Absolute dimensions of detached eclipsing binaries. III. The metallic-lined system YZ Cassiopeiae
The bright binary system YZ Cassiopeiae is a remarkable laboratory for
studying the Am phenomenon. It consists of a metallic-lined A2 star and an F2
dwarf on a circular orbit, which undergo total and annular eclipses. We present
an analysis of 15 published light curves and 42 new high-quality echelle
spectra, resulting in measurements of the masses, radii, effective temperatures
and photospheric chemical abundances of the two stars. The masses and radii are
measured to 0.5% precision: M_A = 2.263 +/- 0.012 Msun, M_B = 1.325 +/- 0.007
Msun, R_A = 2.525 +/- 0.011 Rsun and R_B = 1.331 +/- 0.006 Rsun. We determine
the abundance of 20 elements for the primary star, of which all except scandium
are super-solar by up to 1 dex. The temperature of this star (9520 +/- 120 K)
makes it one of the hottest Am stars. We also measure the abundances of 25
elements for its companion (Teff = 6880 +/- 240 K), finding all to be solar or
slightly above solar. The photospheric abundances of the secondary star should
be representative of the bulk composition of both stars. Theoretical stellar
evolutionary models are unable to match these properties: the masses, radii and
temperatures imply a half-solar chemical composition (Z = 0.009 +/- 0.003) and
an age of 490-550 Myr. YZ Cas therefore presents a challenge to stellar
evolutionary theory.Comment: Accepted for publication in MNRAS. 15 pages, 9 tables, 7 figure
The Library of the Ethnographic Museum in Zagreb
The Library of the Ethnographic Museum is a special museum library. It is of a semiclosed type, which is the case with most special and museum libraries. It is primarily intended for the museum staff: curators, conservators and preparators. It was founded not long after the museum had been established and it grew simultaneously with the museum collection. The paper provides an overview of its history, some of its more important collections and the processing of the publications. Nevertheless, it also presents some of the problems faced
Exchange of Library Material of Ethnographic Museum in Zagreb
Rad prikazuje praksu razmjene knjižniÄne graÄe Etnografskog muzeja u Zagrebu kao
jedan od bitnih segmenata rada muzejske knjižnice. Razmjena se odvija od samih
poÄetaka rada Muzeja. Muzej ima razmjerno veliku razmjenu s brojnim ustanovama
u Hrvatskoj i inozemstvu. Pri razmjeni postoje odreÄeni problemi koji imaju viÅ”e
uzroka: nedostatak kvalificiranog knjižniÄarskog osoblja u muzejima, manjak novca
The paper presents the practice of exchange of library material of Ethnographic
Museum in Zagreb as one of essential segments of work in a museum library. The
exchange has been going on since the Museum beginning. The Museum has a comparatively
big exchange with a number of institutions in Croatia and abroad. Certain
problems occurring in exchange are caused by: lack of qualified library staff in
museums and lack of resources for exchange. Exchange of publications is only one of
the segments of work in museum libraries that points to the need to solve the status of
these libraries as well as status of museum librarians
A Systematic Review of Anti-Brand Website Literature: What We Know and What We Need To Know
The emergence of Web 1.0 began an evolution in electronic communication. This platform resulted in a unidirectional communication flow (e.g. firm to consumer) that featured firms generating messages for public consumption. Web 1.0 gave rise to Web 2.0 and 3.0 platforms that facilitate bi-directional communication between firms and the public. This new method has resulted in an increase in consumer empowerment to create and disseminate marketing messages of their own (Williams, Crittenden, Keo, & McCarty, 2012). Third party stakeholders are disseminating electronic word-of-mouth communications about companies through the use of video, reviews, forums, microblogs and multiple other channels (Gil-Or, 2010). One important and rapidly growing outlet for these uncontrolled marketing communications is the anti-brand website (Bailey, 2004). Anti-brand websites provide a convenient and highly viewable platform for consumers, current and former employees, vendors and other parties interested in the targeted firm and/or brand, to share information as well as their opinions about a companyās products or services. Anti-brand websites are rapidly growing in quantity, scope, breadth, and perhaps influence. Large corporations are taking notice and are reported to be responding in a generally ad hoc fashion (Wolrich, 2005)
problemi unutar pojedinih sustava. Ta se naÄela temelje u prvom redu na semantiÄkim i
pragmatiÄkim odnosima. Älanak se daje lingvistiÄkoj zajednici da vidi kako se druge discipline
koriste dostignuÄima lingvistike i kako bez lingvistike neke discipline i ne mogu razvijati
svoje sustave
