    Stability of the embankment of fine sand reinforced with geosynthetic materials

    This research paper validates the significance of an assimilated attitude when choosing the design of the subgrade of railways constructed from fine sands in difficult engineering and geological conditions in the desert and steppe territories of Uzbekistan to ensure their sustainability with modern technologies and materials. The analysis of the results obtained in the calculations of the stability coefficient of the design structure of the embankment. The characteristics of the embankment soils correspond to the design data of the object "Removal of the existing railway section Dunguluk-Burgutli-Misken from the flood zone of the Shurbulak reservoir" The results of the calculations performed by the method of G. M. Shakhunyants, as well as the software "GEO 5" and "Plaxis 2D" show that the structure of the embankment with a height of more than 6 meters does not provide the required standard coefficient of stability. Complete warps of the embankment and graphs of changes in the stability coefficient of the design structure of the embankment, and with the laying of geotextiles as reinforcement of the pattern of the subgrade of railways, are given. Beneficial solutions to increase the stability coefficient of the embankment from fine sands are proposed, and the efficiency of using geosynthetic materials as a reinforcement of the pattern of the subgrade is substantiated. Theoretical calculations and analysis of prevailing embankment structures confirm the feasibility of reinforcing the structure of the subgrade erected from fine sands on the railway lines of Uzbekistan

    Bearing capacity of the subgrade for high-speed train traffic

    On the basis of theoretical research the problem of determining the bearing capacity of the main site of the earth bed poured from loess-like loam with regard to the action of vibrodynamic loads and reduction of strength properties of soils under its influence is solved. On the basis of solution of the theory of limit equilibrium it is possible to determine the deficit of bearing capacity, the value of which is the main indicator for a reasonable choice of design of reinforcement of the main site of the earth bed in order to increase its strength. On the basis of calculation of the earth bed strength, the variants of the earth bed construction are presented, providing the required strength of the earth bed made of loess-like loam with consistency index 0,21 < JL ≤ 0,3, at high-speed train traffic.     Research of the movement of solutions in waterless dry horizons

    The movement of solutions in waterless dry layers and the influence of irrigated rock on the radius the filtration flow and the nature of its saturation were established in the paper. The liquid flow curves were constructed for various distances from the source axis. The developed methodology of non-stationary filtration mode during underground leaching determined the filtration coefficients in laminar and turbulent modes. It is necessary to take into account the physical properties of both the rock mass and the filtered leaching solutions. Research has established that the shape of the spreading of solutions in the system of interaction between the injection and discharge wells (the edge boundaries of the streamline) must be considered as a rhombus, and the spreading angle is formed depending on the degree of clogging of the pore volume

    In the process of train traffic on the rolling surface of the rail head are formed bumps and fatigue defects, constant dynamic loads lead to the frustration the upper structure of the path. In this article the analyzes integral indicators of the rolling surface of the rails (long waves, medium waves, short waves) on the section of speed and high-speed train traffic for assess the condition of rails in transit. Problems with the formation of wave-like irregularities on the surface of the rails are identified, promising directions in solving this problem are indicated

    Are the anticardiolipin antibodies a risk factor for coronary artery disease in chronic renal failure patients?

    Objective. It has been proposed that anticardiolipin (aCL) antibodies are a risk factor for coronary artery disease (CAD) in recently studies. In this study, we aimed to investigate the existence of coronary artery disease in dialysis patients who were aCL positive and undergoing hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis due to end stage renal failure and also to determine its relationship with risk factors in patients with coronary artery disease. Methods. This study has been conducted in the end stage renal failure in 140 hemodialysis patients, 18 peritoneal dialysis patients, and 38 healthy controls. The urea, creatinine, total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, triglyceride, total protein, and albumin values are obtained. In all cases, aCL levels are investigated with ELISA method. Results. In the HD and CAPD patients, no significant relationship could be found between the age, gender, dialysis time, total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, total protein, and albumin values (p 0.05). HD and CAPD vs. controls (aCL), 9.2% (13/140), 11.1% (2/18) vs. 2.6% (1/38), p = 0.002. No significant difference was noted between aCL-positive and -negative patients in serum urea, creatinine, total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, triglyceride, total protein, and albumin levels. The coronary artery disease was determined in three patients out of 16 patients with aCL positivity. Conclusion. The prevalence of aCL antibodies positivity in our study was similar to the prevalence of aCL positivity in other studies. Therefore, we do not think aCL antibodies positivity is a risk factor for coronary artery disease

