Die Verantwortung liegt dabei in den Händen der Autoren.IT-Applications are the lifeblood of each company. Caused by the requirements of the market the companies have to change their IT-systems regularly and substitute them by new applications. In former times companies bought »manpower« for the implementation of the new solutions but today they want their consultants to install turn-key applications. This change leads to the situation that many consultant companies try to ameliorate their customer relationship in offering own, proprietary solutions. In the following paper we will discuss this phenomenon. The term of »post-availability« will be introduced and a proposal for the realisation of open, post-available project solutions will be developed. These solutions are characterized by the fact that they don’t need any dependencies and that they lead to a »free play« of offer and request in the IT-consultant market. First we define the term »post-availability«, advantages and disadvantages will be discussed which leads to the contemplation of the main framework requirements (factors of success) of »post-availability« and their consequences. Chapter 4 provide a way how to develop a project-management-platform for »post-available« system integration projects. The realisation of the ideas will be carried out by the University of Applied Sciences Wildau and the PROMOS consult. The responsibility lies in the hands of both authors

Incidence of Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo and Course of Treatment Following Mild Head Trauma-Is It Worth Looking For?

BACKGROUND: This study aimed to identify the incidence of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo following head trauma. METHODS: This study is a prospective cross-sectional study. Initially, a targeted search for the identification of patients with the international classification of diseases (ICD-10) diagnosis of cerebral commotio at relevant emergency units in the Northern Region of Denmark was done. This was followed by a clinical examination to determine the incidence of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) within this population. Of the 295 patients diagnosed with commotio cerebri during a 4-and-a-half month period, 85 patients were included. All patients underwent clinical examination in a mechanical repositional chair wearing Video Frenzel Goggles. Additional examinations included a complete video head impulse test. RESULTS: A total of six patients were identified with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) following minor head trauma. Bilateral BPPV, multicanal BPPV, and BPPV of a single semicircular canal were identified. All patients experienced relief of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo-related symptoms within 3 treatment sessions. Five patients were identified with a pathological video head impulse test, 54 with an inconclusive examination, and 15 with a normal video head impulse test. CONCLUSION: The incidence of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo following minor head trauma was 7%. A relatively high number of atypical subtypes of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo was found. When applying strict criteria for the interpretation of video head impulse test examination, the number of patients with inconclusive video head impulse test examination was higher than expected and 6.7% of patients had a pathological video head impulse test examination. No relationship between benign paroxysmal positional vertigo and pathological video head impulse test was observed

Numerical and Experimental Modelling of a Wave Energy Converter Pitching in Close Proximity to a Fixed Structure

Free-floating bodies are commonly modelled using Cummins’ equation based on linear potential flow theory and including non-linear forces when necessary. In this paper, this methodology is applied to a body pitching around a fixed hinge (not free-floating) located close to a second bottom-fixed body. Due to the configuration of the setup, strong hydrodynamic interactions occur between the two bodies. An investigation is made into which non-linear forces need to be included in the model in order to accurately represent reality without losing computational efficiency. The non-linear forces investigated include hydrostatic restoring stiffness and different formulations of excitation forces and quadratic drag forces. Based on a numerical comparison, it is concluded that the different non-linear forces, except for the quadratic drag force, have a minor influence on the calculated motion of the pitching body. Two formulations of the quadratic drag force are shown to result in similar motions, hence the most efficient one is preferred. Comparisons to wave basin experiments show that this model is, to a large extent, representative of reality. At the wave periods where the hydrodynamic interactions between the bodies are largest, however, the amplitudes of motion measured in the wave basin are lower than those calculated numerically
