    Este estudio se propone mostrar la importancia capital de la imagen acústica (sonograma), representación óptica del espectro sonoro, en la fundación y evolución del lenguaje musical espectral. Para hacer esto, trataremos en primer lugar de proporcionar una definición sintética de la música espectral, desde un punto de vista histórico y teórico. A continuación, el análisis estará centrado en la categorización de las diferentes aplicaciones de la imagen acústica a la escritura orquestal espectral. Este enfoque nos conducirá a discutir la incidencia de la idea de imagen acústica en el marco teórico de la revolución espectral, en relación especialmente con la crisis de la música serial. Finalmente, evocaremos brevemente las repercusiones de la noción de imagen sonora en el marco de las tendencias recientes de la música espectral.The aim of this study is to bring to the fore the function of sound images (sonogram) in relationship to the evolution of the spectral musical language. After presenting a short definition of spectral music from an historical and theoretical point of view, some categories deduced from the application of the sonogram to the spectral composition for orchestra will be sketched out. This approach will lead to discussion about the incidence of the use of sound images in the framework of the spectral revolution, particularly in relationship to the crisis of the twelve-note musical system. In conclusion, the repercussions of this notion in the frame of the recent tendencies of spectral music will be mentioned

    Spin structure of heavy-quark hybrids

    A unique feature of quantum chromodynamics (QCD), the theory of strong interactions, is the possibility for gluonic degrees of freedom to participate in the construction of physical hadrons, which are color singlets, in an analogous manner to valence quarks. Hadrons with no valence quarks are called glueballs, while hadrons where both gluons and valence quarks combine to form a color singlet are called hybrids. The unambiguous identification of such states among the experimental hadron spectrum has been thus far not possible. Glueballs are particularly difficult to establish experimentally since the lowest lying ones are expected to strongly mix with conventional mesons. On the other hand, hybrids should be easier to single out because the set of quantum numbers available to their lowest excitations may be exotic, i.e., not realized in conventional quark-antiquark systems. Particularly promising for discovery appear to be heavy hybrids, which are made of gluons and a heavy-quark-antiquark pair (charm or bottom). In the heavy-quark sector systematic tools can be used that are not available in the light-quark sector. In this paper we use a nonrelativistic effective field theory to uncover for the first time the full spin structure of heavy-quark hybrids up to 1/m21/m^2-terms in the heavy-quark-mass expansion. We show that such terms display novel characteristics at variance with our consolidated experience on the fine and hyperfine splittings in atomic, molecular and nuclear physics. We determine the nonperturbative contributions to the matching coefficients of the effective field theory by fitting our results to lattice-QCD determinations of the charmonium hybrid spectrum and extrapolate the results to the bottomonium hybrid sector where lattice-QCD determinations are still challenging.Comment: 10 pages, 3 figures.     Emotional management and biological markers of dietetic regimen in chronic kidney disease patients

    The aim of the study was to investigate the association between psychological characteristics and biological markers of adherence in chronic kidney disease patients receiving conservative therapy, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis (PD), or kidney transplantation. Seventy-nine adult patients were asked to complete the following questionnaires: Toronto Alexithymia scale, Snaith–Hamilton Pleasure Scale, and Short Form Health Survey. Biological markers of adherence to treatment were measured. Peritoneal dialysis patients showed a lower capacity to feel pleasure from sensorial experience (p = .011) and a higher values of phosphorus compared to the other patients’ groups (p = .0001). The inability to communicate emotions was negatively correlated with hemoglobin levels (r = −(0).69; p = .001) and positively correlated with phosphorus values in the PD patients (r = .45; p = .050).     Multidimensional Evaluation for Text Style Transfer Using ChatGPT

    We investigate the potential of ChatGPT as a multidimensional evaluator for the task of \emph{Text Style Transfer}, alongside, and in comparison to, existing automatic metrics as well as human judgements. We focus on a zero-shot setting, i.e. prompting ChatGPT with specific task instructions, and test its performance on three commonly-used dimensions of text style transfer evaluation: style strength, content preservation, and fluency. We perform a comprehensive correlation analysis for two transfer directions (and overall) at different levels. Compared to existing automatic metrics, ChatGPT achieves competitive correlations with human judgments. These preliminary results are expected to provide a first glimpse into the role of large language models in the multidimensional evaluation of stylized text generation

    Figures of speech help people express abstract concepts and evoke stronger emotions than literal expressions, thereby making texts more creative and engaging. Due to its pervasive and fundamental character, figurative language understanding has been addressed in Natural Language Processing, but it's highly understudied in a multilingual setting and when considering more than one figure of speech at the same time. To bridge this gap, we introduce multilingual multi-figurative language modelling, and provide a benchmark for sentence-level figurative language detection, covering three common figures of speech and seven languages. Specifically, we develop a framework for figurative language detection based on template-based prompt learning. In so doing, we unify multiple detection tasks that are interrelated across multiple figures of speech and languages, without requiring task- or language-specific modules. Experimental results show that our framework outperforms several strong baselines and may serve as a blueprint for the joint modelling of other interrelated tasks.Comment: Accepted to ACL 2023 (Findings

    Eosinophilic pulmonary granulomatosis resembling a pulmonary carcinoma in a dog in Hong Kong

    Background: Canine Eosinophilic Pulmonary Granulomatosis (EPG) is a severe form of eosinophilic pulmonary disease that carries a guarded prognosis, responds poorly to therapy and recurs frequently. Most studies have reported a caudal lobar pulmonary distribution and a poorer prognosis in idiopathic cases. Case Description: A 7-year-old dog was presented for persistent cough, hyporexia, and weight loss. Eosinophilia and basophilia were transiently present, and an antigen test for heartworm disease was negative. Radiographic studies, followed by a computed tomography (CT) scan revealed nodular lesions and a large mass in the left cranial lobar region suggestive of neoplasia. Cytological and histopathological evaluation was consistent with EPG. The dog responded positively to corticosteroids and has since remained free of disease. Conclusion: EPG in dogs can resemble primary pulmonary neoplasia with secondary intra-pulmonary metastasis. Contrary to previous reports, idiopathic EPG can present with a cranial pulmonary distribution and respond positively to therapy
