Data on 824 fireballs observed by the digital cameras of the European Fireball Network in 2017-2018. I. Description of the network, data reduction procedures, and the catalog

A catalog of 824 fireballs (bright meteors), observed by a dedicated network of all-sky digital photographic cameras in central Europe in the years 2017-2018 is presented. The status of the European Fireball Network, established in 1963, is described. The cameras collect digital images of meteors brighter than an absolute magnitude of about -2 and radiometric light curves with a high temporal resolution of those brighter than a magnitude ~ -4. All meteoroids larger than 5 grams, corresponding to sizes of about 2 cm, are detected regardless of their entry velocity. High-velocity meteoroids are detected down to masses of about 0.1 gram. The largest observed meteoroid in the reported period 2017-2018 had a mass of about 100 kg and a size of about 40 cm. The methods of data analysis are explained and all catalog entries are described in detail. The provided data include the fireball date and time, atmospheric trajectory and velocity, the radiant in various coordinate systems, heliocentric orbital elements, maximum brightness, radiated energy, initial and terminal masses, maximum encountered dynamic pressure, physical classification, and possible shower membership. Basic information on the fireball spectrum is available for some bright fireballs (apparent magnitude < -7). A simple statistical evaluation of the whole sample is provided. The first study of 54 new eccentric eclipsing binaries in our Galaxy

We present an analysis of the apsidal motion and light curve parameters of 54 galactic Algol-type binaries never before studied. This is the first analysis of such a large sample of eccentric eclipsing binaries in our Galaxy, and has enabled us to identify several systems that are worthy of further study. Bringing together data from various databases and surveys, supplemented with new observations, we have been able to trace the long-term evolution of the eccentric orbit over durations extending back up to several decades. Our present study explores a rather different sample of stars to those presented in the previously published catalogue of eccentric eclipsing binaries by Bulut & Demircan (2007), sampling to fainter magnitudes, covering later spectral types, sensitive to different orbital periods with more than 50% of our systems having periods longer than 6 days. The typical apsidal motion in the sample is rather slow (mostly of order of centuries long), although in some cases this is less than 50 years. All of the systems, except one, have eccentricities less than 0.5, with an average value of 0.23. Several of the stars also show evidence for additional period variability. In particular we can identify three systems in the sample, HD 44093, V611 Pup, and HD 313631, which likely represent relativistic apsidal rotators

BIOTIC DIVERSITY OF KARELIA: CONDITIONS OF FORMATION, COMMUNITIES AND SPECIES

The monograph generalises vast data characterising the diversity of the biota in Russian Karelia. The data pool includes both materials of long-term studies, and new data collected in 1997–2000 within the Russian-Finnish project “Inventory and studies of biological diversity in Republic of Karelia”. The volume is composed of four interrelated chapters. Chapter one provides a detailed account of the climatic, geological, geomorphological, hydrological and soil conditions in which the regional biota has been forming. Chapter two describes and evaluates the diversity of forest, mire and meadow communities, and the third chapter details the terrestrial biota at the species level (vascular plants, mosses, aphyllophoroid fungi, lichens, mammals, birds, insects). A special section is devoted to the flora and fauna of aquatic ecosystems (algae, zooplankton, periphyton, macrozoobenthos, fishes). Wide use is made of various zoning approaches based on biodiversity-related criteria. Current status of the regional biota, including its diversity in protected areas, is analysed with elements of the human impact assessment. A concise glossary of the terms used is annexed. This is an unprecedentally multi-faceted review, at least for the taiga zone of European Russia. The volume offers extensive reference materials for researchers in a widest range of ecological and biological fields, including graduate and post-graduate students. Мова як ключовий лінгвоментальний образ поетичної картини світу Сергія Жадана (на матеріалі збірки «Скрипниківка»)

Serhiy Zhadan (Based on the Material from the Collection «Skrypnikivka») In the article, for the first time, on the material of Serhiy Zhadan’s new poetry collection «Skrypnikivka», the peculiarities of the structuring of the image of the native language are revealed and characterized, its functioning in the chronological limits of «before» and «after» is revealed. It was found that the dominant representatives of the most diverse intonations of the sound of the Ukrainian word in the analyzed collection are the lexical-semantic paradigms of lexemes speech (with derivatives – more than 80 word usages), voice, word, sound, letter, sound, speaking, singing, etc. and a number of proper linguistic terms (mostly from the field of phonetics and graphics), as well as individual literary terms. It has been established that the lexemes language, word and voice represent the modern life of language, objectify language and speech concepts (phenomena) belonging to the linguistic sphere, through the prism of temporal and local dimensions of the present military time, individual authorial understanding and tropeic modeling of the poetic image of language. In Serhiy Zhadan’s artistic picture of the world, the native language became a key symbol of eternal life, spiritual unity, national code, a manifestation of the author’s active linguistic awareness and true patriotism.У статті вперше на матеріалі нової поетичної збірки Сергія Жадана «Скрипниківка» виявлено та схарактеризовано особливості структурування образу рідної мови, розкрито її функціонування в хронологічних межах «до» і «після». З’ясовано, що домінантними репрезентантами найрізноманітніших інтонацій звучання українського слова в аналізованій збірці є лекси- ко-семантичні парадигми лексем «мова» (із похідними – понад 80 слововживань), «голос», «слово», «звук», «літера», «звучання», «говоріння», «співання» тощо та низка власне лінгвістичних термінів (здебільшого зі сфери фонетики та графіки), а також поодинокі літературознавчі терміни. Встановлено, що лексеми «мова», «слово» та «голос» репрезентують сучасне життя мови, об’єктивують мовні й мовленнєві поняття (явища), належні до лінгвістичної сфери, крізь призму темпоральних і локальних вимірів воєнного сьогодення, індивідуально-авторського осмислення та тропеїчного моделювання поетичного образу мова. Домінанти художнього ідіолекту Пантелеймона Куліша

