Caracterização e diversidade genética entre progênies do guaraná: o objetivo do estudo foi estimar a diversidade genética, estimar componentes de variância para caracteres morfoagronômicos, e da produção de progênies de guaranazeiro
Simultaneous detection of Brazilian isolates of grapevine viruses by TaqMan real-time RT-PCR.
The aim of this work was to evaluate the efficiency of real-time RT-PCR for detection of different isolates of ten important virus species that infect grapevines in Brazil: Grapevine leafroll-associated virus (GLRaV-1, -2, -3 and -5), Grapevine virus A (GVA), Grapevine virus B (GVB), Grapevine virus D (GVD), Grapevine rupestris stem pitting-associated virus (GRSPaV), Grapevine fleck virus (GFkV) and Grapevine fanleaf virus (GFLV). The reactions consisted of individual (simplex) and simultaneous (duplex) virus detections. Thirty six grapevine accessions, regenerated after thermotherapy and tissue culture treatments, have been analysed. All the above-mentioned viruses were sensitively detected in simplex reactions in samples infected with different virus isolates. Specifically to GLRaV-1 it was necessary to mix reagents refered by different sources to achieve the amplification. GVA, GRSPaV, GLRaV-2 and GLRaV-3 combined with GVB, GFLV, GFkV, GVD and GLRaV-5 were accurately detected in duplex trials. It was shown, that real-time RT-PCR (TaqMan) is able to efficiently detect different local virus species and isolates.Comunicação científica

NEOWISE-R Observation of the Coolest Known Brown Dwarf
The Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) spacecraft has been
reactivated as NEOWISE-R to characterize and search for Near Earth Objects. The
brown dwarf WISE J085510.83-071442.5 has now been reobserved by NEOWISE-R, and
we confirm the results of Luhman (2014b), who found a very low effective
temperature ( K), a very high proper motion (8.1 +/- 0.1
arcsec/yr) , and a large parallax (454 +/- 45 mas). The large proper motion has
separated the brown dwarf from the background sources that influenced the 2010
WISE data, allowing a measurement of a very red WISE color of W1-W2
mag. A re-analysis of the 2010 WISE astrometry using only the W2 band, combined
with the new NEOWISE-R 2014 position, gives an improved parallax of 448 +/- 33
mas and proper motion of 8.08 +/- 0.05\; arcsec/yr. These are all consistent
with Luhman (2014b).Comment: 6 pages, AJ accepte

Development of FEM/BEM and SEA models from experimental results for structural elements with attached equipment
This work focuses on the analysis of a structural element of MetOP-A satellite. Given the special interest in the influence of equipment installed on structural elements, the paper studies one of the lateral faces on which the Advanced SCATterometer (ASCAT) is installed. The work is oriented towards the modal characterization of the specimen, describing the experimental set-up and the application of results to the development of a Finite Element Method (FEM) model to study the vibro-acoustic response. For the high frequency range, characterized by a high modal density, a Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA) model is considered, and the FEM model is used when modal density is low. The methodology for developing the SEA model and a compound FEM and Boundary Element Method (BEM) model to provide continuity in the medium frequency range is presented, as well as the necessary updating, characterization and coupling between models required to achieve numerical models that match experimental results
The poetics of indigenous radio in Colombia
In 2002, 14 indigenous radio stations began operating in Colombia reaching 78.6 percent of the national indigenous population. Colombian indigenous radio stations are shaped by intense deliberations among each indigenous people about the poetics of information and communication technologies, understood as the exploration of the specific sets of social, cultural and political relations in which each radio station would exist if brought into each indigenous territory. Colombian indigenous peoples' appropriation of information and communication technologies is framed by new legislative frameworks made possible by the Colombian constitutional reform of 1991, by indigenous peoples' critique of Colombian mainstream media and, more significantly, by discussions among indigenous peoples about the adoption of radio — what we call a poetics of radio.Yeshttps://us.sagepub.com/en-us/nam/manuscript-submission-guideline
The composition of circumstellar gas and dust in 51 Oph
We analyze ISO archive data of the nearby bright emission-line star 51 Oph,
previously classified as a proto-planetary system similar to beta Pic. The
infrared spectrum reveals the presence of gas-phase emission bands of hot
(approx 850 K) CO, CO_2, H_2O and NO. In addition to this, partially
crystalline silicate dust is present. The solid-state bands and the energy
distribution are indicative of dust that has formed recently, rather than of
debris dust. The presence of hot molecular gas and the composition of the
circumstellar dust are highly unusual for a young star and are reminiscent of
what is found around evolved (AGB) stars, although we exclude the possibility
of 51 Oph belonging to this group. We suggest several explanations for the
nature of 51 Oph, including a recent episode of mass loss from a Be star, and
the recent destruction of a planet-sized body around a young star.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figures, accepted by A&A (letters
