Light Curve Models of Supernovae and X-ray spectra of Supernova Remnants

We compare parameters of well-observed type II SN1999em derived by M.Hamuy and D.Nadyozhin based on Litvinova-Nadyozhin (1985) analytic fits with those found from the simulations with our radiative hydro code Stella. The difference of SN parameters is quite large for the long distance scale. The same code applied to models of SN1993J allows us to estimate systematic errors of extracting foreground extinction toward SN1993J suggested by Clocchiatti et al. (1995). A new implicit two-temperature hydro code code Supremna is introduced which self-consistently takes into account the kinetics of ionization, electron thermal conduction, and radiative losses for predicting X-ray spectra of young supernova remnants such as Tycho and Kepler.Comment: 7 pages, 10 figures, Supernovae as Cosmological Lighthouses, Padua, June 16- 19, 2004, eds. Production of Welding Fluxes Using Waste Slag Formed in Silicomanganese Smelting

    Get PDF
The possibility in principle of using slag, which is formed in the silicon-manganese smelting process, in producing welding fluxes is shown. The composition of and technology used for a new fused flux has been designed. A comparative evaluation of the new flux and the widely used AN-348 type flux was done. It has been proved that the new flux has high strength properties

Influence of various factors on chemical decomposition of oxyethylated isononylphenols

Oxidative decomposition of difficultly biodegradable nonionic surfactants, oxyethylated phenols with various degrees of oxyethylation (Neonols AF 9-6, 9-10, 9-12), was examined. The initial rate and extent of the oxidation depend on the degree of oxyethylation, anion of the iron salt added, and temperatureye

The regions of parametric instability of brush-contact device electromagnetic circuit in unstable working conditions

The method to determine parametric instability regions of the electromagnetic circuit of the secluded brush contact of brush-contact device with using the oscillation equation  Mathieu II order for a dissipative system with one degree of freedom is developed. Recommendations on the selection of the parameters of the external damping device to eliminate the instability of electromagnetic waves in unstable working conditions brush-contact device are  given

The results of the research, which was conducted in 2015 among the students and pupils of the Orel region with the purpose to identificate the Patriotic qualities among the representatives of the youth, are presented in the article. A comparative analysis of different age categories (8-graders (14–15 years), 11th graders (16–17 years) and University students (18–22 years) was made on the grounds of the results of the research. It shows a reduction in the level of patriotism at student age. We need to find fundamentally new ways for the effective solution of the problem of patriotic purposefulness of young people, whose will not lead to losing the Patriotic qualities with age, but to its increase and multiplication.

Coulomb plasmas in outer envelopes of neutron stars

    Get PDF
Outer envelopes of neutron stars consist mostly of fully ionized, strongly coupled Coulomb plasmas characterized by typical densities about 10^4-10^{11} g/cc and temperatures about 10^4-10^9 K. Many neutron stars possess magnetic fields about 10^{11}-10^{14} G. Here we briefly review recent theoretical advances which allow one to calculate thermodynamic functions and electron transport coefficients for such plasmas with an accuracy required for theoretical interpretation of observations.Comment: 4 pages, 2 figures, latex2e using cpp2e.cls (included).
