    Exploring the Influence of Consumer Behavior, Psychology, and Personality on Purchase Intention: A Study on the Impact of Color, Font Type, and Material in Coffee Packaging.

    Norway boasts a substantial coffee market and ranks as the second-highest consumer of coffee globally. Within a highly competitive market, it becomes crucial for businesses to differentiate themselves from competitors. While previous studies have primarily focused on examining the impact of various coffee packaging components on overall purchase intention, this research seeks to delve deeper and identify the specific factors that contribute to heightened purchase intentions for particular packaging components. By shedding light on these factors, this study aims to provide valuable insights for businesses aiming to gain a competitive advantage in the industry.Our research comprised two distinct studies. Study 1 encompassed an exploratory investigation with the objective of examining the alignment between personalities and color preferences, as well as determining the magnitude of willingness to pay (WTP)and its key influencers. Study 2, our main study, focused on analyzing the factors that influence purchase intentions for various packaging components, specifically material, font type, and color. Within this study, we explored the interplay of consumer behavior, psychology, and personality as critical determinants of purchase intentions.To examine the present study, we employed a comprehensive approach involving an online survey to gather relevant data. This data was subjected to rigorous analysis, including factor analysis and regression models, to facilitate a thorough exploration of the research variables. The outcomes of our analysis revealed compelling evidence supporting the significant influence of underlying factors such as consumer behavior, psychology, and personality on the purchase intentions pertaining to diverse coffee packaging components. These findings underscore the importance of considering these factors when making decisions regarding the packaging of coffee products, as they can significantly impact consumer preferences and behaviors

    Progress on single barrier varactors for submillimeter wave power generation

    Theoretical work on Single Barrier Varactor (SBV) diodes, indicate that the efficiency for a multiplier has a maximum for a considerably smaller capacitance variation than previously thought. The theoretical calculations are performed, both with a simple theoretical model and a complete computer simulation using the method of harmonic balance. Modeling of the SBV is carried out in two steps. First, the semiconductor transport equations are solved simultaneously using a finite difference scheme in one dimension. Secondly, the calculated I-V, and C-V characteristics are input to a multiplier simulator which calculates the optimum impedances, and output powers at the frequencies of interest. Multiple barrier varactors can also be modeled in this way. Several examples on how to design the semiconductor layers to obtain certain characteristics are given. The calculated conversion efficiencies of the modeled structures, in a multiplier circuit, are also presented. Computer simulations for a case study of a 750 GHz multiplier show that InAs diodes perform favorably compared to GaAs diodes. InAs and InGaAs SBV diodes have been fabricated and their current vs. voltage characteristics are presented. In the InAs diode, was the large bandgap semiconductor AlSb used as barrier. The InGaAs diode was grown lattice matched to an InP substrate with InAlAs as a barrier material. The current density is greatly reduced for these two material combinations, compared to that of GaAs/AlGaAs SBV diodes. GaAs based diodes can be biased to higher voltages than InAs diodes

    Shuttle Ku-band and S-band communications implementations study

    The interfaces between the Ku-band system and the TDRSS, between the S-band system and the TDRSS, GSTDN and SGLS networks, and between the S-band payload communication equipment and the other Orbiter avionic equipment were investigated. The principal activities reported are: (1) performance analysis of the payload narrowband bent-pipe through the Ku-band communication system; (2) performance evaluation of the TDRSS user constraints placed on the S-band and Ku-band communication systems; (3) assessment of the shuttle-unique S-band TDRSS ground station false lock susceptibility; (4) development of procedure to make S-band antenna measurements during orbital flight; (5) development of procedure to make RFI measurements during orbital flight to assess the performance degradation to the TDRSS S-band communication link; and (6) analysis of the payload interface integration problem areas

    International audiencePsoriasis is a chronic inflammatory disease involving about 2?3% of the Norwegian population. Sun exposure has a positive effect on most psoriasis lesions, but ultraviolet (UV) radiation also causes a direct DNA damage in the skin cells and comprises a carcinogenic potential. UV exposure on the skin causes a local as well as a systemic immune suppressive effect, but the relation between sun exposure and these biological effects is not well known. In March 2006 a study was carried out to investigate possible therapeutic outcome mechanisms in 20 psoriasis patients receiving climate therapy at Gran Canaria. This paper presents estimates of their individual skin UV-doses based on UV measurements and the patients' diaries with information on time spent in the sun. On the first day of exposure the patients received on average 5.1 Standard Erythema Doses (SED: median=4.0 SED, range 2.6?10.3 SED) estimated to the skin. During the 15 days study they received 165.8 SED (range 104.3?210.1 SED). The reduction in PASI score was 72.8% on average, but there was no obvious relation between the improvement and the UV dose. The UV doses were higher than those found from climate therapy studies at other locations. It seems beneficial to use more strict exposure schedules that consider the available UV irradiance, depending on time of the day, time of the year and weather conditions

    Prospective study of colorectal cancer risk and physical activity, diabetes, blood glucose and BMI: exploring the hyperinsulinaemia hypothesis

    A sedentary lifestyle, obesity, and a Westernized diet have been implicated in the aetiology of both colorectal cancer and non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus, leading to the hypothesis that hyperinsulinaemia may promote colorectal cancer. We prospectively examined the association between colorectal cancer risk and factors related to insulin resistance and hyperinsulinaemia, including BMI, physical activity, diabetes mellitus, and blood glucose, in a cohort of 75 219 Norwegian men and women. Information on incident cases of colorectal cancer was made available from the Norwegian Cancer Registry. Reported P values are two-sided. During 12 years of follow up, 730 cases of colorectal cancer were registered. In men, but not in women, we found a negative association with leisure-time physical activity (P for trend = 0.002), with an age-adjusted RR for the highest versus the lowest category of activity of 0.54 (95% CI = 0.37–0.79). Women, but not men, with a history of diabetes were at increased risk of colorectal cancer (age-adjusted RR = 1.55; 95% CI = 1.04–2.31), as were women with non-fasting blood glucose ≥8.0 mmol l−1(age-adjusted RR = 1.98; 95% CI = 1.31–2.98) compared with glucose <8.0 mmol l−1. Overall, we found no association between BMI and risk of colorectal cancer. Additional adjustment including each of the main variables, marital status, and educational attainment did not materially change the results. We conclude that the inverse association between leisure-time physical activity and colorectal cancer in men, and the positive association between diabetes, blood glucose, and colorectal cancer in women, at least in part, support the hypothesis that insulin may act as a tumour promoter in colorectal carcinogenesis. © 2001 Cancer Research Campaign http://www.bjcancer.co

    Comparison of near-interface traps in Al2_2O3_3/4H-SiC and Al2_2O3_3/SiO2_2/4H-SiC structures

    Aluminum oxide (Al2O3) has been grown by atomic layer deposition on n-type 4H-SiC with and without a thin silicon dioxide (SiO2) intermediate layer. By means of Capacitance Voltage and Thermal Dielectric Relaxation Current measurements, the interface properties have been investigated. Whereas for the samples with an interfacial SiO2 layer the highest near-interface trap density is found at 0.3 eV below the conduction band edge, Ec, the samples with only the Al2O3 dielectric exhibit a nearly trap free region close to Ec. For the Al2O3/SiC interface, the highest trap density appears between 0.4 to 0.6 eV below Ec. The results indicate the possibility for SiC-based MOSFETs with Al2O3 as the gate dielectric layer in future high performance devices.Comment: 3 figures.
