PIERCING THE CORPORATE VEIL IN BRAZILIAN, CANADIAN, AND SPANISH CIVIL LAW
This research focuses on the Brazilian regulation of veil piercing, making a functional comparison with the regulation of the subject in the Canadian (QuƩbec) and Spanish civil law systems. After briefly introducing the Brazilian problem, we present the reasons for the intended comparison and the procedure adopted. The following axes of the procedure for veil piercing were compared: (i) degree of legislative regulation, (ii) exceptionality of its application, (iii) the need for specific intent, (iv) the subsidiarity of the patrimonial liability of the partners, (v) the criterion and degree of liability of the partners subject to the piercing of the corporate veil, and (vi) the repercussions on group relations. Partial considerations were performed sequentially to the exposure of the base scenario of each regulatory axis, aiming to facilitate the analysis of the results by other researchers
First Massive State of the Superstring in Superspace
Using the manifestly spacetime supersymmetric description of the
four-dimensional open superstring, we construct the vertex operator in
superspace for the first massive state. This construction provides an N=1 D=4
superspace representation of the massive spin-2 multiplet.Comment: 7 pages late
Integral equations of scattering in one dimension
A self-contained discussion of integral equations of scattering is presented
in the case of centrally-symmetric potentials in one dimension, which will
facilitate the understanding of more complex scattering integral equations in
two and three dimensions. The present discussion illustrates in a simple
fashion the concept of partial-wave decomposition, Green's function,
Lippmann-Schwinger integral equations of scattering for wave function and
transition operator, optical theorem and unitarity relation. We illustrate the
present approach with a Dirac delta potential.Comment: 12 pages, accepted in American Journal of Physic
