Thermal imaging technique is a sufficiently precise tool by which you can evaluate the condition of the blood supply of various areas of the body. Blood supply is connected with physiological functional status or ongoing pathological processes such as inflammation. The study was conducted on 40 volunteers - randomly selected students. The results are characterized by a slight standard deviation in maximum and minimum temperatures in the maxillary sinus area and the minimal difference between these results. On the basis of studies, the range of values of the reference temperature of the maxillary sinus. This range was isolated based on the results of a group of 39 individuals. It has been shown that in case of one person the results were not within the range of reference values indicating the presence of chronic inflammatory sinusitis

Earth wires currents calculation in UGC-OHL lines

    No full text
The high voltage overhead (OHL) and underground cable line (UGC) is analyzed in the paper. The paper presents the influence of the cable sheath earthing on the values of currents in case of earth faults, with particular focus on the currents flowing in the earth wires. It is shown that the selection of the earth wires for the overhead line should take into account not only the parameters of the cable line section, but also the method of the cable sheath earthing. The single point earthing with no earth continuity conductor (ECC) is particularly not recommended, because it leads to the earth wire currents and earth potential rise

The book is a popular contribution devoted to the history of the former Oberlausitzer Gedenkhalle, at present Miejski Dom Kultury in Zgorzelec, and the institutions that were hosted in that unique architectural monument

Start-up of a power unit of a thermal power plant auxiliary system with supply from a hydropower plant

    No full text
This article discusses the issues related to a power unit of a thermal power plant start-up with the use of a hydropower plant. Hydropower plant can supply and will enable start-up of auxiliary equipment in a power unit of a thermal power plant. Due to high capacity of auxiliary drives, startup of auxiliaries in a thermal power plant after blackout (and boiler shutdown) is not possible from emergency energy sources in the power plant. In such a case an external electricity source with high capacity is required

Stakeholders mapping – A case of international logistics projects

    No full text
Implementation of projects often causes social conflicts, resulting in delays or even abandonment of the project. Those conflicts often arise or are revealed around projects related to the development and creation of logistics infrastructure. One of the reasons for this is the absence of an agreement between stakeholders, including local communities and community organizations. The key issue in managing every project is to identify stakeholders and potential conflicts. One of the methods is a stakeholder network map that recognises the persons and groups whose actions are crucial to the success of the project. In the paper we present the result of the survey identifying key public sector stakeholders and potential areas of risk in the Rail Baltica Growth Corridor project. On the basis of these recommendations the stakeholder management policy has been formulated

The Issues of Reactive Power Compensation in High-voltage Transmission Lines

    No full text
This paper discusses the selection of compensation shunt reactors for a double-circuit 400 kV transmission line using the example of the newly built Elk Bis – Alytus transmission line. The analysis takes into account various conditions of the power system. The published results relate to voltage levels in steady states and during switching processes and short circuits

Bibliometric analysis of articles in 'Gospodarka Materiałowa i Logistyka' in 2010-2012

    No full text
Bibliometric analysis of scientific articles provides valuable information on the structure of both science and the selected areas (eg. supply chain management). The authors reviewed the publication in Materials Management and Logistics for the years 2010-2012 using bibliometric analysis tools. The purpose of the review was to identify areas of research in the field of supply chain management and to determine the content and structure. Aim of the study was carried out by analyzing the bibliometric database for 2010-2012 published articles (the English-language abstracts). Bibliometric analysis confirmed the high performance potential of supply chain management as an area of scientific and research activities. Despite the narrow time frame of the analysis in the study area was observed high variability subjects of articles (as well as research projects, the underlying). Some research areas have remained unchanged, and the number of published articles confirmed the continued interest of researchers defined issues (eg. transport processes within the supply chain). In some of the analyzed periods occurred more than average interest in part of the problem areas
