A Unified Logical Framework for Reasoning about Deontic Properties of Actions and States

This paper studies some normative relations that hold between actions, their preconditions and their effects, with particular attention to connecting what are often called ‘ought to be’ norms with ‘ought to do’ norms. We use a formal model based on a form of transition system called a ‘coloured labelled transition system’ (coloured LTS) introduced in a series of papers by Sergot and Craven. Those works have variously presented a formalism (an ‘action language’) nC+ for defining and computing with a (coloured) LTS, and another, separate formalism, a modal language interpreted on a (coloured) LTS used to express its properties. We consolidate these two strands. Instead of specifying the obligatory and prohibited states and transitions as part of the construction of a coloured LTS as in nC+, we represent norms in the modal language and use those to construct a coloured LTS from a given regular (uncoloured) one. We also show how connections between norms on states and norms on transitions previously treated as fixed constraints of a coloured LTS can instead be defined within the modal language used for representing norms

Simple, handy and effective purifying water station for people and for household purpose

Przedstawiono niektóre istotne problemy związane z uzdatnianiem wód powierzchniowych i podziemnych zanieczyszczonych np. w czasie powodzi. Przeprowadzono badania nad usuwaniem zanieczyszczeń mineralnych (jony żelaza i manganu) i organicznych przy zastosowaniu kolumn adsorpcyjnych oraz zaproponowano sposób eliminowania mikroorganizmów przy użyciu specjalistycznych filtrów. Na podstawie uzyskanych wyników badań wykonano model użytkowy oczyszczalnika, opracowano i zweryfikowano procedurę wykonania prototypu oraz jego powielania. Opracowano procedury obsługi serwisowej oczyszczalnika.In this paper certain important issues concerning purifying underground and ground water sources contaminated as a result of, for example, a flood are presented. Studies of techniques used to remove mineral (iron and manganese ions) and organic contaminants with the use of adsorption columns were conducted. Also a way of eliminating microorganisms with the use of specialist filters is proposed. Based on the study results a utility model of the purifier has been created as well as a procedure of its creation and duplication has been designed and verified. Support service procedures for the purifier have also been prepared

Cast iron shell type of shaft lining applied in the LGOM copper mines : causes of damages, repairment methods and prevention measures

Na terenie kopalń LGOM funkcjonuje obecnie 29 szybów. We wszystkich z nich na odcinku utworów trzeciorzędu oraz górnych warstw pstrego piaskowca funkcjonuje obudowa tubingowa. Obudowa ta pomimo wielu niepodważalnych zalet ulega obecnie stopniowej destrukcji wskutek przejmowania przez nią znaczących deformacji górotworu, będących konsekwencją wpływów od prowadzonej eksploatacji złoża. Występujące uszkodzenia dotyczą kolumn tubingowych szybów najstarszych (okres funkcjonowania ponad 35 lat) o średnicy 6,0 m, ze szczelinami pikotażowymi. Uszkodzeniom o charakterze kompresyjnym ulegają przede wszystkim segmenty tubingowe zabudowane na szczelinach pikotażowych. Podstawową metodą naprawy uszkodzonych segmentów tubingowych jest ich wzmocnienie poprzez wbudowywanie w przestrzenie międzyżebrowe indywidualnie dopasowywanych, żeliwnych wkładek wzmacniających o różnorodnej konstrukcji, zależnej od charakteru uszkodzenia. Obecnie, wobec coraz większej skali oddziaływania eksploatacji na obudowy szybów, istotnego znaczenia nabierają działania profilaktyczne mające na celu ograniczenie ich skutków na obudowie. Pierwszym kierunkiem podejmowanych działań jest dobór odpowiedniego systemu eksploatacji złoża w bezpośrednim sąsiedztwie granic filarów ochronnych, tak by ograniczyć do minimum wpływy z nią związane. Drugi kierunek działań to przygotowanie kolumny tubingowej na bezpieczne przejmowanie wpływów od prowadzonej eksploatacji. I tu realizuje się działania idące w kierunku wzmocnienia lub upodatnienia kolumny tubingowej w rejonach szczelin pikotażowych.At present on the area of LGOM mines operate 29 shafts. In all of them, on the section of Tertiary formations and upper layers of the bountersandstone tubbing lining is placed. This lining, in spite of many irrefutable advantages undergoes at present the gradual destruction resulting from taking over the significant deformations of the rock-mass being the consequence of mining operations impact. Damages refer to tubbing columns of the oldest shafts (period of operation over 35 years) having diameter of 6,0 m and picotage slots. Damages of the compression character firstly concern all tubbing segments built-up on picotage slots. A basic method of the repair of damaged tubbing segments is strengthening them by installing into inter-rib spaces, individually fitted cast-iron strengthening insertions of various construction, depending on the character of the damage. Nowadays, due to the more and more greater scale of mining impact on shafts lining, preventive actions aimed to limit the lining destruction, become of the critical importance. A first direction of activities undertaken is the selection of the suitable mining system in the close vicinity of protective pillars, to minimize their impact on the shaft. Second direction is preparation of the tubbing column to taking over the impact of mining operations safety. And there the activities targeted to strengthen or yield the tubbing column in the areas picotage slots are carried out