    Obez bireylerde kilo kaybının QTc dispersiyonu üzerine etkisi

    Amaç: Artmış QTc dispersiyonu ventriküler aritmiler için bir göstergedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı diyet ve medikal tedavi ile kilo kaybı programı sonrası QTc dispersiyonunun azalmasını araştırmaktır. Yöntemler: Bu çalışmaya 12 haftalık kilo kaybı programı sonrası mevcut kilolarının en az %10'nu veren 30 (24 kadın ve 6 erkek, ort. yaş: 44±8 yıl) obez birey dahil edildi. Obezite vücut kitle indeksi'nin (VKİ) ?30 kg/m2 olarak tarif edildi. Normal kilo ise VKİ'nin ? 25 kg/m2 olarak tarif edildi. Bulgular: On iki haftalık kilo kaybı programı sonrası, VKİ 42±5 kg/m2'den 36±4 kg/m2 (p<0.001) azaldı ve obez bireylerin ortalama ağırlığı 110±17 kg'dan 95±15 kg (p<0.001) azaldı. Kilo kaybının ortalama miktarı 14.5±5.0 kg (9-32 kg arasında) idi. Kilo kaybının ortalama yüzdesi ise 13% (10.0%-20.3%) idi. Maksimum QTc interval (446±19 ms'den 433±27 ms, p=0.024) ve QTc dispersiyonu (66±18 ms'den 52±25 ms, p=0.024) kilo kaybı programı sonrası önemli oranda azaldı. QTc dispersiyonun seviyesindeki azalma ile kilo kaybının miktarı arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı ilişki bulundu (r=0.487, p=0.007). Sonuç: Obez bireylerde önemli kilo kaybı QTc dispersiyon seviyesini önemli oranda azaltmıştır. QTc dispersiyon azalmasının derecesi kilo kaybının miktarı ile ilişkilidir.Objective: Increased QTc dispersion is a predictor for ventricular arrhythmias. The aim of this study was to investigate whether QTc dispersion decreases after weight loss program with diet and medical treatment. Methods: Total 30 (24 women and 6 men, mean age: 44&plusmn;8 years) obese subjects who lost at least 10% of their original weight after 12 week weight loss program were included in present study. Obesity was defined as &amp;#8805;30 kg/m2 of body mass index (BMI). Normal weight was defined as &amp;#8804; 25 kg/m2 of BMI. Results: After 12 week weight loss program, BMI decreased from 42&plusmn;5 kg/m2 to 36&plusmn;4 kg/m2 (p&lt;0.001) and mean weight of obese subjects decreased from 110&plusmn;17 kg to 95&plusmn;15 kg (p&lt;0.001). The mean amount of weight loss was 14.5&plusmn;5.0 kg (range 9-32 kg). The average percent of weight loss was 13% (10.0%-20.3%). Maximum QTc interval (from 446&plusmn;19 ms to 433&plusmn;27 ms, p=0.024) and QTc dispersion (from 66&plusmn;18 ms to 52&plusmn;25 ms, p=0.024) significantly decreased after weight loss program. A statistically significant correlation was found between decrease in level of QTc dispersion and amount of weight loss (r=0.487, p=0.007). Conclusion: Substantial weight loss in obese subjects is accompanied by significantly decreased QTc dispersion. The degree of QTc dispersion reduction is associated with amount of weight loss
