Cohesion, team mental models, and collective efficacy: Towards an integrated framework of team dynamics in sport
A nomological network on team dynamics in sports consisting of a multi-framework perspective is introduced and tested. The aim was to explore the interrelationship among cohesion, team mental models (TMM), collective-efficacy (CE), and perceived performance potential (PPP). Three hundred and forty college-aged soccer players representing 17 different teams (8 female and 9 male) participated in the study. They responded to surveys on team cohesion, TMM, CE and PPP. Results are congruent with the theoretical conceptualization of a parsimonious view of team dynamics in sports. Specifically, cohesion was found to be an exogenous variable predicting both TMM and CE beliefs. TMM and CE were correlated and predicted PPP, which in turn accounted for 59% of the variance of objective performance scores as measured by teams’ season record. From a theoretical standpoint, findings resulted in a parsimonious view of team dynamics, which may represent an initial step towards clarifying the epistemological roots and nomological network of various team-level properties. From an applied standpoint, results suggest that team expertise starts with the establishment of team cohesion. Following the establishment of cohesiveness, teammates are able to advance team-related schemas and a collective sense of confidence. Limitations and key directions for future research are outlined
Design of a 3 GHz Accelerator Structure for the CLIC Test Facility (CTF 3) Drive Beam
For the CLIC two-beam scheme, a high-current, long-pulse drive beam is
required for RF power generation. Taking advantage of the 3 GHz klystrons
available at the LEP injector once LEP stops, a 180 MeV electron accelerator is
being constructed for a nominal beam current of 3.5 A and 1.5 microsecond pulse
length. The high current requires highly effective suppression of dipolar
wakes. Two concepts are investigated for the accelerating structure design: the
"Tapered Damped Structure" developed for the CLIC main beam, and the "Slotted
Iris - Constant Aperture" structure. Both use 4 SiC loads per cell for
effective higher-order mode damping. A full-size prototype of the TDS structure
has been built and tested successfully at full power. A first prototype of the

Raman spectroscopy, a non-destructive solution to the study of glass and its alteration
This paper presents the potential of Raman spectroscopy, a non-destructive technique which can be applied in-situ, for the analyses of glass and their alteration. Recent analytical developments are summarised for different glass composition and practical examples are given. The paper describes how to extract compositional information from the glass, first based on the spectra profile to distinguish rapidly alkali silicate from alkaline-earth alkali silicate and lead alkali silicate glass, then using the spectral decomposition and correlations to extract quantitative data. For alkali silicate glasses, that are most prone to alteration, the spectral characteristics are described to interpret the alteration process (selective leaching or dissolution of the glass) from the Raman spectra of the altered glass. These developments have greatly widened the potential of the technique and supplement well its ability to measure the thickness of the altered layer and identify the crystalline deposits
Development and validation of an inventory to assess conflict in sport teams: the Group Conflict Questionnaire
Dynamics of light propagation in spatiotemporal dielectric structures
Propagation, transmission and reflection properties of linearly polarized
plane waves and arbitrarily short electromagnetic pulses in one-dimensional
dispersionless dielectric media possessing an arbitrary space-time dependence
of the refractive index are studied by using a two-component, highly symmetric
version of Maxwell's equations. The use of any slow varying amplitude
approximation is avoided. Transfer matrices of sharp nonstationary interfaces
are calculated explicitly, together with the amplitudes of all secondary waves
produced in the scattering. Time-varying multilayer structures and
spatiotemporal lenses in various configurations are investigated analytically
and numerically in a unified approach. Several new effects are reported, such
as pulse compression, broadening and spectral manipulation of pulses by a
spatiotemporal lens, and the closure of the forbidden frequency gaps with the
subsequent opening of wavenumber bandgaps in a generalized Bragg reflector
Propagation of gamma rays and production of free electrons in air
A new concept of remote detection of concealed radioactive materials has been
recently proposed \cite{Gr.Nusin.2010}-\cite{NusinSprangle}. It is based on the
breakdown in air at the focal point of a high-power beam of electromagnetic
waves produced by a THz gyrotron. To initiate the avalanche breakdown, seed
free electrons should be present in this focal region during the
electromagnetic pulse. This paper is devoted to the analysis of production of
free electrons by gamma rays leaking from radioactive materials. Within a
hundred meters from the radiation source, the fluctuating free electrons appear
with the rate that may exceed significantly the natural background ionization
rate. During the gyrotron pulse of about 10 microsecond length, such electrons
may seed the electric breakdown and create sufficiently dense plasma at the
focal region to be detected as an unambiguous effect of the concealed

Team Players and Collective Performance: How Agreeableness Affects Team Performance Over Time
Previous research on teams has found that agreeableness is one of the strongest personality predictors of team performance, yet one of the weakest personality predictors of individual-level job performance. In this study, we examined why teams with more agreeable members perform better. Data were collected across 4 months at 5 points in time from 107 project teams. We found that agreeableness affects performance through communication and cohesion and that communication precedes cohesion in time. Furthermore, we found that virtualness moderated the relationships between agreeableness and communication, as well as between agreeableness and team performance, such that teams only benefitted from high levels of agreeableness when interacting face-to-face.Yeshttps://us.sagepub.com/en-us/nam/manuscript-submission-guideline
Disorder induced phase segregation in La2/3Ca1/3MnO3 manganites
Neutron powder diffraction experiments on La2/3Ca1/3MnO3 over a broad
temperature range above and below the metal-insulator transition have been
analyzed beyond the Rietveld average approach by use of Reverse Monte Carlo
modelling. This approach allows the calculation of atomic pair distribution
functions and spin correlation functions constrained to describe the observed
Bragg and diffuse nuclear and magnetic scattering. The results evidence phase
separation within a paramagnetic matrix into ferro and antiferromagnetic
domains correlated to anistropic lattice distortions in the vicinity of the

Modelling Immunological Systems using PEPA: a preliminary report
We present preliminary work on modelling aspects of the immune system using process algebra. The problem addressed is how T-helper cell populations respond to co-infections with parasites making conflicting immunological demands. Our goal is to build PEPA models of alternative hypotheses around T-helper cell behaviour and to evaluate those with respect to experimental data
Culture change in elite sport performance teams: Examining and advancing effectiveness in the new era
Reflecting the importance of optimizing culture for elite teams, Fletcher and Arnold (2011) recently suggested the need for expertise in culture change. Acknowledging the dearth of literature on the specific process, however, the potential effectiveness of practitioners in this area is unknown. The present paper examines the activity's precise demands and the validity of understanding in sport psychology and organizational research to support its delivery. Recognizing that sport psychologists are being increasingly utilized by elite team management, initial evidence-based guidelines are presented. Finally, to stimulate the development of ecologically valid, practically meaningful knowledge, the paper identifies a number of future research directions
