Kajian Tentang Fungsi Sistem Informasi Perencanaan Pembangunan Daerah (Sippd) Dalam Proses Perencanaan Pembangunan Di Kabupaten Poso
This study aims at determiningthe differencesbefore and after use of Information System for Regional Development in the process of development planning in Poso district. This is a descriptive, qualitative and quantitative research with 43 (forty-three) people as the total number of population, and the total sample is 43 people selected by using census sampling technique. The data were collected through questionnaires and interview guidelines. The analysis of the data is descriptive quantitative and qualitative. The indicators used are the number of proposals that followed, the percentage of the consistency of the planned programs and activities and percentage of evaluated program and activities. The results show that there were significant differences after the use of SIPPD. This is shown by the results of difference test with t value of each indicator is the number of followed proposals 3.954, consistency percentage of planned programs and activities is 12 610, the percentage of evaluated programs and activities is 17 048 greaterthan the t table value 2.018. The study also suggests that it is needed to develop a system that suits the needs so that it can facilitate the preparation of impotant documents and development plans for each agency allocating a budget for increasing the capacity of SIPPD admin and providing cost consequences as motivation in the work
The West Bank Aquifer and Conventions Regarding Laws of Belligerent Occupation
This Note will provide an introductory analysis of the conventions on belligerent occupation as they apply to the West Bank aquifer. Part I provides a brief analysis of the current situation in the region. Part II provides an overview of the relevant conventions on belligerent occupation and then focuses on how these laws apply to underground water resources in the West Bank. Finally, Part III outlines potential developments for the maintenance of complicity with the developing law of belligerent occupation, taking into account developments in international water law
A Meta-Analysis of Genetically Modified Food Valuation Studies
A plethora of research in recent years has been devoted to estimating consumer demand for genetically modified food, an important piece of information needed to create appropriate public policy. To examine this body of work, a meta-analysis was conducted of 25 studies that, in aggregate, report 57 valuations for GM food. Findings indicate as much as 89% of the variation in existing value estimates for genetically modified food can be explained by an econometric model that controls for (a) the characteristics of the sample of consumers studied, (b) the method for eliciting consumers' valuation, and (c) characteristics of the food being valued. Each of these factors has a statistically significant effect on estimated premiums for non-GM food. Results of this study effectively summarize the extant literature on consumer demand for genetically modified food and permit the creation of some stylized facts that are not conditional on the results of one particular study. This paper also illustrates the effect of methodological choices on valuation estimates and reports a model which allows researchers and policy makers to quickly generate valuation measures for use in marketing or cost benefit analysis.biotechnology, consumer acceptance, genetically modified food, willingness to pay, Consumer/Household Economics,
Moonlighters: A Product of Deprivation or Aspiration?
This study explores the nature of relationships between moonlighting and several dependent variables, such as need fulfillment in work and non-work, mental health, participation in voluntary organizations, job performance, absenteeism, anticipated turnover and flex-time and short work week preferences
Electromagnetic Casimir Forces of Parabolic Cylinder and Knife-Edge Geometries
An exact calculation of electromagnetic scattering from a perfectly
conducting parabolic cylinder is employed to compute Casimir forces in several
configurations. These include interactions between a parabolic cylinder and a
plane, two parabolic cylinders, and a parabolic cylinder and an ordinary
cylinder. To elucidate the effect of boundaries, special attention is focused
on the "knife-edge" limit in which the parabolic cylinder becomes a half-plane.
Geometrical effects are illustrated by considering arbitrary rotations of a
parabolic cylinder around its focal axis, and arbitrary translations
perpendicular to this axis. A quite different geometrical arrangement is
explored for the case of an ordinary cylinder placed in the interior of a
parabolic cylinder. All of these results extend simply to nonzero temperatures.Comment: 17 pages, 10 figures, uses RevTeX
Magnetization reversal and spin dynamics exchange in biased F/AF bilayers probed with complex permeability spectra
The spin dynamics of the ferromagnetic pinned layer of
ferro-antiferromagnetic coupled NiFe/MnNi bilayers is investigated in a broad
frequency range (30 MHz-6 GHz). A phenomenological model based on the
Landau-Lifshitz equation for the complex permeability of the F/AF bilayer is
proposed. The experimental results are compared to theoretical predictions. We
show that the resonance frequencies, measured during the magnetization, are
likewise hysteretic.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figure
Constraints on stable equilibria with fluctuation-induced forces
We examine whether fluctuation-induced forces can lead to stable levitation.
First, we analyze a collection of classical objects at finite temperature that
contain fixed and mobile charges, and show that any arrangement in space is
unstable to small perturbations in position. This extends Earnshaw's theorem
for electrostatics by including thermal fluctuations of internal charges.
Quantum fluctuations of the electromagnetic field are responsible for
Casimir/van der Waals interactions. Neglecting permeabilities, we find that any
equilibrium position of items subject to such forces is also unstable if the
permittivities of all objects are higher or lower than that of the enveloping
medium; the former being the generic case for ordinary materials in vacuum.Comment: 4 pages, 1 figur
