Picosecond transfer from short-term to long-term memory in analog antiferromagnetic memory device
Experiments in materials with a compensated ordering of magnetic moments have
demonstrated a potential for approaching the thermodynamic limit of the fastest
and least-dissipative operation of a digital memory bit. In addition, these
materials are very promising for a construction of energy-efficient analog
devices with neuromorphic functionalities, which are inspired by
computing-in-memory capabilities of the human brain. In this paper, we report
on experimental separation of switching-related and heat-related resistance
signal dynamics in memory devices microfabricated from CuMnAs antiferromagnetic
metal. We show that the memory variable multilevel resistance can be used as a
long-term memory (LTM), lasting up to minutes at room temperature. In addition,
ultrafast reflectivity change and heat dissipation from nanoscale-thickness
CuMnAs films, taking place on picosecond to hundreds of nanoseconds time
scales, can be used as a short-term memory (STM). Information about input
stimuli, represented by femtosecond laser pulses, can be transferred from STM
to LTM after rehearsals at picosecond to nanosecond times in these memory
devices, where information can be retrieved at times up to 10^15 longer than
the input pulse duration. Our results open a route towards ultra-fast low-power
implementations of spiking neuron and synapse functionalities using a resistive
analog antiferromagnetic memory.Comment: 21 pages, 4 figure
'Working out’ identity: distance runners and the management of disrupted identity
This article contributes fresh perspectives to the empirical literature on the sociology of the body, and of leisure and identity, by analysing the impact of long-term injury on the identities of two amateur but serious middle/long-distance runners. Employing a symbolic interactionist framework,and utilising data derived from a collaborative autoethnographic project, it explores the role
of ‘identity work’ in providing continuity of identity during the liminality of long-term injury and
rehabilitation, which poses a fundamental challenge to athletic identity. Specifically, the analysis
applies Snow and Anderson’s (1995) and Perinbanayagam’s (2000) theoretical conceptualisations
in order to examine the various forms of identity work undertaken by the injured participants, along
the dimensions of materialistic, associative and vocabularic identifications. Such identity work was
found to be crucial in sustaining a credible sporting identity in the face of disruption to the running
self, and in generating momentum towards the goal of restitution to full running fitness and reengagement
with a cherished form of leisure.

Inclusive pion and eta production in p+Nb collisions at 3.5 GeV beam energy
Data on inclusive pion and eta production measured with the dielectron
spectrometer HADES in the reaction p+93Nb at a kinetic beam energy of 3.5 GeV
are presented. Our results, obtained with the photon conversion method,
supplement the rather sparse information on neutral meson production in
proton-nucleus reactions existing for this bombarding energy regime. The
reconstructed e+e-e+e- transverse-momentum and rapidity distributions are
confronted with transport model calculations, which account fairly well for

Production of Sigma{\pm}pi?pK+ in p+p reactions at 3.5 GeV beam energy
We study the production of Sigma^+-pi^+-pK^+ particle quartets in p+p
reactions at 3.5 GeV kinetic beam energy. The data were taken with the HADES
experiment at GSI. This report evaluates the contribution of resonances like
Lambda(1405$, Sigma(1385)^0, Lambda(1520), Delta(1232), N^* and K^*0 to the
Sigma^+- pi^-+ p K+ final state. The resulting simulation model is compared to
the experimental data in several angular distributions and it shows itself as
suitable to evaluate the acceptance corrections properly.Comment: 15 pages, 5 figure
Searching a Dark Photon with HADES
We present a search for the e+e- decay of a hypothetical dark photon, also
names U vector boson, in inclusive dielectron spectra measured by HADES in the
p (3.5 GeV) + p, Nb reactions, as well as the Ar (1.756 GeV/u) + KCl reaction.
An upper limit on the kinetic mixing parameter squared epsilon^{2} at 90% CL
has been obtained for the mass range M(U) = 0.02 - 0.55 GeV/c2 and is compared
with the present world data set. For masses 0.03 - 0.1 GeV/c^2, the limit has
been lowered with respect to previous results, allowing now to exclude a large
part of the parameter region favoured by the muon g-2 anomaly. Furthermore, an
improved upper limit on the branching ratio of 2.3 * 10^{-6} has been set on
the helicity-suppressed direct decay of the eta meson, eta-> e+e-, at 90% CL
Partial Wave Analysis of the Reaction to Search for the "" Bound State
Employing the Bonn-Gatchina partial wave analysis framework (PWA), we have
analyzed HADES data of the reaction . This
reaction might contain information about the kaonic cluster "" via its
decay into . Due to interference effects in our coherent description
of the data, a hypothetical (or, specifically "")
cluster signal must not necessarily show up as a pronounced feature (e.g. a
peak) in an invariant mass spectra like . Our PWA analysis includes a
variety of resonant and non-resonant intermediate states and delivers a good
description of our data (various angular distributions and two-hadron invariant
mass spectra) without a contribution of a cluster. At a
confidence level of CL=95\% such a cluster can not contribute more than
2-12\% to the total cross section with a final state, which
translates into a production cross-section between 0.7 and 4.2 ,
respectively. The range of the upper limit depends on the assumed cluster mass,

Subthreshold Xi- Production in Collisions of p(3.5 GeV)+Nb
Results on the production of the double-strange cascade hyperon
are reported for collisions of p\,(3.5~GeV)\,+\,Nb, studied
with the High Acceptance Di-Electron Spectrometer (HADES) at SIS18 at GSI
Helmholtzzentrum for Heavy-Ion Research, Darmstadt. For the first time,
subthreshold production is observed in proton-nucleus
interactions. Assuming a phase-space distribution similar to
that of hyperons, the production probability amounts to
resulting in a
ratio of $P_{\mathrm{\Xi^-}}/\
P_{\mathrm{\Lambda+\Sigma^0}}=(1.2\pm
0.3\,\mathrm{(stat)}\pm0.4\,\mathrm{(syst)})\times10^{-2}\mathrm{\Xi^-}$ yield.Comment: 6 pages, 3 figure
An upper limit on hypertriton production in collisions of Ar(1.76 AGeV)+KCl
A high-statistic data sample of Ar(1.76 AGeV)+KCl events recorded with HADES
is used to search for a hypertriton signal. An upper production limit per
centrality-triggered event of x on the level is
derived. Comparing this value with the number of successfully reconstructed
hyperons allows to determine an upper limit on the ratio

coalescence-type model calculations
