    A Brief Description of Samara Ergonyms

    The purpose of the article is to consider a specific group of ergonyms associated with the regional culture, history, development, and geolocation of the Samara region. The article is aimed at finding out the main characteristic features of the names of enterprises and organizations (ergonyms) in Samara.The author uses descriptive comparative method. To provide the material and examples of ergonym, the methods of association, links and semantic map are used.The provided description makes us think that the regional peculiarities of ergonyms are an essential part of the national-cultural component. It can be realized with the help of the realities associated with geolocation or specific features of the social, cultural, historical, ethnic development of a state and nation as a whole. It can be concluded that modern trends affect the ergonymic space of a city and its ergonymicon. The national-territorial component is capable of performing a parole function. There are certain ergonymic models associated with territorial identity, including abbreviations and acronyms, as well as contaminations of different types.The analysis and the study results of Samara ergonyms are supposed to be a valuable material for investigation of proper names of enterprises, institution, firms etc. There are further prospects for studying a number of onomastic issues. The study results can be useful in solving brand and rebrand problems

    Effects of high and low level 1265 nm laser irradiation on HCT116 cancer cells

    The mechanism responsible for the oxidative stress due to photobiomodulation induced by 1265 nm laser is still unclear. Mitochondria are assumed to be the most probable acceptors of the 1265 nm laser irradiation. We study oxidative stress, mitochondrial potential, GSH, cell viability, DNA damage. We demonstrated that narrowband (highcoherent) and wideband lasers employed at the doses of 9.45 and 66.6-400 J/cm2, respectively, induce a dose-dependent cell death, increase ROS level, disturb mitochondrial functioning and can damage DNA. Thus, the 1265 nm lasers can affect the HCT116 cells through mitochondrial damage. Energy density increase contributes to cell damaging without heating effects

    The light-oxygen effect in biological cells enhanced by highly localized surface plasmon-polaritons

    Here at the first time we suggested that the surface plasmon-polariton phenomenon which it is well described in metallic nanostructures could also be used for explanation of the unexpectedly strong oxidative effects of the low-intensity laser irradiation in living matters (cells, tissues, organism). We demonstrated that the narrow-band laser emitting at 1265 nm could generate significant amount of the reactive oxygen species (ROS) in both HCT116 and CHO-K1 cell cultures. Such cellular ROS effects could be explained through the generation of highly localized plasmon-polaritons on the surface of mitochondrial crista. Our experimental conditions, the low-intensity irradiation, the narrow spectrum band (<4 nm) of the laser and comparably small size bio-structures (~10 μm) were shown to be sufficient for the plasmon-polariton generation and strong laser field confinement enabling the oxidative stress observed

    Protective Role of Mytilus edulis Hydrolysate in Lipopolysaccharide-Galactosamine Acute Liver Injury

    Acute liver injury in its terminal phase trigger systemic inflammatory response syndrome with multiple organ failure. An uncontrolled inflammatory reaction is difficult to treat and contributes to high mortality. Therefore, to solve this problem a search for new therapeutic approaches remains urgent. This study aimed to explore the protective effects of M. edulis hydrolysate (N2-01) against Lipopolysaccharide-D-Galactosamine (LPS/D-GalN)-induced murine acute liver injure and the underlying mechanisms. N2-01 analysis, using Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LCMS) metabolomic and proteomic platforms, confirmed composition, molecular-weight distribution, and high reproducibility between M. edulis hydrolysate manufactured batches. N2-01 efficiently protected mice against LPS/D-GalN-induced acute liver injury. The most prominent result (100% survival rate) was obtained by the constant subcutaneous administration of small doses of the drug. N2-01 decreased Vascular Cell Adhesion Molecule-1 (VCAM-1) expression from 4.648 ± 0.445 to 1.503 ± 0.091 Mean Fluorescence Intensity (MFI) and Interleukin-6 (IL-6) production in activated Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells (HUVECs) from 7.473 ± 0.666 to 2.980 ± 0.130 ng/ml in vitro. The drug increased Nitric Oxide (NO) production by HUVECs from 27.203 ± 2.890 to 69.200 ± 4.716 MFI but significantly decreased inducible Nitric Oxide Synthase (iNOS) expression from 24.030 ± 2.776 to 15.300 ± 1.290 MFI and NO production by murine peritoneal lavage cells from 6.777 ± 0.373 µm to 2.175 ± 0.279 µm. The capability of the preparation to enhance the endothelium barrier function and to reduce vascular permeability was confirmed in Electrical Cell-substrate Impedance Sensor (ECIS) test in vitro and Miles assay in vivo. These results suggest N2-01 as a promising agent for treating a wide range of conditions associated with uncontrolled inflammation and endothelial dysfunction