The article is devoted to the characterization of the language picture of the Panteleimon Kulish world through the prism of lexical and phraseological dominants as significant components of the author’s hierarchy of artistic idolect, represented by the conceptosphere, its objectifiers, lexical and phraseological verbalizers. It was found that P. Kulish’s artistic language has successfully combined folk-speaking sources of the Ukrainian language with elements of the Old Ukrainian linguistic tradition, representing high number of other dominant positions of the author, which serve as the core of his poetic and fictiontexts. The functions of the linguistic dominant are performed by units of lexical-semantic and phraseological levels. They objectify the richness of the lexical-semantic and phrasal composition of the language of P. Kulish’s works in general. The author’s texts reflect the deep and expressive Ukrainian-centrism through the prism of time-space constituents of the megaconcept Ukraine. The distinctive dominant features of P. Kulish’s artistic idiolect are the verbalized folk motifs explicating spoken sources, the folk components of the system of expressive and imaginative means. The emotional and evaluative dominance of the artistic idiolect as a reflection of the intensities of the linguistic personality is deduced. It is established that the principle of "living ethnography" oriented the author to the reproduction of deep folk traditions in prose and poetic texts, which combined emotional-evaluation lexemes with deminitive-meliorative and augmentative-pejorative suffixes and nationally labeled paraphrases. The distinguished dominants of the writer’s artistic idolect reflect the synthesis of the author’s worldview, the individual system of approaches to different verbal means and methods, their choice. The idiosyncrasy of the writer is observed in the reproduction of the living linguistic element of the masses, in the objectification of the national identity of peasant life, folk customs and rituals; in the close relationship of personal speach and epoch.Статтю присвячено характеристиці мовної картини світу Пантелеймона Куліша крізь призму лексико-фразеологічних домінант як вагомих складників ієрархії художнього ідіолекту автора, репрезентованих концептосферою, її об’єктиваторами, лексичними та фразеологічними вербалізаторами – маркерами мовомислення письменника. Виявлено, що художній ідіолект П. Куліша вдало поєднав народнорозмовні джерела української мови з елементами староукраїнської мовної традиції, репрезентувавши низку вагомих домінантних позицій автора, які слугують осердям його поетичних і белетристичних текстів. Функції мовних домінант виконують одиниці лексико-семантичного та фразеологічного рівнів. Вони об’єктивують багатство лексико-семантичного та фраземного складу мови творів П. Куліша загалом й активне вживання одиниць лексико-граматичних класів окремих стилістичних пластів зокрема. Тексти творів письменника відбивають глибокий і виразний україноцентризм крізь призму часо-просторових складників мегаконцепту Україна. До виразних домінантних рис художнього ідіолекту П. Куліша належать вербалізовані фольклорні мотиви, що експлікують уснорозмовні джерела, фольклорні складники системи виражально-зображальних засобів. Простежено емоційно-оцінну домінанту художнього ідіолекту письменникаяк відбиток інтенцій мовної особистості. Встановлено, що принцип "живої етнографії" орієнтував автора на відтворення глибинних фольклорних традицій у прозових і поетичних текстах, які поєднали емотивно-оцінні лексеми з демінутивно-меліоративними та аугментативно-пейоративними суфіксами, національно марковані перифрази, образи-символи, фразеологічне розмаїття. Виокремлені домінанти художнього ідіолекту письменника належать до ядерних, вони відбивають синтез авторського світобачення та світовідчуття, індивідуальну систему підходів до різних вербальних засобів і способів, їх вибору, тобто власне авторської репрезентації інтенцій через ідіолект. Самобутність художнього ідіолекту письменника – у відтворенні живої мовної стихії народних мас, в об’єктивації національної самобутності селянського побуту, народних звичаїв і обрядів; у тісних взаємозв’язках мови особистості й мови епохи
