Orbital structure of the GJ876 extrasolar planetary system, based on the latest Keck and HARPS radial velocity data
We use full available array of radial velocity data, including recently
published HARPS and Keck observatory sets, to characterize the orbital
configuration of the planetary system orbiting GJ876. First, we propose and
describe in detail a fast method to fit perturbed orbital configuration, based
on the integration of the sensitivity equations inferred by the equations of
the original -body problem. Further, we find that it is unsatisfactory to
treat the available radial velocity data for GJ876 in the traditional white
noise model, because the actual noise appears autocorrelated (and demonstrates
non-white frequency spectrum). The time scale of this correlation is about a
few days, and the contribution of the correlated noise is about 2 m/s (i.e.,
similar to the level of internal errors in the Keck data). We propose a
variation of the maximum-likelihood algorithm to estimate the orbital
configuration of the system, taking into account the red noise effects. We
show, in particular, that the non-zero orbital eccentricity of the innermost
planet \emph{d}, obtained in previous studies, is likely a result of
misinterpreted red noise in the data. In addition to offsets in some orbital
parameters, the red noise also makes the fit uncertainties systematically
underestimated (while they are treated in the traditional white noise model).
Also, we show that the orbital eccentricity of the outermost planet is actually
ill-determined, although bounded by . Finally, we investigate
possible orbital non-coplanarity of the system, and limit the mutual
inclination between the planets \emph{b} and \emph{c} orbits by
, depending on the angular position of the mutual orbital

Weak localisation in bilayer graphene
We have performed the first experimental investigation of quantum
interference corrections to the conductivity of a bilayer graphene structure. A
negative magnetoresistance - a signature of weak localisation - is observed at
different carrier densities, including the electro-neutrality region. It is
very different, however, from the weak localisation in conventional
two-dimensional systems. We show that it is controlled not only by the
dephasing time, but also by different elastic processes that break the
effective time-reversal symmetry and provide invervalley scattering.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures (to be published in PRL
Physical Origin, Evolution and Observational Signature of Diffused Antiworld
The existence of macroscopic regions with antibaryon excess in the baryon
asymmetric Universe with general baryon excess is the possible consequence of
practically all models of baryosynthesis. Diffusion of matter and antimatter to
the border of antimatter domains defines the minimal scale of the antimatter
domains surviving to the present time. A model of diffused antiworld is
considered, in which the density within the surviving antimatter domains is too
low to form gravitationally bound objects. The possibility to test this model
by measurements of cosmic gamma ray fluxes is discussed. The expected gamma ray
flux is found to be acceptable for modern cosmic gamma ray detectors and for
those planned for the near future.Comment: 9 page
How model sets can be determined by their two-point and three-point correlations
We show that real model sets with real internal spaces are determined, up to
translation and changes of density zero by their two- and three-point
correlations. We also show that there exist pairs of real (even one
dimensional) aperiodic model sets with internal spaces that are products of
real spaces and finite cyclic groups whose two- and three-point correlations
are identical but which are not related by either translation or inversion of
their windows. All these examples are pure point diffractive.
Placed in the context of ergodic uniformly discrete point processes, the
result is that real point processes of model sets based on real internal
windows are determined by their second and third moments.Comment: 19 page
A Behavior-Based Approach To Securing Email Systems
The Malicious Email Tracking (MET) system, reported in a prior publication, is a behavior-based security system for email services. The Email Mining Toolkit (EMT) presented in this paper is an offline email archive data mining analysis system that is designed to assist computing models of malicious email behavior for deployment in an online MET system. EMT includes a variety of behavior models for email attachments, user accounts and groups of accounts. Each model computed is used to detect anomalous and errant email behaviors. We report on the set of features implemented in the current version of EMT, and describe tests of the system and our plans for extensions to the set of models
Pareto's Law of Income Distribution: Evidence for Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States
We analyze three sets of income data: the US Panel Study of Income Dynamics
PSID), the British Household Panel Survey (BHPS), and the German Socio-Economic
Panel (GSOEP). It is shown that the empirical income distribution is consistent
with a two-parameter lognormal function for the low-middle income group
(97%-99% of the population), and with a Pareto or power law function for the
high income group (1%-3% of the population). This mixture of two qualitatively
different analytical distributions seems stable over the years covered by our
data sets, although their parameters significantly change in time. It is also
found that the probability density of income growth rates almost has the form

Pure point diffraction and cut and project schemes for measures: The smooth case
We present cut and project formalism based on measures and continuous weight
functions of sufficiently fast decay. The emerging measures are strongly almost
periodic. The corresponding dynamical systems are compact groups and
homomorphic images of the underlying torus. In particular, they are strictly
ergodic with pure point spectrum and continuous eigenfunctions. Their
diffraction can be calculated explicitly. Our results cover and extend
corresponding earlier results on dense Dirac combs and continuous weight
functions with compact support. They also mark a clear difference in terms of
factor maps between the case of continuous and non-continuous weight functions.Comment: 30 page
The Importance of Time Congruity in the Organisation.
In 1991 Kaufman, Lane, and Lindquist proposed that time congruity in terms of an individual's time preferences and the time use methods of an organisation would lead to satisfactory performance and enhancement of quality of work and general life. The research reported here presents a study which uses commensurate person and job measures of time personality in an organisational setting to assess the effects of time congruity on one aspect of work life, job-related affective well-being. Results show that time personality and time congruity were found to have direct effects on well-being and the influence of time congruity was found to be mediated through time personality, thus contributing to the personâjob (PâJ) fit literature which suggests that direct effects are often more important than indirect effects. The study also provides some practical examples of ways to address some of the previously cited methodological issues in PâJ fit research
Unfolding Rates for the Diffusion-Collision Model
In the diffusion-collision model, the unfolding rates are given by the
likelihood of secondary structural cluster dissociation. In this work, we
introduce an unfolding rate calculation for proteins whose secondary structural
elements are -helices, modeled from thermal escape over a barrier which
arises from the free energy in buried hydrophobic residues. Our results are in
