The report describes and analyzes different aspects on applications design and user-centered services. The document is divided in three big chapters. In the first one it is analyzed what usability is and it’s described the relationship of this term with other similar ones, like experience of the user and information architecture. The second chapter studies the human factor and it explains how the users use an application or service, their visual perception, cognition, mental models and social nature. The third chapter is about the User Centered Design (UDC) and are described the main research techniques, evaluation and documentation. En el primero se analiza qué es usabilidad y se describe la relación de este término con otros similares, como experiencia de usuario o arquitectura de la información. La plataforma digital Repositorio Institucional de Asturias (RIA)

Se expone la experiencia de la creación de la plataforma digital RIA (Repositorio Institucional de Asturias). Esta plataforma se enmarca en el movimiento por el acceso abierto, y constituye la primera iniciativa desarrollada en Asturias en este ámbito. Se describe el proyecto desde sus comienzos hasta su puesta en marcha, haciendo especial referencia a la metodología aplicada, los objetivos, los organismos participantes, los componentes del sistema y las políticas adoptadas en materia de acceso abierto por parte del Gobierno del Principado de Asturias.This paper describes the experience of creating the Institutional Repository of Asturias (RIA) digital platform. This platform forms part of the open access movement, and constitutes the first initiative carried out in Asturias in this field. The project is described from its formative stages to the beginning of its operation. In particular, this paper highlights the method, the goals, the participating organisations, the components of the system and the open access policies adopted by the Government of the Principality of Asturias

Antitubercular drugs for an old target: GSK693 as a promising InhA direct inhibitor

AbstractDespite being one of the first antitubercular agents identified, isoniazid (INH) is still the most prescribed drug for prophylaxis and tuberculosis (TB) treatment and, together with rifampicin, the pillars of current chemotherapy. A high percentage of isoniazid resistance is linked to mutations in the pro-drug activating enzyme KatG, so the discovery of direct inhibitors (DI) of the enoyl-ACP reductase (InhA) has been pursued by many groups leading to the identification of different enzyme inhibitors, active against Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb), but with poor physicochemical properties to be considered as preclinical candidates. Here, we present a series of InhA DI active against multidrug (MDR) and extensively (XDR) drug-resistant clinical isolates as well as in TB murine models when orally dosed that can be a promising foundation for a future treatment

BvgcSalud : Biblioteca Virtual del Sistema Sanitario Público Asturiano

Since the General Directorate of Public Health and Planning under the Ministry of Health and Health Services of Asturias, is leading the project start-up and management of the Virtual Library gcSalud, with the collaboration of the Research Office Biosanitaria - FICYT. This communication presents the current status of the project and its future prospects. With the Virtual Library gcSalud, is intended to give access to all electronic resources of scientific information, that meet minimum quality, relevance and timeliness, and to assist the professional Asturian Public Health System to meet their information needs. Moreover, the Virtual Library will become the head of the Health Asturian Library system, and is projected as indispensable tool in the daily work of professional, providing its task researcher, scientific and care. From a single interface, the user's disposal, the information resources needed to carry out their daily work. The Virtual Library is accessible from the portal asturSalud of Asturias

National Health System Virtual Library Viability Project (Spain)

The ICT progress and development are making easier the set up of virtual libraries, with the consequent great advantages for users, in terms of immediate access to huge amounts of library information online resources and services. Most of the Autonomous Spanish Regions are presently working in the establishment of virtual libraries with the aim of optimizing economic resources destined to subscribe bibliographic information sources, and offering qualified documentary services to Public Health System Professionals. The Social Politics, Health Ministry, as a health matter unifying institution, issued this Project to study the National Health System Virtual Library creation viability, in order to guarantee relevant scientific information access equity
