Pseudo-Goldstone Boson Effects in Top-Antitop Productions at High Energy Hadron Colliders and Testing Technicolor Models
We study the top quark pair production process p+p(anti-p)-->top+antitop in
various kinds of technicolor (TC) models at the Fermilab Tevatron Run II and
the CERN LHC. The s-channel neutral pseudo-Goldstone bosons (PGB's) contribute
dominately to the production amplitudes from its coupling to the gluons through
the triangle loops of techniquarks and the top quark. Cross sections in
different TC models with s-channel PGB contributions are calculated. It is
shown that the PGB effects can be experimentally tested and different TC models
under consideration can be distinguished at the LHC. Therefore, the
p+p-->top+antitop process at the LHC provides feasible tests of the TC models.Comment: 10 pages in RevTex and 4 PS-files for the figures. Paramemter range

Applicative Bidirectional Programming with Lenses
A bidirectional transformation is a pair of mappings between source and view data objects, one in each direction. When the view is modified, the source is updated accordingly with respect to some laws. One way to reduce the development and maintenance effort of bidirectional transformations is to have specialized languages in which the resulting programs are bidirectional by construction---giving rise to the paradigm of bidirectional programming.
In this paper, we develop a framework for applicative-style and higher-order bidirectional programming, in which we can write bidirectional transformations as unidirectional programs in standard functional languages, opening up access to the bundle of language features previously only available to conventional unidirectional languages. Our framework essentially bridges two very different approaches of bidirectional programming, namely the lens framework and Voigtlander’s semantic bidirectionalization, creating a new programming style that is able to bag benefits from both
Pairing and alpha-like quartet condensation in N=Z nuclei
We discuss the treatment of isovector pairing by an alpha-like quartet
condensate which conserves exactly the particle number, the spin and the
isospin. The results show that the quartet condensate describes accurately the
isovector pairing correlations in the ground state of systems with an equal

Scalars from Top-condensation Models at Hadron Colliders
We study the production and decay of neutral scalars and pseudo-scalars at
hadron colliders, in theories where the top-quark mass is the result of a
condensate. We show that the dominant decay channel for masses below
the threshold is the flavor changing mode . This is a consequence
of the non-universal nature of the underlying interactions in all
top-condensation models and provides a model-independent signature of these
scenarios. We show that an upgraded Tevatron is sensitive to a sizeable region
of the interesting parameter space and that the LHC will highly constrain these

Cognitive Assessment Tools Recommended in Geriatric Oncology Guidelines: A Rapid Review.
Cognitive assessment is a cornerstone of geriatric care. Cognitive impairment has the potential to significantly impact multiple phases of a person's cancer care experience. Accurately identifying this vulnerability is a challenge for many cancer care clinicians, thus the use of validated cognitive assessment tools are recommended. As international cancer guidelines for older adults recommend Geriatric Assessment (GA) which includes an evaluation of cognition, clinicians need to be familiar with the overall interpretation of the commonly used cognitive assessment tools. This rapid review investigated the cognitive assessment tools that were most frequently recommended by Geriatric Oncology guidelines: Blessed Orientation-Memory-Concentration test (BOMC), Clock Drawing Test (CDT), Mini-Cog, Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), and Short Portable Mental Status Questionnaire (SPMSQ). A detailed appraisal of the strengths and limitations of each tool was conducted, with a focus on practical aspects of implementing cognitive assessment tools into real-world clinical settings. Finally, recommendations on choosing an assessment tool and the additional considerations beyond screening are discussed
Production of the neutral toppion at the e gamma colliders
In the framework of topcolor-assisted technicolor(TC2) model, we study a
neutral toppion production process in this
paper. Our results show that the production cross section of can reach the level of several tens fb, and over
neutral toppion events can be produced in the planned linear colliders
each year. Therefore, such a toppion production process provides us a unique
chance to detect toppion events and test the TC2 model. On the other hand, the
cross section of is about one order of
magnitude larger than those of some similar processes in SM and MSSM(i.e.,
in SM and in
MSSM). So, we can easily distinguish the neutral toppion from other neutral

Distinguishing among Technicolor/Warped Scenarios in Dileptons
Models of dynamical electroweak symmetry breaking usually include new spin-1
resonances, whose couplings and masses have to satisfy electroweak precision
tests. We propose to use dilepton searches to probe the underlying structure
responsible for satisfying these. Using the invariant mass spectrum and charge
asymmetry, we can determine the number, parity, and isospin of these
resonances. We pick three models of strong/warped symmetry breaking, and show
that each model produces specific features that reflect this underlying
structure of electroweak symmetry breaking and cancellations.Comment: Added missing referenc

Search for extraterrestrial antineutrino sources with the KamLAND detector
We present the results of a search for extraterrestrial electron
antineutrinos ('s) in the energy range using the KamLAND detector. In an exposure of
4.53 kton-year, we identify 25 candidate events. All of the candidate events
can be attributed to background, most importantly neutral current atmospheric
neutrino interactions, setting an upper limit on the probability of B
solar 's converting into 's at
(90% C.L.), if we assume an undistorted shape. This limit
corresponds to a solar flux of or an event
rate of above the energy threshold
. The present data also allows us to set more
stringent limits on the diffuse supernova neutrino flux and on the annihilation

7Be Solar Neutrino Measurement with KamLAND
We report a measurement of the neutrino-electron elastic scattering rate of
862 keV 7Be solar neutrinos based on a 165.4 kton-day exposure of KamLAND. The
observed rate is 582 +/- 90 (kton-day)^-1, which corresponds to a 862 keV 7Be
solar neutrino flux of (3.26 +/- 0.50) x 10^9 cm^-2s^-1, assuming a pure
electron flavor flux. Comparing this flux with the standard solar model
prediction and further assuming three flavor mixing, a nu_e survival
probability of 0.66 +/- 0.14 is determined from the KamLAND data. Utilizing a
global three flavor oscillation analysis, we obtain a total 7Be solar neutrino
flux of (5.82 +/- 0.98) x 10^9 cm^-2s^-1, which is consistent with the standard
