    Affine Toda system of A\mathbf{A} and Ct\mathbf{C}^t type: compactness and affine Weyl group

    The local mass is a fundamental quantized information that characterizes the blow-up solution to the Toda system and has a profound relationship with its underlying algebraic structure. In \cite{Lin-Yang-Zhong-2020}, it was observed that the associated Weyl group can be employed to represent this information for the An\mathbf{A}_n, Bn\mathbf{B}_n, Cn\mathbf{C}_n and G2\mathbf{G}_2 type Toda systems. The relationship between the local mass of blow-up solution and the corresponding affine Weyl group is further explored for some affine B\mathbf{B} type Toda systems in \cite{Cui-Wei-Yang-Zhang-2022}, where the possible local masses are explicitly expressed in terms of 88 types. The current work presents a comprehensive study of the general affine A\mathbf{A} and Ct\mathbf{C}^t type Toda systems with arbitrary rank. At each stage of the blow-up process (via scaling), we can employ certain elements (known as "set chains") in the corresponding affine Weyl group to measure the variation of local mass. Consequently, we obtain the a priori estimate of the affine A\mathbf{A} and Ct\mathbf{C}^t type Toda systems with arbitrary number of singularities.Comment: 40 page

    Although many studies of cognitive switching have been conducted, little is known about whether and how cognitive switching affects individuals’ use of arithmetic strategies. We used estimation and numerical comparison tasks within the operand recognition paradigm and the choice/no-choice paradigm to explore the effects of cognitive switching on the process of arithmetic strategy selection. Results showed that individuals’ performance in the baseline task was superior to that in the switching task. Presentation mode and cognitive switching clearly influenced eye-gaze patterns during strategy selection, with longer fixation duration in the number presentation mode than in the clock presentation mode. Furthermore, the number of fixation was greater in the switching task than it was in the the baseline task. These results indicate that the effects of cognitive switching on arithmetic strategy selection are clearly constrained by the manner in which numbers are presented. Aunque se han realizado muchos estudios sobre el cambio cognitivo, se sabe poco acerca de si el cambio cognitivo afecta el uso de las estrategias aritméticas por parte de las personas y cómo lo hace. Utilizamos las tareas de estimación y comparación numérica dentro del paradigma de reconocimiento de operandos y el paradigma de elección / no elección para explorar los efectos del cambio cognitivo en el proceso de selección de estrategia aritmética. Los resultados mostraron que el rendimiento de los individuos en la tarea de referencia fue superior al de la tarea de cambio. El modo de presentación y la conmutación cognitiva influyeron claramente en los patrones de la mirada durante la selección de estrategia, con duraciones de fijación más largas en el modo de presentación numérica que en el modo de presentación de reloj. Además, el número de fijaciones fue mayor en la tarea de conmutación que en la tarea de línea de base. Estos resultados indican que los efectos del cambio cognitivo en la selección de la estrategia aritmética están claramente limitados por la forma en que se presentan los números

    Feasibility Study of Tractor-Test Vehicle Technique for Practical Structural Condition Assessment of Beam-Like Bridge Deck

    The tractor-test vehicle technique of non-destructive testing for indirect measurement of the modal properties of a bridge deck is revisited in this paper with several improvements for possible practical application to the structural condition assessment of a beam-like bridge deck. The effect of damping of the vehicle-bridge system is considered and the modal properties from only the first vibration mode of the structure will be used for a quick and simple assessment. The two test vehicles are designed to have the same modal frequency and damping ratio but with parameters in the follower No.2 test vehicle proportional to those in the follower No.1 test vehicle. This effectively removes the effect of road surface roughness in the response of an equivalent vehicle such that the error in the subsequent condition assessment is reduced. Through data collected on-sitetransmitted to theremote computer platform, a simple technique based on the moment-curvature relationship acceptable to practical engineers is adopted for the condition assessment with improvements in the estimation of the element bending stiffness of the deck. Scenarios with different damping, vehicle speed, road surface roughness, and local damages in the bridge structure are studied with or without temperature effect in the measurement. Through numerical simulations and field tests, the tractor-test vehicle technique of non-destructive testing with the proposed modifications and improvements has been demonstrated to give consistently accurate estimates of the element bending stiffness of the bridge deck but with a small error close to the end of the deck

