The comparison of possibilities at using of different electrolytes in the process of anodizing aluminum
The contribution researches and solves the suitability of utilize of electrolyte, consisting of the oxalic acid, boric acid, sodium chloride and aluminium cations in the process of anodizing aluminium in operating conditions of electrolyte T = 22 °C, t = time of oxidation and the size of at least 210 an applied voltage U = 12 V. The appropriate use of the electrolyte is judged by the thickness of the anodic aluminium oxide layer (AAO) formed on the basis of the monitoring and the resulting quality of the sample surface
Persistence of viral RNA in the brain of experimentally infected mice with coxsackievirus B5
Aim. The aim of our study was to follow the persistence of viral RNA in selected organs of experimentally
infected with coxsackievirus (CV) B5 strains from different sources such as a patient’s sample, an environmental sample and a prototype virus strain. Methods. CD-1 mice were infected with CVB5 strain
Faulkner the prototype, CVB5 – isolate from treated sewage waste and isolate from patient’s stool sample
both identified as CVB5. The viral RNA was detected by RT-PCR using enterovirus primers specific for the
non-coding 5' region. Results. We observed presence of RNA in the brain and heart of mice infected with
isolate from patient’s stool at day 45 post infection (p. i.). Conclusion. We conclude that CVB5 persists in
the brain and heart after oral infection of CD1 mice. The relevance of viral persistence maybe related viral
origin and the genetics.

The contribution to coating quality evaluation by statistical methods
The paper deals with evaluation of quality of electrolytic coating by statistical methods. Electrolytic solution was created by ZnCl2 within interval of 0,062 mol•l-1to 1,01 mol•l-1, NaCl ranging from 7,01 mol•l-1 to 60,66 mol•l-1, H3BO3 ranging from 0,11 mol.l-1 to 0,89 mol.l-1. Physical conditions of the experiment are represented by the electrolyte temperature ranging from - 3,78 °C to 43,78 °C, electroplating period ranging from 3,11 to 26,98 min and voltage ranging from 1,62 V to 6,38 V. Steel S355J0 was used as an experimental material. The results showed that zinc chloride volume contained in the electrolyte does not produce any influence on resulting quality of zinc coating

The European Sero-Epidemiology Network 2: standardization of assay results for hepatitis B virus
The aim of the European Sero-Epidemiology Network 2 was to coordinate
and standardize the serological surveillance of vaccine-preventable
diseases in Europe. in this study, the standardization of hepatitis B
virus (HBV) results is described. The 15 participating national
laboratories tested a unique panel of 172 sera established by the Greek
reference centre for HBV surface antigen (HBsAg), antibodies to HBsAg
(anti-HBs) and/or to the HBV core antigen (anti-HBc) by assay methods of
their choice. Country-specific quantitative measurements for anti-HBs
and anti-HBc were transformed into common units using standardization
equations derived by regressing each country’s panel results against the
reference centre’s results, thus adjusting for interassay and
interlaboratory variability. For HBsAg, a qualitative analysis
(positive/negative) showed at least 99% agreement with the reference
laboratory for all countries. By combining these standardized and
qualitative results for the markers mentioned earlier, it was possible
to achieve comparable estimates of the proportion of the population
susceptible to HBV, vaccinated against HBV, with a past HBV infection,
and with a current infection or chronic carrier state. Standardization
is a very important tool that allows for international serological
comparisons to assess the current vaccination policies and the progress
of HBV control in Europe
