A and B branes from N=2 superspace
We present a manifestly supersymmetric description of A and B branes on
Kaehler manifolds using a completely local N=2 superspace formulation of the
world-sheet nonlinear sigma-model in the presence of a boundary. In particular,
we show that an N=2 superspace description of type A boundaries is possible.
This leads to a concrete realization of the still poorly understood coisotropic
A branes. We also discuss briefly how the superspace description of a B brane
provides an efficient way to compute higher loop beta-functions. In particular,
we sketch how one obtains the fourth order derivative correction to the
Born-Infeld action by using a beta-function method.Comment: 8 pages, contribution to the proceedings of the Third Workshop of the

Tri-Sasakian consistent reduction
We establish a universal consistent Kaluza-Klein truncation of M-theory based
on seven-dimensional tri-Sasakian structure. The four-dimensional truncated
theory is an N=4 gauged supergravity with three vector multiplets and a
non-abelian gauge group, containing the compact factor SO(3). Consistency
follows from the fact that our truncation takes exactly the same form as a
left-invariant reduction on a specific coset manifold, and we show that the
same holds for the various universal consistent truncations recently put
forward in the literature. We describe how the global symmetry group SL(2,R) x
SO(6,3) is embedded in the symmetry group E7(7) of maximally supersymmetric
reductions, and make the connection with the approach of Exceptional
Generalized Geometry. Vacuum AdS4 solutions spontaneously break the amount of
supersymmetry from N=4 to N=3,1 or 0, and the spectrum contains massive modes.
We find a subtruncation to minimal N=3 gauged supergravity as well as an N=1
subtruncation to the SO(3)-invariant sector. We also show that a reduction on
the homogeneous space N^{010} enhances the universal tri-Sasakian truncation
with a Betti vector multiplet.Comment: 40 pages main text, 9 pages appendix, 1 figure, 6 tables, v2: JHEP

Large wind energy converter: Growian 3 MW
The main features of the Growian wind energy converter are presented. Energy yield, environmental impact, and construction of the energy converter are discussed. Reliability of the windpowered system is assessed
Towards an Effective Action for D-Branes
We introduce and review several indirect methods to calculate the effective
action for a single D-brane or a set of coinciding D-branes.Comment: 7 pages, LaTeX, needs fortschritte.sty, contribution to the

The non-abelian D-brane effective action through order
Requiring the existence of certain BPS solutions to the equations of motion,
we determine the bosonic part of the non-abelian D-brane effective action
through order . We also propose an economic organizational
principle for the effective action.Comment: 12 pages, 2 figures, JHEP styl
Supersymmetric D-branes on flux backgrounds
Several aspects concerning the physics of D-branes in Type II flux
compactifications preserving minimal N=1 supersymmetry in four dimensions are
considered. It is shown how these vacua are completely characterized in terms
of properly defined generalized calibrations for D-branes and the relation with
Generalized Complex Geometry is discussed. General expressions for
superpotentials and D-terms associated with the N=1 four-dimensional
description of space-time filling D-branes are presented. The massless spectrum
of calibrated D-branes can be characterized in terms of cohomology groups of a
differential complex canonically induced on the D-branes by the underlying
generalized complex structure.Comment: 9 pages; contribution to the proceedings of the RTN project

AdS/CFT Duality and the Higgs Branch of SYM
We construct the AdS description of the Higgs branch of the finite {\cal N}=2
Sp(N) gauge theory with one antisymmetric hypermultiplet and four fundamental
hypermultiplets. Holography, combined with the non-renormalization of the
metric on the Higgs branch, leads to novel constraints on unknown terms in the
non-abelian Dirac-Born-Infeld action. These terms include non-minimal couplings
of D-branes to bulk supergravity fields.Comment: 8 pages. Talk given by Z.G. at 37th International Symposium

CLOFFAR - update 3 - supplement to Checklist of the Freshwater Fishes of Argentina
In May 2016 we have published the second update to CLOFFAR and in these few months a total of 22 changes have summed up. The total number of fishes known from the freshwaters of Argentina has increased to 538, caused by one new Hoplias and 13 first records. Four new combinations and four synonymizations do not have influence on the total count. The paper of most importance in quantity without doubt is the one of Casciotta et al. on their findings in the Iguazú National Park, unfortunately also including two first records of exotic introduced species, Clarias gariepinus and Geophagus brasiliensis. Clarias gariepinus was included in this update against our standard to only recognize records which have been published based on voucher material. In this case the determination could undoubtfully be done based on a photo and this invasive species has been reported before from the lower Iguazú river in Brazil in 2012 already. The confirmation of Crenicichla iguassuensis has undergone some see-saw development in the past and the respective remarks can be found when following the link. Also another publication needs to be commented on: The synonymyzations of four rivulids by Calviño has been published as an isolated statement beyond any systematical context. Nevertheless, it has been formally published and in some of these cases the probability of being synonyms had been stated previously by other authors. Future will show the resilience and acceptance of those synonymizations. The paper of Ortí et al. dates from 2008 and was simply not known to us before and thus, the new combination of Myloplus tiete from Myleus is only included now, eigth years later.Fil: Koerber, Stefan.
