Bond distortion effects and electric orders in spiral multiferroic magnets
We study in this paper bond distortion effect on electric polarization in
spiral multiferroic magnets based on cluster and chain models. The bond
distortion break inversion symmetry and modify the - hybridization.
Consequently, it will affect electric polarization which can be divided into
spin-current part and lattice-mediated part. The spin-current polarization can
be written in terms of and
the lattice-mediated polarization exists only when the M-O-M bond is distorted.
The electric polarization for three-atom M-O-M and four-atom M-O-M
clusters is calculated. We also study possible electric ordering in three kinds
of chains made of different clusters. We apply our theory to multiferroics
cuprates and find that the results are in agreement with experimental

Sustainable Growth and Ethics: a Study of Business Ethics in Vietnam Between Business Students and Working Adults
Sustainable growth is not only the ultimate goal of business corporations but also the primary target of local governments as well as regional and global economies. One of the cornerstones of sustainable growth is ethics. An ethical organizational culture provides support to achieve sustainable growth. Ethical leaders and employees have great potential for positive influence on decisions and behaviors that lead to sustainability. Ethical behavior, therefore, is expected of everyone in the modern workplace. As a result, companies devote many resources and training programs to make sure their employees live according to the high ethical standards. This study provides an analysis of Vietnamese business students’ level of ethical maturity based on gender, education, work experience, and ethics training. The results of data from 260 business students compared with 704 working adults in Vietnam demonstrate that students have a significantly higher level of ethical maturity. Furthermore, gender and work experience are significant factors in ethical maturity. While more educated respondents and those who had completed an ethics course did have a higher level of ethical maturity, the results were not statistically significant. Analysis of the results along with suggestions and implications are provided
Nonsequential Double Ionization with Polarization-gated Pulses
We investigate laser-induced nonsequential double ionization by a
polarization-gated laser pulse, constructed employing two counter-rotating
circularly polarized few cycle pulses with a time delay . We address the
problem within a classical framework, and mimic the behavior of the
quantum-mechanical electronic wave packet by means of an ensemble of classical
electron trajectories. These trajectories are initially weighted with the
quasi-static tunneling rate, and with suitably chosen distributions for the
momentum components parallel and perpendicular to the laser-field polarization,
in the temporal region for which it is nearly linearly polarized. We show that,
if the time delay is of the order of the pulse length, the
electron-momentum distributions, as functions of the parallel momentum
components, are highly asymmetric and dependent on the carrier-envelope (CE)
phase. As this delay is decreased, this asymmetry gradually vanishes. We
explain this behavior in terms of the available phase space, the quasi-static
tunneling rate and the recollision rate for the first electron, for different
sets of trajectories. Our results show that polarization-gating technique may
provide an efficient way to study the NSDI dynamics in the single-cycle limit,
without employing few-cycle pulses.Comment: 17 pages, 6 figure
Space shuttle: Static aerodynamic characteristics and control effectiveness of the GAC H-33 orbiter at Mach numbers from 0.6 to 4.96
A .003366 scale model of the Grumman H-33 orbiter was tested in the MSFC 14 inch Trisonic Wind Tunnel. Six-component aerodynamic force and moment data was recorded over a Mach number range of 0.6 to 4.96. Both pitch runs and yaw runs at various constant angles of attack were completed. The basic model configuration was investigated. The effects of a component build-up and of various control deflections were obtained. The elevons were deflected symmetrically and asymmetrically to determine elevator and aileron effectiveness. The rudder was tested both flared and unflared and the effects of deflections were determined in the flared case. The model was tested in pitch in two intervals. The first interval was from 0 to 20 deg. Then an adaptor was set to give the sting an offset angle and 20 to 40 deg angle of attack was obtained. Characteristics in sideslip were determined by varying sideslip angle from -4 deg to 10 deg with angle of attack set at 0 deg, 10 deg, 15 deg, and 30 deg
Approach to accurately measuring the speed of optical precursors
Precursors can serve as a bound on the speed of information with dispersive
medium. We propose a method to identify the speed of optical precursors using
polarization-based interference in a solid-state device, which can bound the
accuracy of the precursors' speed to less than with conventional
experimental conditions. Our proposal may have important implications for
