Perfluoroether triazine elastomers
The synthesis of high performance elastomers with the high thermal stability and chemical, inertness of perfluoroalkylene triazine and a low glass transition temperature is discussed. Perfluorether triazine elastomers were proposed as potentially superior. It is concluded that the difficulties experienced in fluoroalkytriazine elastomer synthesis can be overcome by a four-step reaction process involving chain extension, triazine ring closure, crosslinking, and elastomer curing. Molecular weight can be controlled in the initial polymer formation so that elastomer modulus can be determined. The final product elastomers exhibit a useful elastomeric range of approximately 45 to 325 C with an oxidative stability superior to other broad range elastomers

Crosslinking elastomeric polytriazines are prepared by a 4 step procedure which consists of (1) forming a poly(imidoylamidine) by the reaction, under reflux conditions, of anhydrous ammonia with certain perfluorinated alkyl or alkylether dinitriles; (2) forming a linear polytriazine by cyclizing the imidoylamidine linkages by reaction with certain perfluorinated alkyl or alkylether acid anhydrides or halides; (3) extending the linear polytriazine chain by further refluxing in anhydrous ammonia; and (4) heating to cyclize the new imidoylamidine and thereby crosslink the polymer
Content Authentication for Neural Imaging Pipelines: End-to-end Optimization of Photo Provenance in Complex Distribution Channels
Forensic analysis of digital photo provenance relies on intrinsic traces left
in the photograph at the time of its acquisition. Such analysis becomes
unreliable after heavy post-processing, such as down-sampling and
re-compression applied upon distribution in the Web. This paper explores
end-to-end optimization of the entire image acquisition and distribution
workflow to facilitate reliable forensic analysis at the end of the
distribution channel. We demonstrate that neural imaging pipelines can be
trained to replace the internals of digital cameras, and jointly optimized for
high-fidelity photo development and reliable provenance analysis. In our
experiments, the proposed approach increased image manipulation detection
accuracy from 45% to over 90%. The findings encourage further research towards
building more reliable imaging pipelines with explicit provenance-guaranteeing

The Changes of Vegetation of Neglected Fields as Habitats of the Natural Flora Within the Biosphere Reserve «Western Polessie» in Their Renaturalization

біосферного резервату після припинення їхнього сільськогосподарського використання. Відображено особливості формування рослинності на старооранках як специфічних оселищах природної флори. Зроблено висновок, що сучасний рослинний покрив старооранок має клоново-парцелярну структуру.
According to long-term studies of vegetation change described in the former fields within the biosphere reserve after the cessation of agricultural use. Displaying features formation of plant communities on old as the specific habitats of the natural flora. p_T-fluctuations in high-energy p-p and A-A collisions
The event-by-event p_T-fluctuations in proton-proton and central Pb-Pb
collisions, which have been experimentally studied by means of the so-called
Phi-measure, are analyzed. The contribution due to the correlation which
couples the average p_T to the event multiplicity is computed. The correlation
appears to be far too weak to explain the preliminary experimental value of Phi
(p_T) in p-p interactions. The significance of the result is discussed.Comment: 5 pages, 2 figures, minor improvement
Atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide and its isotopic composition in southern Poland: comparison of high-altitude mountain site and a near-by urban environment
International audienceThe results of regular observations of atmospheric CO2 mixing ratios and its carbon isotope composition (?13C, ?14C), carried out at two continental sites located in central Europe are presented and discussed. The sites (Kasprowy Wierch, 49°14' N, 19°59' E, 1989 m a.s.l.; Krakow, 50°04' N, 19°55' E, 220 m a.s.l.), are located in two contrasting environments: (i) high-altitude mountaneous area, relatively free of anthropogenic influences, and (ii) typical urban environment with numerous local sources of carbon dioxide. Despite of relative proximity of those sites (ca. 100 km), substantial differences in both the recorded CO2 levels and their isotopic composition were detected. The CO2 mixing ratios measured in the urban atmosphere revealed quasi-permanent excess concentration of this gas when compared with near-by background atmosphere. The annual mean CO2 concentration recorded in Krakow in 2004 was almost 10% higher than that recorded at high-altitude mountain site (Kasprowy Wierch). Such effect is occuring probably in all urban centers. Carbon isotopic composition of atmospheric CO2 proved to be efficient tool for identification the surface CO2 fluxes into the atmosphere related to fossil fuel burning and their influence on the recorded levels of this gas in the local atmosphere. The available records of ?14C for Krakow and Kasprowy Wierch suggest gradual reduction of 14C-free CO2 fluxes into the urban atmosphere of Krakow in the past several years
Thermal fluctuations in the interacting pion gas
We derive the two-particle fluctuation correlator in a thermal gas of
pi-mesons to the lowest order in an interaction due to a resonance exchange. A
diagrammatic technique is used. We discuss how this result can be applied to
event-by-event fluctuations in heavy-ion collisions, in particular, to search
for the critical point of QCD. As a practical example, we determine the shape
