Exploring the role of graphic design in enhancing the brand identity and menu designs of restaurants: a case study approach

    Get PDF
This Thesis examines the important role of graphic design in improving restaurant branding and menu design using a case study approach. The aim is to explore how effective graphic design strategies can help create a strong brand presence and compelling menu design in the restaurant industry. It includes two design projects: the development of the visual identity for an ice cream restaurant and a salad restaurant. The effectiveness of these graphic design interventions in increasing awareness, attracting customers, and conveying brand personality is analyzed and discussed. The findings provide valuable insight into the world of restaurant branding and the impact of well-executed graphic design on creating a successful business identity

The effect of molecular structure of chlorin photosensitizers on photo-bleaching of 1,3-diphenylisobenzofuran—the possible evidence of iodine reactive species formation

In this short communication, we focus on the ability of chlorin e6_{6} photosensitizers (PSs) with one, two or three cationic groups to generate singlet oxygen species (1^{1}O2_{2}) in an apolar model medium, viz. 1-octanol (OctOH). The quantum yield of 1^{1}O2_{2} (ΦΔ\Phi _{\Delta }) is determined indirectly by the chemical method for seven synthesized PSs using 1,3-diphenylisobenzofuran (DPBF) as a singlet oxygen trap. The ΦΔ\Phi _{\Delta } values of four PSs with one or two cationic groups occupying opposite positions in the macrocycle are equal to 0.6, which is nearly identical to the values obtained by the time-resolved fluorescence spectroscopy method. In contrast, three PSs containing a 3(1),3(2)-bis-(N,N,N-trimethylaminomethylvinyl) iodide fragment with two adjacent cationic groups have an abnormally high quantum yield reaching 0.8. It is apparent that this phenomenon results from faster trap oxidation induced by radical reactions leading to molecular iodine formation

Influences of acculturation on house form as reflected in a Russian immigrant group in the United States

The purpose of this research is an exploration of the influences of acculturation on house form, as it is reflected in a space plan, of Russian immigrants in the United States. In order to observe how cultural change influences house form this research explores the nature of the relationship between culture and house form, the acculturation process, the cultural background and the present day life of the Russian immigrant group. Demographic research indicates that a foreign-born population of the United States represents a large number of the homeowners. Thus, in residential design cultural needs of this population should be considered. The consideration of the cultural needs results in a culturally appropriate environment. This environment is also called supportive because it promotes familiar activities for the inhabitants. This does not require restructuring cognitive schemata, thus reduces stress. The reduction of stress is necessary in early stages of acculturation because recent immigrants experience multiple stresses upon arrival in a new country. However, the amount of experienced stress and a need for a culturally appropriate environment can change under the influence of a different culture. This cultural change that happened as a result of a conjunction of two or more autonomous cultural systems constitutes acculturation. Since design and culture are intimately related a change in culture can result in a change of housing needs and preferences. This research explores this relationship of design and culture by focusing on the exploration of influences of acculturation on house form of Russian immigrants. This exploration suggests that the American house type is not a culturally specific environment for the newly arrived immigrants. Hence, it does not constitute a supportive environment. The understanding of the culturally appropriate environment resulted in a set of guidelines for a space planning of the Russian immigrants' house

NUMERICAL MODELLING OF THERMOMECHANICAL PROCESSES IN HALF-TRANSPARENT MATERIALS UNDER THE ACTION OF THE CONTINUOUS LASER RADIATION ON THEM

Thermoelastic stresses in half-transparent materials are investigated in the paper aiming at the development of a physical-mathematical model of thermomechanical processes in scattering half-transparent materials, irradiated by a continuous laser. The development of algorithms and programs, making it possible to simulate the stressed-deformed state in samples of these materials with the account of the influence of physical, geometrical and power parameters is also the aim of the paper. As a result an original model, algorithms and programs, making it possible to calculate thermoelastic stresses, induced by the continuous laser radiation in scattering half-transparent materials, in the two-dimensional formulation have been created. The influence of principle on the distribution of thermoelastic stresses in half-transparent materials of optical parameters has been demonstrated for the first timeAvailable from VNTIC / VNTIC - Scientific & Technical Information Centre of RussiaSIGLERURussian Federatio

Representations of happiness and life satisfaction in the group of educated and socially active young people

The paper examines the differences in the social representations of happiness among optimists and pessimists in the group of socially active, educated young members of the international youth organization Association Internationale des Etudiants en Sciences Economiques et Commerciales . To assess the degree of optimism and pessimism we used the Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS) developed by E. Diener, while social representation, divided into the nucleus and peripheral zones, were examined using Verges’ technique within the framework of the concept of social mindsets offered by S. Moskovichi. It has been shown that, irrespective of the optimism or pessimism of the participants, the nucleus of their representations of happiness contains such a value as love. However, only in optimists’ representations is this value combined in the nucleus with the values of family and friendship. In the pessimists’ nucleus zone of the representation of happiness, love is presented as an independent value, primarily associated with striking emotional experiences, which has aspects of psychological addiction. Considerable differences between optimists and pessimists have also been found in the peripheral zone of the representation of happiness. Only optimists have such associations as “knowledge”, “children”, and “faith” in their peripheral area. In our opinion, the major scale of differences between optimists and pessimists is formed by the factor of sociocentricity and egocentricity
