Cosmological Implications of the Tetron Model of Elementary Particles
Based on a possible solution to the tetron spin problem, a modification of
the standard Big Bang scenario is suggested, where the advent of a spacetime
manifold is connected to the appearance of tetronic bound states. The metric
tensor is constructed from tetron constituents and the reason for cosmic
inflation is elucidated. Furthermore, there are natural dark matter candidates
in the tetron model. The ratio of ordinary to dark matter in the universe is
calculated to be 1:5.Comment: 23 page
MOD-0A 200 kW wind turbine generator design and analysis report
The design, analysis, and initial performance of the MOD-OA 200 kW wind turbine generator at Clayton, NM is documented. The MOD-OA was designed and built to obtain operation and performance data and experience in utility environments. The project requirements, approach, system description, design requirements, design, analysis, system tests, installation, safety considerations, failure modes and effects analysis, data acquisition, and initial performance for the wind turbine are discussed. The design and analysis of the rotor, drive train, nacelle equipment, yaw drive mechanism and brake, tower, foundation, electricl system, and control systems are presented. The rotor includes the blades, hub, and pitch change mechanism. The drive train includes the low speed shaft, speed increaser, high speed shaft, and rotor brake. The electrical system includes the generator, switchgear, transformer, and utility connection. The control systems are the blade pitch, yaw, and generator control, and the safety system. Manual, automatic, and remote control are discussed. Systems analyses on dynamic loads and fatigue are presented

Evolution of ground state and upper critical field in R(1-x)GdxNi2B2C (R = Lu, Y): Coexistence of superconductivity and spin-glass state
We report effects of local magnetic moment, Gd3+, doping (x =< 0.3) on
superconducting and magnetic properties of the closely related Lu(1-x)GdxNi2B2C
and Y(1-x)GdxNi2B2C series. The superconducting transition temperature
decreases and the heat capacity jump associated with it drops rapidly with
Gd-doping; qualitative changes with doping are also observed in the
temperature-dependent upper critical field behavior, and a region of
coexistence of superconductivity and spin-glass state is delineated on the x -
T phase diagram. The evolution of superconducting properties can be understood
within Abrikosov-Gor'kov theory of magnetic impurities in superconductors
taking into account the paramagnetic effect on upper critical field with
additional contributions particular for the family under study
Effect of polarized gluon distribution on spin asymmetries for neutral and charged pion production
A longitudinal double spin asymmetry for \pi^0 production has been measured
by the PHENIX collaboration. The asymmetry is sensitive to the polarized gluon
distribution and is indicated to be positive by theoretical predictions. We
study a correlation between behavior of the asymmetry and polarized gluon
distribution in neutral and charged pion production at RHIC.Comment: 7 pages, 5 eps figures, section added, typos corrected. to be

MOD-OA 200 kW wind turbine generator engineeringing
Engineering drawings and the detailed mechanical and electrical design of a horizontal-axis wind turbine designed for DOE at the NASA Lewis Research Center and installed in Clayton, New Mexico are discussed. The drawings show the hub, pitch change mechanism, drive train, nacelle equipment, yaw drive system, tower, foundation, electrical power systems, and the control and safety systems
One-loop N-point equivalence among negative-dimensional, Mellin-Barnes and Feynman parametrization approaches to Feynman integrals
We show that at one-loop order, negative-dimensional, Mellin-Barnes' (MB) and
Feynman parametrization (FP) approaches to Feynman loop integrals calculations
are equivalent. Starting with a generating functional, for two and then for
-point scalar integrals we show how to reobtain MB results, using
negative-dimensional and FP techniques. The point result is valid for
different masses, arbitrary exponents of propagators and dimension.Comment: 11 pages, LaTeX. To be published in J.Phys.
Cluster algebras in algebraic Lie theory
We survey some recent constructions of cluster algebra structures on
coordinate rings of unipotent subgroups and unipotent cells of Kac-Moody
groups. We also review a quantized version of these results.Comment: Invited survey; to appear in Transformation Group
