Metode ustanovljivanja oÅ”teÄenosti zrna žitarica skladiÅ”nim Å”tetnicima
Zaraza skladiÅ”ta Å”tetnim kukcima uÄestala je pojava te uzrokuje mnogobrojne neželjene posljedice. Svojom ishranom te ekskrementima koje ostavljaju na proizvodima skladiÅ”ni Å”tetnici smanjuju vrijednost uskladiÅ”tenog proizvoda. SkladiÅ”ni Å”tetnici u odreÄenim zemljama dovode do gubitka cjelokupnog uskladiÅ”tenog proizvoda i do 10 %. Kako bi se na vrijeme uoÄila zaraza i provele potrebne mjere za saniranje i smanjivane Å”tete, potrebno je pravovremeno provesti metode ustanovljivanja zaraze uskladiÅ”tenih proizvoda. Cilj ovoga rada bio je provesti pet metoda ustanovljivanja zaraženosti zrna žitarica skladiÅ”nim Å”tetnicima, usporediti dobivene rezultate te odrediti koja je od provedenih metoda najuÄinkovitija i najekonomiÄnija. Istraživanje je provedeno na 48 uzoraka zrna Äetiriju vrsta žitarica (jari jeÄam, kukuruz, pir i pÅ”enica). Provedene i usporeÄene metode jesu: vizualni pregled zrna, metoda bojenja kiselim fuksinom, metoda bojenja kalijevim permanganatom, metoda flotacije i kolorimetrijska metoda ustanovljivanja oÅ”teÄenja na zrnu. Rezultati provedenih metoda dali su uvid u postotak oÅ”teÄenja pojedinog uzorka. NajveÄe oÅ”teÄenje zrna u ovom istraživanju ustanovljeno je u uzorcima pira i jarog jeÄma. Najbrža i najekonomiÄnija metoda ustanovljivanja oÅ”teÄenja na uskladiÅ”tenom zrnu žitarica bila je metoda flotacije, meÄutim potrebno je provesti analizu isplivanog zrna da bi se ustanovila priroda oÅ”teÄenja ili ju nadopuniti nekom od metoda bojenja. Ekonomski najisplativija metoda u ovom istraživanju bila je metoda bojenja kalijevim permanganatom. Svim provedenim metodama ustanovljena su veÄa oÅ”teÄenja zrna od onih ustanovljenih vizualnim pregledom. Glavni je zakljuÄak ovoga istraživanja da vizualni pregled uskladiÅ”tenog zrna nije dostatna metoda za ustanovljivanje zaraze skladiÅ”nim Å”tetnicima te treba biti nadopunjena drugim metodama radi pravovremene detekcije zaraze i provedbe zaÅ”tit
Optical Aspect of Deformation Analysis in the Bone-Denture Complex
The aim of this study was to register and measure any deformation of mandible models under load. The method for full field measurement of strain is done by using the ARAMIS three-dimensional image correlation system. The system uses two digital cameras that provide a synchronized stereo view of the specimen and the results show the complete strain field during the tests. The biggest deformation values were just under the working force of the biggest intensity 500 N, and for the region of the lower second premolar the deformation is 625 mm. The following study is presented that highlight the use of stereometric measuring system for modern research. It is shown that this measuring methodology can capture the trends of the experiments
Stanje tvrdog i mekog periimplantnog tkiva u estetskoj regiji gornje vilice posle prezervacije alveolarnog grebena beta-trikalcijum fosfatom sa kolagenom tip I - studija sa jednogodiÅ”njim periodom praÄenja
Background/Aim. Alveolar ridge dimensional alterations following tooth extraction in the anterior maxilla often result in an inadequate bone volume for a correct implant placement. In order to obtain optimal bone volume various bone graft substitutes have become commercially available and widely used for socket grafting. The aim of this study was to examine and compare long-term clinical outcomes of dental implant therapy in the maxillary esthetic zone, after socket grafting with beta-tricalcium phosphate (TCP) combined with collagen type I, either with or without barrier membrane and flap surgery, after a 12-month follow-up. Methods. Twenty healthy patients were allocated to either C group (beta-TCP and type I collagen without mucoperiosteal flap coverage) or C+M group (beta-TCP and type I collagen barrier membrane with mucoperiosteal flap coverage). Following clinical parameters were assessed: implant stability (evaluated by a resonance frequency analysis - RFA), periimplant