    The photobiomodulation of vital parameters of the cancer cell culture by low dose of near-IR laser irradiation

    The mechanisms underlining the cell adaptive and/or activating oxidative stress, called low level light or photobiomodulation therapies (PBMT), still remain unclear for the near-infrared spectrum range (750-3000 nm), especially for the 1265-1270 nm range (highest absorption by molecular oxygen). It is most probable that the mitochondria may also appear to be the main target for these wavelengths. It is known that mitochondria can generate ROS under visible and 800-1060 nm spectrum range irradiation, which in turn control voltage-dependent anion channels (VDAC). Here we investigated cellular damage regarding VDAC activity, level of oxidative stress, malondialdehyde content, cell viability, mitochondrial potential and mass, GSH level, mitochondrial and nuclear DNA damage in the cancer cell culture exposed to low-level laser irradiation at 1265 nm. We used a continuous wave laser with output power 4 mW; the energy densities employed were 0.3-9.45 J/cm 2. We observed that the laser radiation at 1265 nm can induce the oxidative stress, enhance apoptosis, and disturb mitochondrial functioning at the energy density of 9.54 J/cm 2. In addition, inhibition of VDAC enhances the observed effects. It has been shown that the laser irradiation at 1265 nm damages mitochondrial DNA but does not affect the nuclear DNA. The performed experiments bring us to the conclusion that the laser irradiation at 1265 nm can affect cells through mitochondrial damage and the inhibition of VDAC enhances effects of PBMT

    Choosing the Direction of Development of Foreign Economic Activity for Enterprises in the Aviation Industry

    The article is aimed at studying the existing approaches to the development of foreign economic activity (FEA) of enterprise, elaborating the procedure of its management in order to determine the direction of development of FEA of enterprises in the aviation industry of Ukraine. The authors have developed, formalized and visualized a phased mechanism of choosing the direction of development of FEA for enterprise, according to the method of functional modeling. The obtained instrument was used to determine the direction of FEA development for a typical enterprise in the aviation industry. Features of the aforementioned enterprise have been allocated, a suitable set of development directions has been selected, a reasoned procedure of implementation of activities on development of foreign economic activity at the enterprise has been analyzed and determined. Prospect for further research in this direction can be implementation of the mechanism at the enterprises of other industries, refinement of the instrumentarium for each stage of the process according to their features and needs

    Radiation-Induced Changes of microRNA Expression Profiles in Radiosensitive and Radioresistant Leukemia Cell Lines with Different Levels of Chromosome Abnormalities

    In our study, we estimate an effect from chromosome aberrations and genome mutations on changes in microRNA expression profiles in cancer cell lines demonstrating different radiosensitivity. Here, cell viability and microRNA spectrum have been estimated 1, 4, and 24 h after irradiation. MiSeq high-throughput sequencing system (Illumina, San Diego, CA, USA) is employed to perform microRNA spectrum estimation. In the K562 cell line, the number of expressed microRNAs in chromosomes demonstrates a more pronounced variation. An analysis of microRNA effects on signaling pathway activity demonstrates differences in post-transcriptional regulation of the expression of genes included into 40 signaling pathways. In the K562 cell line, microRNA dynamics analyzed for their dependence on chromosome localization show a wider scattering of microRNA expression values for a pair of chromosomes compared to the HL-60 cell line. An analysis of microRNAs expression in the K562 and HL-60 cell lines after irradiation has shown that chromosome abnormalities can affect microRNA expression changes. A study of radiation-induced changes of microRNA expression profiles in the K562 and HL-60 cell lines has revealed a dependence of microRNA expression changes on the number of chromosome aberrations and genome mutations
