An active attack on a distributed Group Key Exchange system
In this work, we introduce an active attack on a Group Key Exchange protocol
by Burmester and Desmedt. The attacker obtains a copy of the shared key, which
is created in a collaborative manner with the legal users in a communication
group
Public Key Protocols over Twisted Dihedral Group Rings
Key management is a central problem in information security. The development of quantum computation could make the protocols we currently use unsecure. Because of that, new structures and hard problems are being proposed. In this work, we give a proposal for a key exchange in the context of NIST recommendations. Our protocol has a twisted group ring as setting, jointly with the so-called decomposition problem, and we provide a security and complexity analysis of the protocol. A computationally equivalent cryptosystem is also proposed

Potential predictors of smoking relapse in treatment-seeking smokers
Impulsive behavior problems are powerful predictors of addiction treatment outcomes. However, a comprehensive assessment of these features has not been examined in relation to smoking cessation outcomes. This study aims to evaluate the capacity of impulsive behavior to predict the risk of relapse and the number of relapses for smokers. The sample comprised 141 participants (Mage= 47.3, SD= 8.31; 59% females) in psychopharmacology treatment for dependence to nicotine. Participants provided breath carbon monoxide samples for determining smoking throughout the study. The different impulsiveness dimensions were evaluated with a Go/NoGo task, the visual search and attention test and a delayed discount task, while self-informed impulsivity was assessed with Barratt’s Impulsiveness Scale. Unplanned impulsivity, attention failures and performance in the Go/NoGo task are postulated among the individual factors related to the number of relapses. Our results contribute to the understanding of relapse components and enable the inference of assiduity by quantifying relapse.
Determination of volumetric variations and coastal changes due to historical volcanic eruptions using historical maps and remote-sensing at Deception Island (West-Antarctica)
Deception Island is an active volcano in the South Shetland Islands (Antarctic). Its
eruptions have been recorded since 1842, the last episode occurring between 1967 and
1970. This study quantifies the geomorphological changes which have taken place as a
result of historical volcanic activity on the island. The linear and volumetric results
obtained for the Telefon Bay and Craters of 1970s where the Surtseyan eruption took
place in 1967 are presented in detail.Ministerio de Educación y Ciencia CGL2005-07589-C03- 01/ANTMinisterio de Educación y Ciencia CGL2004-21547-EMinisterio de Educación y Ciencia CGL2007-28768-E/ANTMinisterio de Educación y Ciencia CTM2009-0725
Impact of the economic crisis and the implementation of the EHEA on the bachelor’s degree in building in Spain
After five years since the introduction of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) in Spain, it is time to examine its
achievements. This study focuses on technical architectural studies and its transformation into a Bachelor’s degree in
Building. The analysis takes into account key issues such as the reduction in the number of new students due to the crisis in
the Spanish construction sector that started in 2008. This paper presents a study of the impact of the Bologna Process on the
abovementioned bachelor’s degree programme from the point of view of the first-year subject of Descriptive Geometry.
The methodology is based on time series analysis and correlation parameters of data collected between 2005 and 2014. The
results, on one hand, show high correlations (0.94–0.98) between the decrease in the number of students enrolled and some
construction sector economic variables, such as construction employment. However, according to surveys, the vocations
are still the main reason of career choice. On the other hand, they also show that the four-month period division of the
subject established in the new bachelor programme has improved students’ academic performance. This is clearly shown in
the range of students with marks over 7 out of 10. In conclusion, the Bologna Process has led to an improvement in the
academic performance of first-year students and the development of highly motivated and engaged learners in the new
Bachelor’s degree in Building programme. In contrast, it is shown that the implementation of theEHEAwill not reduce the
number of years spent by students in their studies nor decrease the rate of students who drop out
