    Spin alignment of K(892)±K^*(892)^\pm mesons produced in neutron-carbon interactions

    A new precise measurements of spin density matrix element ρ00\rho_{00} of K(892)±K^*(892)^{\pm} mesons produced inclusively in neutron-carbon interactions at \~60 GeV have been carried out in the EXCHARM experiment at the Serpukhov accelerator. The values of ρ00\rho_{00} obtained in the transversity frame are 0.424±0.011(stat)±0.018(sys)0.424\pm0.011(stat)\pm0.018(sys) for K(892)+K^*(892)^+ and 0.393±0.025(stat)±0.018(sys)0.393\pm0.025(stat)\pm0.018(sys) for K(892)K^*(892)^-. Significant PTP_T dependence of ρ00\rho_{00} has been observed in K(892)+K^*(892)^+ production.Comment: 8 pages, LaTeX, 3 eps figure

    Mitoxantrone, pixantrone, and mitoxantrone (2-hydroxyethyl)piperazine are toll-like receptor 4 antagonists, inhibit NF-κB activation, and decrease TNF-alpha secretion in primary microglia

    Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) recognizes various endogenous and microbial ligands and is an essential part in the innate immune system. TLR4 signaling initiates transcription factor NF-κB and production of proinflammatory cytokines. TLR4 contributes to the development or progression of various diseases including stroke, neuropathic pain, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis and cancer, and better therapeutics are currently sought for these conditions. In this study, a library of 140 000 compounds was virtually screened and a resulting hit-list of 1000 compounds was tested using a cellular reporter system. The topoisomerase II inhibitor mitoxantrone and its analogues pixantrone and mitoxantrone (2-hydroxyethyl)piperazine were identified as inhibitors of TLR4 and NF-κB activation. Mitoxantrone was shown to bind directly to the TLR4, and pixantrone and mitoxantrone (2- hydroxyethyl)piperazine were shown to inhibit the production of proinflammatory cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFα) in primary microglia. The inhibitory effect on NF-κB activation or on TNFα pro-duction was not mediated through cytotoxity at ≤ 1 μM concentration for pixantrone and mitoxantrone (2- hydroxyethyl)piperazine treated cells, as assessed by ATP counts.     Inhibition by mitoxantrone of In vitro migration of immunocompetent cells: A possible mechanism for therapeutic efficacy in the treatment of multiple sclerosis

    Background Damage of the blood-brain barrier and invasion of immunocompetent cells into the central nervous system represent key events in the immunopathogenesis of multiple sclerosis. Mitoxantrone hydrochloride reduces progression of disability and clinical exacerbations in patients with multiple sclerosis. Its precise mode of action is unclear. Objective To investigate the effects of mitoxantrone on the migratory capacity of immunocompetent cells ex vivo and in vitro. Design Case-control study. Setting Department of Neurology, Heinrich Heine University, D\ufcsseldorf, Germany. Participants Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) were obtained from 11 patients with multiple sclerosis before and after intravenous mitoxantrone treatment; PBMCs from 5 healthy control donors were treated with mitoxantrone in vitro. Main Outcome Measures The migratory capacity was studied in an in vitro Boyden chamber assay; cells and their rates of migration were analyzed by light microscopy and flow cytometry. To determine the specificity of our findings, PBMCs were treated with perfosfamide in vitro. Results Mitoxantrone decreased the migratory capacity of CD14+ monocytes and (to a lesser degree) of CD4+ and CD8+ T lymphocytes. These observations were confirmed when control PBMCs were treated with an equivalent dose of mitoxantrone in vitro. Similar effects were seen when PBMCs were preincubated with perfosfamide. The inhibitory effects of mitoxantrone on the migratory capacity of PBMCs were mediated by reduced matrix metalloproteinase 9 activity, as demonstrated by zymography, polymerase chain reaction, and inhibitory studies. Conclusion Mitoxantrone may inhibit the migration of inflammatory cells into and within the central nervous system

    დადგენილია აღმოსავლეთ საქართველოს ცხრა ძირითადი ს/ს კულტურის ზრდისა და განვითარების სხვადასხვა პერიოდისათვის სარწყავი ნორმები. კვლევებმა აჩვენეს, რომ ყველა აღნიშნული კულტურა სავეგეტაციო პერიოდის განმავლობაში რამოდენიმე მორწყვას მოითხოვს. დადგენილი სარწყავი ნორმები დამოკიდებულია როგორც თვით ს/ს კულტურაზე, ისე ნიადაგის მექანიკურ შემადგენლობაზე. მსუბუქი მექანიკური შემადგენლობის ნიადაგებისათვის სარწყავი ნორმები მძიმე მექანიკური შემადგენლობის ნიადაგების სარწყავი ნორმების სიდიდეების 70_75% შეადგენენ.ცხრ.9,ლიტ.დას.3.Watering norms for various periods of growth and development of 9 basic agricultural crops of Eastern Georgia have been determined. Investigations demonstrated that during the vegetation period all mentioned crops need several waterings. Determined watering norms depend both upon an agricultural crop itself and mechanic composition of soil. Watering norms for soils of light mechanic composition makes 70-75% of the values of water-ing norms for soils of heavy mechanic composition.Tab.9,Ref.3.Установлены поливные нормы для различных периодов роста и развития девяти основных сельскохозяйственных культур Восточной Грузии. Иследования показали, что в течение вегетационного периода все рассмотренные культуры требуют нескольких поливов. Установленные поливные нормы зависят как от самой с.-х. культуры, так и от механического состава почвы. Поливные нормы для почв лекого механического состава составляют 70-75% от величин поливных норм для почв тяжелого механиче-ского состава.таб.9,лит.3
