The creativity of an advertisement campaign is one of the most relevant predictors of its success. Past research has highlighted the relevance of domain-specific experience in enhancing creativity, but the results are controversial. We explored the role of work experience, in terms of number of years spent in the advertisement domain, in various forms of creativity expressed within this specific working domain. We hypothesized a mediator role of experience in the relationship between the individual’s creative potential, as measured through a series of divergent thinking tasks, and creative achievement in the advertisement domain. Moreover, considering the importance of personality in creative achievement, we also explored the influence of the openness-to-experience on advertisers’ creative achievement. A range of measures assessing creative achievement, openness, and divergent thinking abilities in terms of fluency and originality were administered to a group of professionals in the advertisement domain. The results demonstrate a crucial role for experience in the connection between originality and creative achievement. Moreover, our findings extend previous studies by showing that fluency and openness are significant predictors of creative achievement in the advertisement environment. These results emphasize the importance of canalizing the advertiser’s divergent thinking abilities through appropriate routes provided by working experience, raising important implications for future explorations of domain-specific creative achievement within an individual differences framework. Final indications for future developments are provided, with a special emphasis on the replication of these findings in various work domains and in various cultural contexts

Domain-general versus Domain-specific Approach of Creativity: Arts, Science and Everyday Life

The investigation of domain-specificity by means of structural models is undoubtedly one of the most contemporary subjects in creativity research. Whilst the dominant approach conceives creativity as a relatively general mental capacity, a more recent, and relatively underexplored approach, conceives creativity as domain-specific. Three major domains of creative expression are often distinguished: arts, science and everyday life (Batey & Furnham, 2006). The hybrid approach reconciles to some extent the domain-general and domain-specific paradigm, by allowing for domain-general, domain-specific and even task specific features (Lubart & Guignard, 2004). The present research explored this differential approach, which raises the question, in how far the cognitive and conative creative profiles, can be generalized. These were investigated in the domains of arts, science and everyday life. The artistic creative profile of architects was compared to the scientific creative profile of psychologists and the everyday creative profile of the general population. With this in mind the three test groups (architects, psychologists, general population), were subjected to a general creativity test. One population-specific creativity test was added within every sample. The differential approach of creativity, integrating both domain-general and domain-specific features, was confirmed. This doctoral dissertation allows for different creative profiles with regard to specific domains of creative expression to be established. It became clear that architects demonstrated the expected profile for scientific creativity, whilst psychologists demonstrated the expected profile for artistic creativity. As anticipated, the everyday creative profile was presented by people of the general population. It was characterized by openness to new experiences and, to a lesser extent, by intelligence. Presently, the image of the psychologically conflicted architect, sometimes projected by the literature (Barron, 1965, 1969; MacKinnon, 1961, 1962), could not be confirmed. This image was further associated with creative psychologists. Implications and limits of these results are discussed further below

Closing the Spiritual Circle of Life: The Unconditional Love Revolution

No full text
This article presents and combines theories and philosophies on the spiritual rebirthing and ascension process emanating from psychology, comparative mythology, and comparative religion. It addresses various states of the soul encountered on the mystical journey to Divine Union and the various ways God assists human beings in completing this process, both personally and collectively. The analysis of the soul regeneration process — the science of the saints — addresses human sanctification during earthly existence and eventually beyond if the worldly life does not suffice to complete this process. Furthermore, the role of the Divine Feminine in salvation history is highlighted as well as the importance of the alchemical communion between divine counterparts in the inauguration of the Millennium of Peace leading toward the New Jerusalem

Multivariate Approach to Creativity: Cognition and Personality

Our study is founded on a multivariate approach to creativity. We analyze cognitive and personality variables in relationship to creative potential. The sample consists of 37 middle aged adults from the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg (20 women, 17 men, MAge = 41.03, SD = 7.23, age range: 29-55 years). Whereas ego-strength is positively related to creative potential, it is negatively related to psychoticism. We argue that in a population of academics psychoticism is not an essential condition for creative potential. It is rather the other side of the same coin. Ego-strength is some kind of moderator variable that determines which feature will be uncovered. We conceive that this ensues in three different forms of creativity. The first one relies on mental strength and emotional stability; the second one on emotional vulnerability and finally the third one arises from a confluence of both features

Exploring Three Different Assessment Techniques of the Test for Creative Thinking-Drawing Production

Our study targets the empirical validation of the correlation surface of psychopathology and ego-strength (Eysenck, 1995). The sample comprises 37 middle aged adults from the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg (20 women, 17 men, MAge = 41.03, SD = 7.23, age range: 29-55 years). Established hypotheses could not be verified and results even significantly tend in the opposite direction. The findings are discussed in the light of an eventual revision of the theoretical conception of Eysenck and its potential adaptation to the measured constructs

Humankind must drastically reduce CO2_{2} emissions within the next three decades to limit global climate change. Defossilization of the transport sector must contribute to the achievement of this ambitious aim. One promising option is the production of synthetic liquid fuels from CO2_{2}, water, and renewable electrical energy. Liquid fuels will also be used in the future, especially for heavy-duty vehicles and aviation. We studied the production of liquid fuels by integration of Fischer-Tropsch Synthesis (FTS) and Hydrocracking (HC) in a single micro-structured reactor. Thereby, we addressed the aspects of process simplification and process intensification. Both are particularly important for flexible small-scale plants for decentralized application in context of the energy transition. In this study, we systematically investigated the performance of the integrated FTS/HC process depending on different operating conditions (pressure, temperature, weight hourly space velocity, H2_{2}/CO synthesis gas ratio) and integration configurations by applying a factorial design approach. Beyond the selectivity of the process towards liquid fuels, we especially focus on the product quality affected by the type of produced hydrocarbons. We identified significant influence parameters on process performance, which is essential to know for practical application. We showed that the crude product quality was significantly influenced by the integration pattern. Therefore, we suggested more elaborate integration configurations to overcome the challenge of suboptimal operation conditions for the FT and HC catalyst and improve the product quality
