Author Institution: Department of Chemistry, Harvard UniversityCsF produced by reactively scattered beams of Cs and SF6SF_{6} has been studied in a molecular beam electric resonance spectrometer. The radio frequency rotational transitions (ΔM=±1,ΔJ=0)(\Delta M = \pm 1, \Delta J = 0) with resolved vibrational structure are observed. It is found that the lowest four vibrational states are appreciably populated. The relative intensities of the observed lines can be described approximately by a Boltzmann distribution corresponding to a temperature of about 800∘K800^{\circ} K. This distribution is qualitatively different from that predicted by a simple spectator-stripping reaction mechanism
