    Elements of the Nonlinear Theory of Elasticity Based on Tensor-Nonlinear Equations

    The chapter contains information that forms the basis of a new direction in the nonlinear theory of elasticity. The theory, having adopted the mathematical apparatus obtained in the middle of the last century, after its analysis, is used with significant changes. This concept allows us to more accurately reveal the mechanism of deformation of materials, the elastic nature of which significantly depends on the type of stress state, due to the growth of additional volumetric deformation associated with the accumulation of defects, called dilatation. The work is original — after abandoning the elasticity characteristics in the form of modules - constants, the main role is assigned to material functions, which represent statistical characteristics. Their relation can be considered a coefficient of variation and a parameter of tensor nonlinearity, which makes it possible to represent the deformation in the form of two parts, different in origin

    Reservoir Computing with Boolean Logic Network Circuits

    To push the frontiers of machine learning, completely new computing architectures must be explored which efficiently use hardware resources. We test an unconventional use of digital logic gate circuits for reservoir computing, a machine learning algorithm that is used for rapid time series processing. In our approach, logic gates are configured into networks that can exhibit complex dynamics. Rather than the gates explicitly computing pre-programmed instructions, they are used collectively as a dynamical system that transforms input data into a higher dimensional representation. We probe the dynamics of such circuits using discrete components on a circuit board as well as an FPGA implementation. We show favorable machine learning performance, including radiofrequency classification accuracy comparableto a state of the art convolutional neural network with a fraction of the trainable parameters. Finally, we discuss the design and fabrication of a reservoir computing ASIC for high-speed time series processing

    Conditions and Opportunities for Overcoming the Economic Crisis

    Purpose: the purpose of the presented article is to study the conditions and possibilities of overcoming the protracted economic crisis in Russia.Methods: the study is based on the use of a modified information logic model, which establishes the relationships between the identified bottlenecks, the causes of their occurrence and possible ways to eliminate these causes.Results: the possibilities of overcoming the crisis are, first of all, to use the potential accumulated in the Russian economy, dispersed by sectors of the complete technological reproduction cycle, including the extraction of resources, their processing into useful materials and semi-finished products, the production of machinery and equipment, as well as the production of final products, the provision of services, infrastructure and waste disposal. Simultaneously with the search for opportunities for economic growth, it is necessary to draw the attention of the Russian Government and the legislative and executive heads to the necessity to correct the strategic mistakes. They were conducted in the process of choosing a resource-export development strategy, separating the financial sector from the support and interests of the development of domestic industrial production sector, ignoring the potential and opportunities for the development of the domestic scientific and technological complex, using imperfect economic management mechanisms, etc. The work justifies the need to overcome a long economic crisis via the management of new opportunities breakthrough, which involves the harmonious development of all economic sectors based on supporting a domestic scientific and technical complex capable to ensure the high technologies development and the competitive products production.Conclusions and Relevance: substantiating and choosing ways to overcome the economic crisis should be focused on achieving harmonious development of all sectors of the economy and using in management practices at the national, corporate and company levels, such methods and instruments of targeted projects and programs management, which are the core basis for economy and society development strategies

    Following an introduction discussing some properties of maps Q --> Q and Q x Q --> Q, where Q denotes the ring of quaternions, it is shown that many equations of mathematical physics can be written in this formalism. A concept of Frechet differentiation is given in this setting, in a manner analogous to the usual definition. Variational principles are derived.     Mutual modality learning for video action classification

    The construction of models for video action classification progresses rapidly. However, the performance of those models can still be easily improved by ensembling with the same models trained on different modalities (e.g. Optical flow). Unfortunately, it is computationally expensive to use several modalities during inference. Recent works examine the ways to integrate advantages of multi-modality into a single RGB-model. Yet, there is still room for improvement. In this paper, we explore various methods to embed the ensemble power into a single model. We show that proper initialization, as well as mutual modality learning, enhances single-modality models. As a result, we achieve state-of-the-art results in the Something-Something-v2 benchmark