soft tissue stability (sulcus bleeding index - SBI, Mombelli sulcus bleeding index - MBI, periimplant sulcus depth, keratinized gingiva width, gingival level) and marginal bone level at the retroalveolar radiograms. Results. Within C+M group, RFA values significantly increased 12 weeks after implant installation compared to primary RFA values. Comparison between investigated groups showed a significantly reduced keratinized gingiva width in the C+M group compared to the C group after 3, 6, 9 and 12 months. Comparison between groups revealed significantly lower gingival level values in the C+M group at 9th and 12th month when compared to the C group. Conclusion. Implant treatment in the anterior maxilla could be effective when using a 9 months alveolar ridge preservation healing with combined treatment with beta-tricalcium phosphate and type I collagen, with regard to the peri-implant soft and hard tissue stability.Uvod/Cilj. Posle ekstrakcije zuba, dimenzionalne promene alveolarnog grebena u estetskoj regiji gornje vilice za posledicu Äesto imaju nedovoljnu koliÄinu kosti za ugradnju zubnih implanata. U vezi sa tim, primenjuju se razliÄiti koÅ”tani zamenici sa ciljem oÄuvanja dimenzija alveolarnog grebena posle ekstrakcije zuba. Cilj rada bio je da se, posle prezervacije alveolarnog grebena beta-trikalcijum fosfatom (TCP) sa kolagenom tip 1, sa barijernom membranom i mukoperiostalnim režnjem i bez nje, ispitaju i uporede kliniÄki ishodi zarastanja posle ugradnje zubnih implanata u estetskoj regiji gornje vilice, tokom jednogodiÅ”njeg perioda praÄenja. Metode. Dvadeset zdravih bolesnika podeljeno je u dve grupe: C (beta TCP/kolagen tip 1 bez barijerne membrane i mukoperiostalnog režnja) i C+M (beta TCP/kolagen tip 1 sa barijernom membranom i mukoperiostalnim režnjem). PraÄeni su uobiÄajeni kliniÄki parametri ishoda terapije: implantna stabilnost (analiza rezonantne frekvence), stanje mekih tkiva (indeks krvarenja, plak indeks, Å”irina pripojne mukoze, recesija gingive) i nivo periimplantnog koÅ”tanog tkiva na retroalveolarnom radiogramu. Rezultati. U C+M grupi, implantna stabilnost posle 12 nedelja bila je znaÄajno veÄa u odnosu na primarnu stabilnost. U C+M grupi, Å”irina keratinizovane gingive bila je znaÄajno manja posle 3, 6, 9 i 12 meseci u odnosu na C grupu. Recesija gingive bila je znaÄajno veÄa u C+M grupi u odnosu na C grupu posle 9 i 12 meseci. ZakljuÄak. RazmatrajuÄi stabilnost mekog i tvrdog periimplantnog tkiva, terapija zubnim implantima može biti uspeÅ”na prilikom ugradnje u estetskoj regiji gornje vilice
UÄinkovitost ozona u suzbijanju kukaca
Napad kukaca unutar skladiÅ”nih objekata glavni je problem u industriji ljudske i životinjske hrane. Infekcije kukcima u skladiÅ”nim sustavima mogu dovesti do ekonomskih gubitaka od 9 do 20 %. Prisutnost kukaca i njihovi ostatci u zrnu i drugoj uskladiÅ”tenoj hrani predstavljaju opasnost za zdravlje ljudi i stoke. Trenutno se Å”tetnike u skladiÅ”nim prostorima suzbija kombinacijom razliÄitih mjera, od ÄiÅ”Äenja i hlaÄenja do tretmana uskladiÅ”tenog materijala s kontaktnim insekticidima ili fumigacijom. Brojnost raspoloživih pesticida za tretiranje zrna i drugih uskladiÅ”tenih proizvoda smanjuje se, a njihova ekotoksikoloÅ”ka svojstva poveÄavaju zabrinutost potroÅ”aÄa i druÅ”tva zbog zaÅ”tite okoliÅ”a i sigurnosti, naglaÅ”avajuÄi potrebu za alternativnim mjerama suzbijanja Å”tetnika. Jedna je od potencijalnih mjera uporaba ozona. Iako mehanizam djelovanja ozona na kukce nije u potpunosti poznat, diÅ”ni sustav kukaca ciljano je podruÄje djelovanja. Glavni cilj ovoga istraživanja bio je utvrditi uÄinkovitost ozona u suzbijanju razliÄitih vrsta kukaca. Istraživanje je provedeno na Å”est razliÄitih vrsta kukaca koji su bili u razliÄitim stadijima razvoja (odrasli: Blatta lateralis, Blaptica dubia, Gryllus campestris; liÄinke: Pachnoda sinuata flaviventris, Tenebrio molitor i Zophobas morio). Rezultatima je utvrÄeno Å”tetno djelovanje ozona na kukce. NajveÄa uÄinkovitost ozoniranja utvrÄena je kod kukaca kod kojih su ozonirane odrasle jedinke, a vrlo mala ili nikakva uÄinkovitost utvrÄena je na tretiranim liÄinkama. UÄinkovitost ozona poveÄava se s poveÄanjem trajanja ozoniranja. Rezultati ovog istraživanja sugeriraju da ozoniranje ima potencijal da postane realan izbor u suzbijanju Å”tetnih organizama u skladiÅ”nim sustavima sirovina za ljudsku i životinjsku prehranu ili gotovih proizvoda, samostalno ili kao nadopuna drugim metodama
