Performance Measurement of Supply Chain Management: A Decision Framework for Evaluating and Selecting Supplier Performance in a Supply Chain

    Get PDF
Supply Chain Management (SCM) has gained significance as one of the 21st century manufacturing paradigms for improving organizational competitiveness. Supply chain ensures improved efficiency and effectiveness of not only product transfer, but also information sharing between the complex hierarchies of all the tiers. The literature on SCM that deals with strategies and technologies for effectively managing a supply chain is quite vast. In recent years, organizational performance measurement (PM) and metrics have received much attention from researchers and practitioners. Performance measurement and metrics have an important role to play in setting objectives, evaluating performance, and determining future courses of actions. Apart from the common criteria such as cost and quality, ten other performance measurements are defined, visibility, trust, innovativeness, delivery reliability, flexibility and responsiveness, resource utilization, cost, assets, technological capability, service and time to market, so total twelve criteria and fifty eight subcriteria are used to evaluate the performance in supply chain. So, for evaluating and selecting supplier a multi-attribute decision-making technique, an analytic hierarchy process (AHP), is used to make decision based on the priority of performance measures. This paper describes a decision framework for evaluating and selecting supplier performance in a supply chain. A case study from the automotive industry is used to demonstrate the AHP technique

: Social networks have turned into a piece of the human life beginning from shearing information like texts, photos, messages; many have begun share most recent news. Young people will unreservedly surrender individual information to join social networks on the internet. The networking website offer the clear route for individuals to have a straightforward social nearness through web. They give the virtual condition to individuals to share every single movement, their advantage, and their hover of associate with their family, companions, or even the obscure with the so much sharing, programmer hackers and hoodlums have discovered simple approaches to take individual information through these networking sites. This call for progress in security reason to protect again hackers which frame the premise of this exploration in this paper we will talk about a portion of the security and security concerns, attacks and an engineering for secure demand trade of information between client . This design enhances the customization of profile. Our examination recommends that exclusive a legitimate information of the hacking methodologies will enhance the best guard in the war against the cyber attacks

Search engine is a device that enables client to enter a specific catchphrase and presents information on site having in its database. Search Engine Optimization is the collection of methods tools and practices which are utilized to build the positioning of any sites in primary body of any Search Engine comes about. Search Engine Optimization is the movement of streamlining the site page or the entire site so as to influence them to search motor cordial, to get higher position in search comes about. Search Engine Optimization is ordered into two sections initial one is on page and second one is off page. The system or respect of enhancing the positioning of site in the group of search motor outcomes is conceivable utilizing diverse methods and tools accessible in the market. The paper depicts the concept and review of Search Engine optimization and tools and procedures utilized for it

Performance measurement and metrics pertaining to SCM have not received adequate attention from researchers or practitioners. There is no systematic grouping of the different performance measures in the existing literature. The development of a framework for PM in supply chains requires generalised performance measures. This paper seeks to provide an extensive literature review for identification of performance measures, which in turn forms a basis for establishing a framework for performance measurements in supply chains

Lifestyle carbon footprints and changes in lifestyles to limit global warming to 1.5 °C, and ways forward for related research

    Get PDF
This paper presents an approach for assessing lifestyle carbon footprints and lifestyle change options aimed at achieving the 1.5 °C climate goal and facilitating the transition to decarbonized lifestyles through stakeholder participatory research. Using data on Finland and Japan it shows potential impacts of reducing carbon footprints through changes in lifestyles for around 30 options covering food, housing, and mobility domains, in comparison with the 2030 and 2050 per-capita targets (2.5-3.2 tCO2e by 2030; 0.7-1.4 tCO2e by 2050). It discusses research opportunities for expanding the footprint-based quantitative analysis to incorporate subnational analysis, living lab, and scenario development aiming at advancing sustainability science on the transition to decarbonized lifestyles

A Validated Densitometric Method for Analysis of Atorvastatin Calcium and Metoprolol Tartarate as Bulk Drugs and In Combined Capsule Dosage Forms

    Get PDF
A simple, accurate and precise high-performance thin-layer chromatographic method has been developed for the estimation of Atorvastatin Calcium and Metoprolol Tartarate simultaneously from a capsule dosage form. The method employed Silica gel 60F 254sprecoated plates as stationary phase and a mixture of Chloroform: Methanol: Glacial acetic acid (dil.) :: (9:1.5:0.2 ml %v/v) as mobile phase. Densitometric scanning was performed at 220 nm using Camag TLC scanner 3. The method was linear in the drug concentrations’ range of 500 to 2500 ng/spot for Atorvastatin Calcium, also for Metoprolol Tartarate with correlation coefficient of 0.984 for Atorvastatin Calcium and 0.995 for Metoprolol Tartarate respectively. The retention factor for Atorvastatin Calcium was 0.45 ± 0.04 and for Metoprolol Tartarate was 0.25 ± 0.02. The method was validated as per ICH (International Conference on Harmonisation) Guidelines, proving its utility in estimation of Atorvastatin Calcium and Metoprolol Tartarate in combined dosage form

Progress in fluidized bed assisted abrasive jet machining (FB-AJM): Internal polishing of aluminium tubes

    Get PDF
This paper deals with the internal finishing of tubular components made from a high strength aluminium alloy (AA 6082 T6) using a fluidized bed assisted abrasive jet machining (FB-AJM) system. Firstly, a Taguchi's experimental plan was used to investigate the influence of abrasive jet speed, machining cycle, and abrasive mesh size on surface roughness and material removal trends. Secondly, the leading finishing mechanisms were studied using combined 3d profilometer-SEM analysis to monitor the evolution of the surface morphology of machined workpieces. Finally, the circumferential uniformity and precision machining of the inner surface of workpieces were tested by evaluating the values of the more significant roughness parameters in different circumferential locations. Consistent trends of surface roughness vs. operational parameters were measured, and significant material removal was found to affect the workpieces during machining. As a result, FB-AJM was found to preferentially machine the asperities and irregularities of the surface, thereby altering the overall surface morphology producing more regular and smoother finishing. Moreover, the good circumferential uniformity and machining accuracy FB-AJM guarantees even on ductile aluminium alloy workpieces ensure that this technology can be applied to a diverse set of industrial components. Heuristics for production scheduling problem with machining and assembly operations

    No full text
This work deals with production scheduling problem in an assembly flow shop, having parts machining followed by their subsequent assembly operations. Limited heuristics available on the problem, are based on unrealistic assumption that every part is processed on all machines. In this paper, two heuristics NEH_BB and Disjunctive are proposed to solve assembly flow shop scheduling problem where every part may not be processed on each machine. Exhaustive computational experiments are conducted with 60 trials each. The methods are found to be applicable to large size problems. The objective functions used for comparison are makespan and computational time. Disjunctive method takes very less computational time as compared to NEH_BB and hence claimed to be the better among available approaches for finding solution in assembly flow shop problems
