a particular company. The practical part contains calculation of selected ratios of the financial analysis and the Economic Value Added. The entire financial situation of the company is evaluated on the basis of results, included recommendation of appropriate deficiencies.

České překladové koreláty anglických tázacích dovětků se stejnou polaritou

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá anglickými tázacími dovětky se stejnou polaritou a jejich českými překladovými koreláty. Práce je zaměřena na strukturu, tvorbu, polaritu a intonaci anglických tázacích dovětků se stejnou polaritou a zkoumá různé funkce těchto dovětků. Jelikož v češtině neexistuje analogická struktura anglických tázacích dovětků, jsou české překladové koreláty velice různorodé a představují zajímavý materiál pro porovnání. Hlavní funkce anglických tázacích dovětků se stejnou polaritou v promluvě se liší vzhledem k tomu, zda je dovětek připojen k oznamovací, rozkazovací, tázací nebo k větě eliptické a tyto funkce, se zaměřením na různé způsoby překladu tohoto (v češtině neexistujícího) jevu, jsou detailně rozebrány v analytické části této práce. Jelikož tázací dovětky se stejnou polaritou nepředstavují častý lingvistický jev, k získání 102 příkladů bylo použito celkem 17 různých knih. Excerpce byla provedena pomocí programu ParaConc, který zpracovává data z paralelních korpusů a pomocí Britského národního korpusu (The British National Corpus).The present study deals with English question tags of the same polarity and their Czech translation equivalents. It focuses on question tags from the point of view of their structure, formation, polarity and intonation and describes their various discourse functions. Since English question tags do not have an analogous construction in Czech, they provide an interesting construction for comparison. The discourse functions of the question tags differ according to the type of the main clause to which they are appended, i.e. declarative, imperative, interrogative or incomplete. These functions, together with the focus on the means of their translation into Czech, are analysed in detail in the empirical part of the study. Testování anglických kolokací u českých studentů angličtiny

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá anglickými kolokaci a jejich testováním u českých studentů angličtiny. Význam kolokací v jazyce a frazeologie jako lingvistické disciplíny byl objeven teprve nedávno a proto se teoretická část nejprve zaměřuje na ustálená slovní spojení a frazeologii z obecného hlediska. Je zde stručně nastíněna historie a základní principy frazeologie a následně hlavní přístupy k této lingvistické disciplíně. Další část je zaměřena na ustálená slovní spojení, zejména na jejich kategorizaci a důležité typologie. Hlavním bodem práce jsou kolokace, se zaměřením na hlavní přístupy ke kolokacím, na kritéria sloužící k jejich odlišení od ostatních typů ustálených slovních spojení a z nich plynoucí definice a klasifikace. Dále je také stručně shrnut dosavadní výzkum kolokací. Analytická část (založená na studii S. Granger) zkoumá a popisuje výsledky testování anglických kolokací u českých studentů angličtiny. Hlavním cílem této části je zjistit, zda (nebo do jaké míry) výsledky testů potvrdí výsledky Granger a také prozkoumat míru úspěšnosti českých studentů u jak (pasivního) rozpoznávání, tak u (aktivního) užívání anglických kolokací.The present study focuses on English collocations and their testing in Czech learners of English. Since the importance of collocations and phraseology as a linguistic discipline has not been recognised until recently, these concepts are introduced from the general point of view. First, the attention is given to the history of phraseology and its underlying principles as well as to the major approaches to it. Second, phraseological units are described from the point of view of their categorisation and of some influential typologies of these units. The main focus of interest is collocations, particularly major approaches to them as well as criteria commonly used to describe and delimit collocations from other types of prefabricated units and their definition and classification. Previous research on collocations in learner English is also outlined. The analytical part (based on Granger's (1998) study) analyzes the results of testing English collocations in Czech learners of English. Musikfachwörter in fachfremden Kontexten

This article focuses on the use of musical terminology in new contexts which have no connection with the original musical context. In these new contexts, musical terms are used in a figurative meaning, serving as metaphors to describe often highly complicated aspects of reality. Based on the journalistic texts in the DeReKo corpus, the paper explores the ratio between the use of selected terms in musical contexts and non-musical contexts, investigates which aspects of reality are described via musical terminology, and analyzes the functions that these metaphors perform