    UBXN3B Positively Regulates STING-Mediated Antiviral Immune Responses

    The ubiquitin regulatory X domain-containing proteins (UBXNs) are likely involved in diverse biological processes. Their physiological functions, however, remain largely unknown. Here we present physiological evidence that UBXN3B positively regulates stimulator-of-interferon genes (STING) signaling. We employ a tamoxifen-inducible Cre-LoxP approach to generate systemic Ubxn3b knockout in adult mice as the Ubxn3b-null mutation is embryonically lethal. Ubxn3b(-/-), like Sting(-/-) mice, are highly susceptible to lethal herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV-1) and vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV) infection, which is correlated with deficient immune responses when compared to Ubxn3b(+/+) littermates. HSV-1 and STING agonist-induced immune responses are also reduced in several mouse and human Ubxn3b(-/-) primary cells. Mechanistic studies demonstrate that UBXN3B interacts with both STING and its E3 ligase TRIM56, and facilitates STING ubiquitination, dimerization, trafficking, and consequent recruitment and phosphorylation of TBK1. These results provide physiological evidence that links the UBXN family with antiviral immune responses

    Vibration characteristics of the impeller at multi-conditions in mixed-flow pump under the action of fluid-structure interaction

    In this study, the flow field and impeller structure response in the mixed-flow pump are cooperative solved based on the bidirectional synchronization solving method, to study the vibration characteristics of the mixed-flow pump impeller rotor under the fluid-structure interaction. The pressure distributions of blade surface in the mixed-flow pump under different flow rate conditions were compared, and the deformation, equivalent stress distribution and natural vibration frequency of impeller blade under static force load were studied. Meanwhile, the deformation of impeller blade and coupling stress distribution was analyzed based on bidirectional fluid-structure interaction. The results show that the deformation of impeller blade increases from hub to rim, and the maximum deformation occurs at the rim of the blade. The stress distribution of impeller blade in the circumferential direction is symmetrical, and the maximum equivalent stress occurs at the blade outlet edge near the hub. The maximum deformation position and the stress concentration location are basically consistent before and after coupling calculation, but the maximum deformation value increases and the maximum equivalent stress value decreases under the fluid-structure interaction. The influence of water pressure on the strength and frequency of vibration is very limited. With the increase of flow rate, the maximum equivalent stress of impeller decreases and the total deformation increases gradually. The results of this research provide reference basis for the structure design and reliability analysis of the mixed-flow pump

    LightXML: Transformer with Dynamic Negative Sampling for High-Performance Extreme Multi-label Text Classification

    Extreme Multi-label text Classification (XMC) is a task of finding the most relevant labels from a large label set. Nowadays deep learning-based methods have shown significant success in XMC. However, the existing methods (e.g., AttentionXML and X-Transformer etc) still suffer from 1) combining several models to train and predict for one dataset, and 2) sampling negative labels statically during the process of training label ranking model, which reduces both the efficiency and accuracy of the model. To address the above problems, we proposed LightXML, which adopts end-to-end training and dynamic negative labels sampling. In LightXML, we use generative cooperative networks to recall and rank labels, in which label recalling part generates negative and positive labels, and label ranking part distinguishes positive labels from these labels. Through these networks, negative labels are sampled dynamically during label ranking part training by feeding with the same text representation. Extensive experiments show that LightXML outperforms state-of-the-art methods in five extreme multi-label datasets with much smaller model size and lower computational complexity. In particular, on the Amazon dataset with 670K labels, LightXML can reduce the model size up to 72% compared to AttentionXML