Firefly Occurrences in Croatia ā One Step Closer from Citizen Science to Open Data*
Fireļ¬ies (Coleoptera: Lampyridae), with more than 2 000 species in 100 genera worldwide, are a charismatic nocturnal species. Although popular in different cultures because of their association with warm summer evenings in childhood, fireflies are an under-researched insect. Like numerous other insects worldwide, fireflies have experienced declines in their distribution and abundance. Anthropogenic impacts and climate change are likely to influence their development, reproduction, and survival. A project called āKreÅ”o Krijesnicaā (eng. āKreÅ”o the Fireflyā), used a Citizen Science model of data collection, to determine where are the fireflies located and how abundant are they throughout Croatia. Citizen Science involves the participation of the general or non-scientific public in data collection so determining the basic demographic profile of the citizen scientists involved was also one of the project goals. During the first phase of the project (2019-2021), data on fireflies were provided by citizen scientists through a formal survey on social media (Facebook, Instagram). Phase two aims to open the firefliesā datasets to the public through various open data portals. In the three years of the project, more than 16 000 records of fireflies were collected and analysed from over 1800 sightings. Descriptive statistics showed that the highest firefly population density was found in central Croatia, which is consistent with the greater number of people living in this area and thus a greater chance of firefly detection. Higher number pf female reporters were noted during the project. The dataset collected in this Citizen Science project presents a valuable source of information to the scientific community, especially in the field of entomology, conservation biology and ecology
COLORED BAITS IN PEST CONTROL ā EXAMPLES OF GOOD PRACTICE
U zaÅ”tiÄenim prostorima povrÄe i ukrasno bilje napadaju Å”tetnici koji sisanjem na liÅ”Äu, plodovima, stabljici i cvijetu izazivaju fizioloÅ”ke promjene na biljkama dovodeÄi do smanjenja prinosa i slabije kakvoÄe plodova. Prilikom njihova suzbijanja dolazi do problema kao Å”to su: brz razvoj rezistentnosti na insekticide, opasnost da zbog Äeste uporabe doÄe do prekomjernog nagomilavanja nedopuÅ”tenih rezidua u plodovima te sužen izbor insekticida. Sve spomenuto, uz pojaÄane zahtjeve tržiÅ”ta za proizvodima uzgojenima sukladno naÄelima integrirane zaÅ”tite bilja, problematizira primjenu kemijskih mjera suzbijanja, stoga je nužno rjeÅ”enja tražiti u nekemijskim mjerama. Obojeni mamci u obliku ljepljivih ploÄa alat su za praÄenje pojave Å”tetnika radi prognoziranja napada, utvrÄivanja potrebe i optimalnog roka suzbijanja, a postavljanjem veÄeg broja ploÄa i za reduciranje populacije Å”tetnika te sprjeÄavanje Å”teta.Vegetables and ornamental plants that are grown in greenhouses host several pests which cause physiological changes by feeding on leaves, fruits, stem and flowers, reducing yield and quality of vegetables. In this case, pest control can rise to problems such as quick development of insecticide resistance, risk of exaggareted accummulation of residual substances due to frequent insecticide use and narrow choice of insecticides. All abovementioned together with increased market demand for the products manufactured according to the principles of integrated pest management questions application of chemical pesticides and seeks for nonāchemical pest management solutions.
