    This study is based on the importance of student’s understanding on word order but in fact the students’ ability in comprehending grammar is low. The problem of this research can be stated as follow: 1. How scrambled words are implemented to improve student’s understanding on word order of 7th grade students of SMPN 23 Mijen Semarang in the academic year of 2010/2011? 2. Can scrambled word improve the student’s understanding on word order of 7th grade students of SMPN 23 Mijen Semarang in the academic year of 2010/2011? Its purposes are: 1. To describe the implementation of scrambled word to improve student’s understanding on word order of 7th grade students of SMPN 23 Mijen Semarang in the academic year of 2010/2011. 2. To identify the improvement of student’s understanding on word order after being taught through using scrambled word of 7th grade students of SMPN 23 Mijen Semarang in the academic year of 2010/2011. This study is a classroom action research that was done in three cycles. Data collection was done using observation and test. To analyze the data on student’s understanding, descriptive quantitative analysis was used. Result of the study shows that by using scrambled word to teach word order at SMPN 23 Mijen Semarang, students’ understanding on word order can be improved. This successfulness can be seen from the result of students’ average score and good responses by students. The result after getting all of the treatment using scrambled word, the students’ average score increased. Students’ average score from the first cycle was 6.53, second cycle was 7. 78 and the third cycle was 8.33. The result of this study is expected to be information for teacher of English subject in teaching word order

    Improving the Learning Activities by Implementing the Scientific Approach Through Discovery Learning Model

    The objectives of the study were to describe the planning, implementation, observation and reflection, to evaluate and identify the constraints and solutions at each cycle and also to find out the learning outcomes achieved with scientific approach through the discovery learning model for 2nd grade students at SMP 2 Kudus. It was a descriptive qualitative study. The research result showed that the students' activity was enough on the first cycle and good on the second cycle. The average mean score of the written test on the first first cycles B- and A- on the second cycle. If it was seen from the minimum completeness criterion (KKM), there were 19 students with the percentage of acquisition was 55% on the 1st cycle and there were 32 students with the percentage of acquisition was 93% on the 2nd cycle. The observation results showed that scientific approach gave improvement of students' activities on the first cycle and the second cycle. The results obtained from the use of scientific approach through the discovery learning model to improve the activity was good, but it needs to be observed continuously on students' attitudes, skills and knowledge in school life.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan Perencanaan, Pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi serta mengevaluasi, mengidentifikasi kendala dan solusi dalam mengatasi kendala tiap siklusnya serta mengetahui hasil yang dicapai dalam pembelajaran pendekatan scientific melalui model Discovery Learning pada peserta didik kelas VII E di SMP 2 Kudus. Bentuk penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian bedasarkan pada siklus I tingkat aktivitas peserta didik menunjukan rata-rata capaian optimum cukup, pada siklus II tingkat aktivitas peserta didik menunjuka rata-rata capaian optimum Baik. Perolehan rata-rata skor rerata tes tertulis pada siklus I adalah B- dan pada siklus II rata-rata skor rerata adalah A-. Apabila dilihat dari Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) hasil peserta didik pada siklus 1 yang mencapai KKM sebanyak 19 peserta didik dengan presentase perolehan 55% dan pada siklus ke II peserta didik yang mencapai KKM sebanyak 32 peserta didik dengan perolehan presentase sebanyak 93 %. Hasil observasi pembelajaran pendekatan scientific pada siklus I dan Siklus II terhadap Aktivitas guru menunjukkan adanya peningkatan. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penggunaan pendekatan scientific melalui model Discovery Learning dalam upaya peningkatan aktivitas sudah baik, namun perlu dibarengi dengan pengamatan yang berkesinambungan terhadap sikap, keterampilan dan pengetahuan peserta didik dalam kehidupan di sekolah

    Analysis of leadership quality and communication ability towards teacher performance

    Many factors can make teacher performance more optimal, for example, the leadership quality and communication skills of the school principal. This article aims to: (1) describe the leadership quality of the principal of the Muhammadiyah Oil and Gas Vocational School in Cilacap; (2) describes the communication skills of the head of the Muhammadiyah Migas Vocational School Cilacap; (3) describe the performance of SMK Muhammadiyah Migas Cilacap vocational teachers; (4) determine the influence of the quality of school principal leadership on the performance of SMK Muhammadiyah Migas Cilacap teachers; (5) find out the influence of school principals' communication skills on the performance of Cilacap Vocational High School Muhammadiyah teachers; and (6) find out the influence of leadership quality and communication skills of principals on the performance of SMK Muhammadiyah Migas Cilacap teachers. This research is a quantitative study using descriptive analysis and multiple regression analysis. The population in this study were 33 teachers in Muhammadiyah Migas Vocational School Cilacap. Data collection techniques used a closed questionnaire method. Descriptive analysis results show that: (1) The quality of the principal's leadership can be classified in good categories, (2) The communication skills of the principal can be classified in either category; and (3) Teacher performance is included in the classification of good categories. Furthermore, the results of the regression analysis showed that: (1) there was a positive influence on the quality of the principal's leadership on the teachers’ performance; (2) there is a positive influence of communication skills on the performance of teachers; (3) and there is a positive influence on the quality of the principals' leadership and communication skills together on the performance of the teachers

Tujuan penelitian yang hendak dicapai adalah untuk memperkirakan pengaruh investasi asing terhadap pertumbuha n ekonomi dan sebaliknya. Manfaat yang dapat diperoleh adalah untuk meningkatkan keb eradaan teori pertumbuhan ekonomi dapat diterapkan di Indonesia, memperkuat hasil penelitian sebelumnya dan menjelaskan pengertian dari teori pertumbuhan ekonomi. Salah satu cara untuk menganalisis pengaruh jangka pendek dan jangka panjang adalah dengan menggunakan model dinamis. Dalam studi ini, model yang digunakan adalah model koreksi kesalahan Engle Granger (EG-ECM), yang didasarkan pada teorema representasi Granger. Research objectives to be achieved are to estimate the influence of foreign investment on economic growth, and vice versa.
